Primordial Blood Throne: Book 1 Chapter 45 – It’s Not Easy To Mess With A Blind Man
Edited by Owner
Over the following days, other than going to Jade Truth Pavilion to study, Su Chen had another important task to do, and that was practice his new skills and absorption technique every day.
A point to note was that training in absorption techniques and Origin Skills were done very differently.
Absorption techniques improved a person’s cultivation, strengthening themselves by absorbing Origin Energy, and increasing the user’s overall attributes as well as their maximum Origin Energy.
Origin Skills on the other hand, represents the method of using Origin Energy to increase a person’s combat abilities.
Both weren’t connected, in other words, training Origin Skills did not improve a person’s cultivation level.
A similar situation was the production of Origin Stones.
Origin stones were charged by infusing Origin Energy however, this form of expenditure was different from cultivation. At the same time, the pure Origin Energy within the body would become impure after it was infused into the Origin Stone. Therefore, when a person extracted energy from the stone, it could only replenish their spent Origin Energy and was not able to push the upper limits of their cultivation.
In the end, producing Origin Stones could only increase wealth and didn’t improve a person’s cultivation directly.
If cultivation was viewed as levels, then level, combat ability and wealth were like three carriages moving side by side, a person could never control the other two when he was driving one of them.
But of course, that didn’t mean you could not s.h.i.+ft your focus and drive the other carriages.
Converting Origin Stones into precious herbs and potions, using them to improve your cultivation; but increasing cultivation could also increase the strength of your Origin Skills and increase your combat power; and then there was training in powerful Origin Skills and using it to kill powerful Fiend Beasts to obtain wealth.
These three could be said to be supplementing each other, as for which one to focus on? It would depend on the person’s preferences.
Those who liked to do business, could use the Origin Stones produced daily as capital; those who did not have ambition nor liked to take risks, could simply focus on cultivating and improve at a steady pace; those who liked to battle could try mastering more Origin Skills, although improving one’s cultivation could also increase your overall strength, but it would not be as immediate as learning Origin Skills, which were also much more effective and powerful.
Without a doubt, Su Chen chose the third path.
This path was the most extreme and most risky, yet it was also the fastest. One that had the best future potential.
The path of an Origin Master, was originally the path of the courageous. Only the strongest and bravest warriors could walk the furthest. Doing things the conventional way might have been stable but it also meant that the person was destined to be unable to reach the summit.
As for Su Chen, he had an even immediate reason for walking this path – Origin Energy Light Dots.
Only after a battle could he display his ability to see those Origin Energy Light Dots.
Therefore, during most of the time, Su Chen would focus his efforts to practice Trade Wind Body and Spirit Eye.
Within a month, Su Chen had a small achievement with regards to Trade Wind Body.
His current physique had an obvious improvement. Be it strength or stamina, they had a large increase. If he possessed the power of ten horses when he was at the Ninth Layer Forged Body, then the Energy Guiding Su Chen had the power
of twenty horses. However, after practicing the Trade Wind Body, Su Chen obtained another ten horses of power using a month’s effort, as well as an obvious improvement of various aspects such as reaction speed.
In comparison, the progression of the Spirit Eye skill was much slower.
A month of training only allowed Su Chen to complete the basic Origin Energy Runes required, as for the Origin Energy Model, he was still very unskilled with it.
Origin Energy Model was a unique trait of Arcane Spells. When an Origin Master uses an Arcane Spell, he must first form its Origin Energy Model before he could cast the corresponding spell. While every Arcane Spell have their own corresponding Origin Energy Model, even if they learn the same spell, the Origin Energy Model created by different people might also have minor differences.
In comparison, Modern Origin Skills did not require Origin Energy Models but required the users to plant Origin Energy Runes within their bodies. During battle, they would just have to activate the runes in their body to display the corresponding skill.
When compared against Origin Energy Models, Origin Energy Runes were obviously more flexible but their destructive power was also relatively weaker.
In short, Ancient Arcane Spells focus on range and explosiveness while Modern Origin Skills focuses on versatility, sustainability, and Origin Energy efficiency.
There was no determining which was better, only the difference of suitability based on the situation. Modern Origin Skills suited the current overall environment, which led to Ancient Arcane Spells being slowly phased out.
However, the Improved Arcane Spells that Su Chen obtained were different, they possess the unique traits of both Ancient Arcane Spells and Modern Origin Skills. The user must first create the Origin Energy Model, and then use Origin Energy Runes to activate it. This would greatly increase the Improved Arcane Spell’s versatility and destructiveness. However, this also made them much harder to master, and not only must the user learn the Origin Energy Model, they also had to learn the Origin Energy Runes.
