The Wicked Bead was rolling into the depth of the basin quietly. Lu Li was relaxed that almost all the wild beasts had flown out, except for a new-born.

This new-born was about 10 feet long. Its big eyes were filled with curiosity. The baby beast tried to flap its wings but failed to fly up. It could only flop about.

The Wicked Bead caught the little beast's attention. The beast took a look and came over. It patted on the Wicked Bead with its little paws.

Lu Li did not make the Wicked Bead dodge and let it be slapped away until stopped by a boulder.

The baby wild beast walked over and stared at the Wicked Bead which had stopped moving. A moment later, the beast shook its head and curled up against the boulder and fell asleep.

"Okay!"

Lu Li quietly sent out psychic power. He was delighted that the Wicked Bead was under the baby wild beast. He could not be safer. Even if someone were to check the area, they would only notice the wild beasts and not the Wicked Bead.

Not long afterward, all the wild beasts had come back. Lu Li secretly checked but made no sound just in case those wild beasts would notice the Wicked Bead.

"Okay!"

To Lu Li's delight, when the wild beasts came back, none paid attention to where he was. One of the wild beasts took a look at the baby beast and then moved away.

"Well, well~"

A moment of observation later, Lu Li was sure that he was safe. He was relieved. This was the best hiding spot. Now, he just had to wait till Commander Ye's force arrived and see if he could dodge the search.

By his calculation, it was highly possible that he could succeed. After all, he was just a n.o.body and to kill a prefecture warrior was not really a felony.

The one that wanted him dead was Commander Wings, not a commander or patriarch of the Vicissitude House. Commander Wing's authority was not that high yet. At the very best, she could bribe one or two prefecture warriors. Now that bird-eyed prefecture warrior had lost his life, others, if there were any, would not be so devoted.

"How about I try to dissolve the fifth layer of the seal of the Wicked Bead?"

Of course, the main reason was that wild beasts were not intelligent. They were only sensible to living beings. The Wicked Bead would only be spotted once the wild beasts saw the glow. Since the Wicked Bead was completely covered up, the wild beasts would not notice.

A moment later, Lu Li felt he could breathe again. He fastened his work and at the same time, cultivated divine energy.

An hour later, Lu Li had a better understanding. Though he had divine energy now, to completely dissolve the fifth seal would take him some time, probably two to three months. The seals implemented by Emperor Heng was quite strong.

"Which level was Emperor Heng at? Was he addressed as an emperor in the nine universes by his own accord or in the Divinity?"

Lu Li asked himself. The ones that could be acknowledged as an emperor must be at the top in the Divinity! Examples being Emperor Zi and the Slayer who was also given the t.i.tle of emperor. If Emperor Heng was just as capable as Emperor Zi and the Slayer, how could he lose his life like this?

Upon further thought, Lu Li believed that Emperor Heng obtained the t.i.tle in the mortal world. Warriors in the nine universes had this habit, just like they would say Emperor of Heaven Reverse.

By the looks of it, Emperor Heng was not quite strong, but not weak either. He must at least be a mighty warrior or else the seals wouldn't have been this strong.

Lu Li felt bored half a day later. Since he had to check outside every now and then, he could not focus on studying Fundamental Principles. Cultivating divine energy and dissolving the seal wouldn't take much effort. It was just routine work and pouring in divine energy.

Lu Li stopped pouring divine energy into the Wicked Bead at once. Through the Wicked Bead, he noticed the baby beast was alerted as well. It did not move yet and just raised its head toward the northwest, looking with curiosity.

The black fog around the basin actually were produced by the wild beasts. Lu Li's psychic power could not reach out and he didn't have the courage to check too obviously either. He could only learn the situation by listening carefully.

There was a battle going on. Lu Li could hear the bellowing of the wild beasts amid some shouts from warriors. He could make out some words like "clothes" or "Stone Golems" but since he was far away from that area and the wild beasts kept roaring, he could barely hear the rest.

A moment later, Lu Li noticed that the sound of the battle was weakening. He was a bit relieved. The prefecture warriors mustn't want to fight the wild beasts. They should have withdrawn after they found the b.l.o.o.d.y clothes and Stone Golems. He should be safe now.

"Wait—"

He suddenly heard a noise. Following that, the baby beast cried out in alarm.

Lu Li did not use psychic power. Yet, he could tell that someone had come into the basin. Clearly, that someone was unwilling to let go and had taken the risk of checking inside.
