What should I do from now on?
My parents earned quite much during their Adventurer times and adding the money from their bodyguard job of Collet Village on it, Crybird Family has quite amount money right now. Thus we wouldn’t have any trouble with our living expenses but after witnessing such an incident, I don’t want to live in Arnaldo Kingdom anymore.
“Today was a very intense day so I should rest for now. I can’t probably come up with good ideas in my current state.”
Even though he can’t see the Knight party anymore, Surges keeps staring towards Koru Thread direction with stern eyes. He doesn’t have the power to turn towards his family as he speaks.
“Right, let’s eat dinner and go to sleep for now. Honey, you don’t need to think so hard. n.o.body could stop something like that.”
Chris approves while also trying to calm Surges down.
The dinner was silent. There was only sounds of tableware.
The morning of the next day, four of us gathered in the dining room and Surges starts talking.
“Firstly, we should leave the Arnaldo Kingdom. They might try to silence us because of the recent incident.”
“That’s right. I also agree about leaving the Arnaldo Kingdom.”
“Then, where should we go?”
I express my approval and Chris asks about where to go.
“To be honest, it doesn’t matter where we go. We already have a lot of money, we can live everywhere without a problem. Tell me if there is a place you want to go and live. However, I want to check the Elven Village before we leave.”
Medea gives a startled response to the word “Elven Village” Surges mentioned. It seems that she still couldn’t overcome the trauma of getting bullied while she was still a kid.
“I think you two have some acquaintances in the Elven Village but Medea and I won’t be coming along with you. We can wait for one or two days so how about just you two going there?”
It seems he noticed Medea’s expression after my speech. Surges was a little fl.u.s.trated thus he coughed once.
“We can decide about it afterwards. Chris, is there a place you want to go?”
“There is nowhere I specially want to go.”
It seems that two of them don’t have a place they especially want to go.
“If that is the case, I want to attend to one of the Magic Academies in the Sarajek Union.”
“Well, I don’t mind living in Sarajek Union.”
Surges lightly agrees.
“However, we need to pa.s.s through Koru Thread and the Capital City and cross the whole kingdom in order to go to Sarajek Union. Currently it is dangerous to use this route.”
Surges ponders over it a little while, when he heard Chris’ refusal and speaks.
“We can also go there over Felix Empire at the north but it would take too much time. If I remember correctly, the enrollment test should be around autumn. If we depart now, I am not sure whether we can make it in time or not… That’s right. Larcus and Medea can go there by themselves. “
“Eh?!”
Medea and I exclaim in surprise.
“Both of you already have strength to fight more than ten minutes and Larcus also has wisdom as well. It might be still a little early, but that’s enough to be independent already. You two wouldn’t do anything to embarra.s.s me and I don’t think that Colonise Viscount would go through that much trouble just to silence you. After Chris and I visited the Elven Village, we will head to Felix Empire on the north. This will be a travel for us, husband and wife alone, so don’t be an hindrance!’
“Yes, that’s a good idea. Two of you already has very solid foundations on the magic. If you were to take a proper training, I am very sure that you two would become great magicians that would leave their names in the history. There aren’t many children who can use Level 2 magics at your ages.”
It seems that Chris also agrees with Surges’ idea.
“Understood. I will definite live up to your expectations.”
“I will also work hard to become a magician as great as Onii-chan.”
Medea and I were grateful for our parents’ concern and promised that we will work hard from now on.
“Now that we came to a decision, then let’s start our preparations as soon as possible. There is already a prepared pack for Kite’s independency but it is only for one person.”
“There was a prepared pack for Kite, right? Medea already has required equipments so you take the Kite’s equipments, Larcus.”
When she heard Surges’ words, Chris made a proposal. The wind attributed magic was cast on the s.h.i.+elds and swords of Kite and mine by Elven. Their performances were so high that you could not buy anything as good as them from somewhere else.
“They were originally belonged to Medea’s grandparents. It is the most appropriate for you to have them. If you were to encounter a trustable vanguard, you can give one to them. Since I will give you a magical bag, you don’t need to worry about how to carry them around.”
“If we encounter someone as trustable as Kite, I will do as you say.”
I agreed with the words of Surges gratefully. They belonged to my deceased brother, Kite so I will use them seriously.
A day pa.s.sed with various preparations and the morning of departure arrived.
Four of us silently walked to the entrance of the village. When we arrived at the entrance, Surges talked while directly looking into the eyes of Medea and mine.
“Larcus, Medea. I added enough money for the tuitions and 3 years of living expenses. I know that you don’t need me to caution you but still, spend it wisely. And also take care of your health.”
Chris told us with red eyes.
“Larcus, Medea. You are our children so you are not allowed to die, okay?”
“Yes, father, mother.”
I respond in high-spirits.
Medea hugs Chris and cries.
“Mother, *sob*… Father. Thank you… *sob* very much.”
“When we reached Sarajek, I am planning to register as an Adventurer as well during our school life. When you two settled down, please send us letters. We will definitely see each other again.”
While Chris is also starting to cry affected by Medea, I talk to Surges.
“Okay, we will write when we settled down.”
Medea and I departed while looking back countless times as we were sent off by two of them.
Our parents kept standing at the entrance of the village until we can not see them anymore.