Trade Wind Body was still okay. As a pa.s.sive skill, it wasn’t difficult by nature, therefore making it relatively easier to learn. Spirit Eye was a true cla.s.sic existence of two combined traits.
After Su Chen practiced for more than a month, he could only reach the stage of releasing the Spirit Eye, however, each time it would take him half a day of effort to successfully release it, far from the stage of practical applications. As for finding out if his eyes would give the skill any additional effects, he could only forget about that for now. He needed to have enough understanding and mastery of the skill to follow up on that.
The one that gave Su Chen the biggest surprise was in fact the Vapor Snake Step.
While practicing the skill, Su Chen unexpectedly a.s.similated Origin Energy within it, and he result was a sharp increase in speed.
It turned out that Vapor Snake Step was a type of Origin Skill. Only by using it with Origin Energy would it’s true abilities be displayed, if not, it would not have been the Three Extremes of the Gu Family. The Origin Energy Rune had long been embedded inside his body when he had practiced the skill in his best. It was only after he became an Origin Master did it slowly surface. On the other hand, the Su Family’s Blazing Tiger Fist would not be able to do this. To turn it into an Origin Skill, there was a need to specially train it.
This also meant that Su Chen had three Origin Skills in his repertoire; his overall strength had greatly increased.
The only regret was that his cultivation level virtually had no change.
One and a half months ago, Su Chen was at First Layer of Energy Guiding. After one and a half months, Su Chen was still First Layer Energy Guiding, twelve yellow stars.
This was the result of focusing his efforts on practicing Origin Skills.
But Su Chen didn’t mind, and that was because he already had a plan.
Today was a good day.
The sky was clear, the sun, bright.
Su Chen had just returned from the Jade Truth Pavilion. As he came down from the carriage, a servant came over to greet him, “Fourth Young Master, you have returned.”
Ever since he attacked Su Yue, crippled Mo Dayan, and bash up Yan Wu Shuang, Su Chen’s reputation had soared. At least the servants did not dare to provoke him.
Even if the other party was a “blind man”, they could not simply bully him as they like.
Naturally, that didn’t mean that master-status individuals would not be bothered.
As Su Chen casually acknowledged the servant and was about to enter the door, someone walked out from behind the door and knocked straight into Su Chen.
It was Su Qing.
It might have been because he was in a rush, but Su Qing had his head lowered while exiting and unexpectedly collide with Su Chen.
This was a matter that could be resolvds peacefully but Su Qing’s face darkened and said, “A d.a.m.n blind man who only knows how to block paths.”
The words that left his mouth,] seemed to be something that has been in his heart for many years, and seemed to have said it without thinking.
In fact, even if he had thought it through, Su Qing would have still likely have said the same thing.
Although Su Chen had defeated him before, but Su Qing had always felt that Su Chen was just being lucky. If another chance was given, he would definitely not lose.
It was precisely because of this train of thought that made Su Qing stubbornly feel that he was the strongest of the third generation within the family despite Su Chen attacking Su Yue and crippling Mo Dayan.
Hearing Su Qing’s words, Su Chen frowned: “What did you say?”
“I said, d.a.m.n you blind man, you are blocking my path, what? not happy?” Su Qing looked at Su Chen with eyes filled with provocation.
This daddy wants to scold you, a G.o.d d.a.m.n blind man, what can you do about it?
Without making a sound, he retreated a few steps back.
Su Chen acted as though he didn’t see him, after pondering for a moment, he said, “Although I had some small gains from my previous trip to Deep Red Mountain Range but the most regrettable thing was that I was unable to obtain a Cloud Bat. You should already know, that’s the main reason why I chose to accept the Deep Red Discipline in the first place.”
What?
What are you trying to say at this moment?
Su Qing doesn’t understand.
Su Chen continued, “So, what I am trying to say is, I would like to go there one more time.”
Su Qing’s face immediately changed.
He wanted to retreat.
But it was already too late.
Su Chen suddenly turned into a blur in front of him, instantly closing the distance between them and pounced at his body.
With his left-hand gripping Su Qing’s throat, Su Chen chuckled, “Caught you.”
Su Qing was greatly shocked, he had already been extremely careful, why couldn’t he avoid Su Chen’s capture.
The next moment, Su Chen’s iron fist already landed on Su Qing.
Exactly on Su Qing’s nose bridge.
