Chapter 921: Main Forces Appear

"Buzz!" A dim light flashed. This time, the creature which came through the teleportation point was no longer a low-tier Nephilim. Instead, it was a Pure-blood Nephilim which Jiang Fei had initially evolved into.
These were all two-and-half-feet tall and muscular Nephilim soldiers. They had purple skin and a pair of wings behind them. Each of them held a giant scythe in their hand. They were the most elite main forces of the Nephilim army.
Swoos.h.!.+ Right then, huge waves of over thirty meters in height splashed against the sh.o.r.es on both sides of the river. After that, heavy footsteps could be heard as Giant Whale Warriors started moving ash.o.r.e. They were carrying giant anchors in their hands. Although the anchors looked rusty, based on their weights, these anchors were more than capable of cracking the bones of the Dragons upon impact.
As soon as these high-tier Oceanic race and Pure-blood Nephilims appeared, the Dragon race appeared to be in a more precarious situation. Although the former could not fight against the Dragons each on their own, they had an advantage in having greater numbers. Moreover, the Dragons were also very much exhausted at this point.
If they could not fight the Dragons on their own, they would fight against them as a group.
Hence, each of the Dragons were surrounded by three to five Giant Whale Warriors or Pure-blood Nephilims. The elite soldiers from the Oceanic and Nephilim races had been resting all day. They were now full of energy in contrast to the Dragon race whose members had already expended most of their Mana and were also physically exhausted. Very soon, casualties began to occur on the Dragons' side.
"Roar!" As the pitiful cry of a Dragon could be heard, one of the Dragons' head was smashed into pieces by a Giant Whale Warrior's steel anchor.
From then on, it was as if the Domino's effect was taking place. The Dragons were killed one after another. They had initially been the ones killing their enemies, but now they were being killed instead.
"Let's retreat! Over there!" The Dragon race's commander knew they could not go on like this. If they did, all of the Dragon race's elite soldiers would die in this place.
However, it was not easy to break through the Nephilim army's barrier. Apart from the high-tier Pure-blood Nephilims, there were still many other low-tier Nephilims blocking their way. Even if these low-tier Nephilim races were weak, the Dragons still needed time to kill them to make way for their escape. Unfortunately, time was not a luxury the Dragons could afford at the moment.
"Charge! It's every Dragon for itself now!" Right then, the Dragon race had already given up on retreating strategically. They were aware that they had been thoroughly defeated. Only the lucky ones would be able to escape now.
Although the Oceanic and Nephilim races had an absolute advantage, the Dragon race was still a force to be reckoned with. Therefore, when the Dragons worked together, they very quickly broke through the Nephilim army's barrier, albeit only creating a very small opening. Now and then, one of the Dragons would be able to escape through the opening.
However, the Dragons who managed to escape the Nephilim race's barrier were not necessarily safe. Jiang Fei and the other players would not let them escape in peace.
As soon as these heavily injured Dragons made their way through the Nephilim race's barrier, they were met with a bunch of annoying Adventurers.
"Roar!" The Dragons cried out angrily. They were prepared to kill anyone who stood in their way.
"No need to rush, everyone. There are plenty of Dragons to go around!" Jiang Fei shouted loudly as he led the Empyreal Dragon's players toward one of the Overlord Dragons.
"Kill them!" The other guilds did not dare to engage an Overlord. Therefore, most of them only targeted Lord Dragons.
"Everyone, be careful! Clerics, keep your distance while you heal others!" Jiang Fei shouted loudly. These Dragons were unlike those in dungeons who did not have any intelligence. Therefore, they were unaffected by aggro. If the Clerics got too close, these Dragons would not hesitate to use their Dragon Breath to kill them all.
"Roar!" The Overlord Dragon engaged by the Empyreal Dragon's members immediately killed over a hundred players with a single Dragon's Breath. Regular players appeared to be extremely weak against the Overlord.
"d.a.m.n it. Come at me if you dare!" Jiang Fei charged toward the Overlord Dragon on his Juvenile Skygliding Dragon. At the same time, he started firing arrows at the Dragon.
As the Dragon's body was very large, Jiang Fei was not worried about missing his attacks. As the arrows started piling against the Dragon, Jiang Fei's Ruthless Barrage began acc.u.mulating stacks. His Attack Power very soon increased to nearly 400,000.
Although the Overlord Dragon had very high Defense, each of Jiang Fei's arrows could deal over 300,000 damage. With Jiang Fei's ability to fire eight arrows in a second, the Dragon was very rapidly losing its Health Points.
Despite having over 200,000,000 Max Health Points, the Overlord Dragon had lost most of its Health Points before it escaped out of the Nephilim army's barrier.
Jiang Fei and the other players only dared to engage these Dragons because their Mana had already been expended. Otherwise, most of the players would be killed by the Draconian Forbidden Spells.
"Roar!" When the Overlord Dragon realized Jiang Fei's frightening Attack Power, it immediately turned its attention toward him. After all, Jiang Fei's damage was higher than all of the other players combined.
As the Dragon cried out angrily, it began using Dragon's Breath on Jiang Fei.
"Hmph! I'm not afraid of you!" Jiang Fei snorted. In the past, Jiang Fei needed to transform to withstand an Overlord's attack. However, now that he had completed the Tier Challenge Quest and had become an Overlord himself, Jiang Fei had very high Resistance against enemies of the same tier. Although Jiang Fei only had around 300,000 Health Points, he had the Cauldron of Spirit, which allowed him to regain full Health Points almost immediately as long as he was not killed by a single attack.
After Jiang Fei successfully drew the attention of the Dragon to himself, the damage dealt to other players in Empyreal Dragon decreased dramatically. The Clerics took the opportunity to revive the players who had been killed.
Although Jiang Fei could withstand the Overlord Dragon's attacks, other guilds were not as fortunate. Even if the tankers in the other guilds were tough enough, the Dragons were far too intelligent and were unaffected by aggro. Therefore, the Dragons would still go after players who they deemed a threat. Hence, in a short time, a lot of the players were heavily injured or killed.
Most of the Nephilim and Oceanic races' soldiers had been easily killed by the Dragons. This was despite the fact that the soldiers were all Elite monsters above Level 80. They were already much stronger than the Level 70 players. Therefore, in terms of capabilities, the players were even weaker than the soldiers.
The Dragons were now tied down by the players mainly because they were too few in numbers. After all, it was not easy to get out of the Nephilim race's barrier.
On top of that, the few lucky Dragons which managed to escape from the barrier had already been heavily injured. Most of them had less than 50% of their Health Points and were unable to use their Draconian Forbidden Spells to kill the players around them. Although Dragon's Breath was also able to deal AoE damage, the coverage was much smaller as compared to that of the Draconian Forbidden Spell.
