Chapter 1229: Yang Behemoth
The bridge connected the clouds to the ground, serving as the entrance to the immemorial ruins without breaking down.
Mist and fog pervaded the other side, as thick as could be. Even a pseudo-saint would find it difficult to see beyond ten meters ahead.
“Bam!” A lightning bolt struck the blood dragon, burning its skin to a crisp and invoking a scream.
“Watch your step, there are dangers everywhere. A stone with the aura of a grand saint will crush you.” Feiyun said.
The turtle hurriedly grabbed the dragon and wrapped the tiny thing around its neck.
Heaven Calculating Scholar stuck to the front, attempting to predict and avoid dangers. He sought the safest path, allowing them to reach the central area of the ruins. Other rising stars weren’t so lucky, hence a high number of casualties.
They saw many dismembered corpses along the way - demons being burned to death or struck by lightning bolts. More were crucified by ancient weapons.
After seeing the humans able to walk safely deeper into the ruins, other rising stars quietly followed their path.
Feiyun stuck to the back to prevent ambushes from them. The group included Heaven Calculating Scholar, Fairy Xue, Ximen Chuixiao, Zhongyuan Yidian, Xuanyuan Yiyi, s.h.i.+ Lan, Firebird Princess, Firebird Saintess, the fruit, the turtle, the blood dragon, and Feng Feiyun.
Along the way, they saw broken pieces of ancient weapons. The fog turned into miasma with a blood hue. Just one inhale could make rising stars dizzy.
The circ.u.mstances and auras in this palace were strange due to the presence of a Grand Saint’s power. It prevented items from rotting through time so if someone were lucky enough, they could find incredible treasures.
The turtle sniffed the ground and dug the entire way. Suddenly, its eyes lit up as it dug a pit, causing a white beam to shoot upward.
“Haha, I got something good!”
Everyone stopped. Ximen Chuixiao and Zhongyuan Yidian ran over, looking at the source of the beam in the mud.
“A saint essence, comparable to one hundred million Buddhist essences. This is priceless since it can help pseudo and demi-saints learn saint laws. There’s a full puddle here.” Zhongyuan Yidian became emotional.
“I’m thirsty, time for a drink.” Ximen Chuixiao said casually before getting down and taking a drink.
“What the h.e.l.l are you doing?!” The turtle became startled and hurriedly stored the puddle.
Ximen Chuixiao got up, licked his lips, and tidied his clothes before speaking: “Just one gulp, how stingy of you.”
“f.u.c.k, you got at least three hundred drops.” The turtle was livid.
Chuixiao ignored him and walked back to the front of the group. Now, everyone realized they could find random treasures on the ground.
Meanwhile, more rising stars followed the group. They saw the turtle’s gains and started keeping an eye out.
Feiyun had studied the art of treasure-seeking and possessed the phoenix gaze. Therefore, he quickly found a larger puddle of saint essence.
“I’m feeling a little thirsty.” Zhongyuan Yidian played it cool and walked closer but Feiyun was faster and recalled the puddle.
The rising stars in the back didn’t dare to rob them. After all, humans weren’t to be trifled with right now and most importantly, they knew a safe pa.s.sage to delve deeper into the ruins.
“Wait.” The scholar leading the group suddenly stopped, even taking one step backward after seeing a b.l.o.o.d.y river.
“What is it?” Ximen Chuixiao asked.
“The pa.s.sing place of a saint.” He pointed at the river and said: “Blood from Time Immemorial.”
“Isn’t that awesome?! This blood should be on the same level as the essence, it’s enough for me to reach the demi level within a century.” Chuixiao became excited.
“Stop, a saint fell here, you can’t fathom how dangerous it is.” The scholar said with a serious expression.
Chuixiao turned pale while the other humans retreated after feeling immense pressure.
“Whoa! A river of saint blood?! Just one drop is enough for dao enlightenment but this many? If the humans don’t want it, we’ll take it!” A beast genius looking like a hog with wings landed next to the sh.o.r.e.
Few could resist the temptation.
“Splas.h.!.+” Ripples and waves formed and a skeletal claw reached out. It spanned a few hundred meters long, each bone looked incredibly heavy.
The beast genius screamed and was pulled into the river. A few seconds later, only his skeleton remained. Next, the whole thing melted.
“Run, run now! Something’s awakening!” Feiyun shouted.
“Splas.h.!.+” A skeleton towering at three thousand meters rushed out of the river. It easily caught a demon nearby without using any technique or cultivation and tossed him into its mouth.
Everyone ran but it was too fast.
“A Yang Behemoth!” Feiyun ran while still keeping an eye on the giant.
He had seen the remains of one back in the blood river beneath the Feng’s ancestral ground. That one was only a hundred meters tall and was a baby compared to this monstrosity.
“Why is one here in this world? Looks like there is something else in that river capable of killing a saint.” The turtle rode the fruit away.
Yang Behemoths lived in a mysterious and corporeal plane known as Divine World. Only twins with the Yang Soul Holy Embryo could open the door to this world and summon a Yang Behemoth.
“Ahh!” A strand of aura pierced Firebird Princess’ chest, causing her to fall to the ground.
The skeleton reached for the victim lost in despair. Her legs trembled as she stared at the incoming skeleton; its pressure immobilized her.
“Bam!” Feiyun appeared and grabbed her waist, utilizing Swift Samsara to dodge the claw.
The skeleton’s eyes flashed brightly as it increased its speed tenfold, catching up to him.
“Myriad Beast Supremacy!” He unleashed an attack against the claw.
“Bam!” He was sent flying into a forest with blood trees, crus.h.i.+ng many along the way. He landed safely and leaped away, choosing to hide in this first.
“Raa!” The skeleton entered the forest to give chase.
The trees have grown for many years, some were thicker and taller than the skeleton.
“Boom!” It rampaged and knocked down many trees.
“Raa!” A dragon’s roar could be heard and a tail sent it flying.
An earth-shattering battle ensued with shockwaves emanating outward.
“Brother Yun is being pursued...” Firebird Saintess panicked and flew toward the forest.
Other humans followed her into the unknown, not wanting to abandon Feiyun
