This youth’s claw-hand strike brought with it a gust of wind, and could even crush rocks.
This person was called Xiao Li, and was at the peak of the Sixth Layer of Body Tempering. He was only 15, and yet he acted extremely arrogantly.
This was because everyone in the Xiao family knew that Xiao Yun’s strength could not even compare to that of someone at the early stages of the Sixth Layer of Body Tempering.
When the other youths saw this, they smiled coldly and waited to see the defeat of Xiao Yun. “Hmph, let’s see if you can continue acting like this.”
“Impudent!” Xiao Yun’s eyes flashed as a fierce look appeared in his eyes. He gripped the demonic python with his left hand as his right hand shot out incredibly quickly; he clamped down on Xiao Li’s claw-hand strike with his right hand and suppressed him.
The immense wave of power that gripped his hand made him feel incredibly powerless.
Xiao Li’s face was filled with surprise as he said, “How could this be? How could you possess such strength?”
While he was still staring in shock, Xiao Yun’s hand pulled Xiao Li’s body forwards, which caused him to lose his balance. Following this, Xiao Yun kicked out and sent Xiao Li sprawling back; the sound of bones cracking rang out.
Xiao Li endured the pain of a bone being broken as he landed on the ground.
Everyone fell silent.
The Martial Arts Grounds fell incredibly silent, so silent that even the breathing of the youths could be clearly heard.
Xiao Cheng and the other dumfounded youths stared at Xiao Yun; they started to feel dizzy out of the immense shock.
“Xiao Yun attacked just then?” Some of the youths looked at each other, unable to accept what had just happened.
The trash Xiao Yun could block an attack from Xiao Li, and even kick him hard enough to fly away?
“This can’t be.”
“Xiao Li definitely underestimated Xiao Yun, which gave him the opportunity to injure him,” everyone muttered as they looked at each other.
“No, this can’t be real.” Of course, the most shocked out of all of them was Xiao Li. He couldn’t accept that he had been injured by this trash, who the entire city knew was trash. Wouldn’t that mean he was lower than trash?
“How could trash like you injure me?” Xiao Li roared out as he bore the pain and crawled over, ready to once again leap at Xiao Yun.
“Xiao Li, do you dare to attack me again?” Xiao Yun saw that Xiao Li had no regrets over his actions, and that he even wanted to make a move against him once again. Xiao Yun stared him down as he said, “A mere branch house descendant like you dares to attack me? Do you put the Xiao family’s rules in your eyes at all?”
“Hmph, so what if I’m part of the branch house? At least I’m better than trash like you who hasn’t advanced at all in 8 years.” Xiao Li coldly harrumphed as his hands made the preparatory movements for an attack. He sprang towards Xiao Yun like a ferocious tiger, launching his savage attack.
“Stubborn and pig-headed.” A cold light flashed in Xiao Yun’s eyes as he gazed at the vicious youth. He slightly s.h.i.+fted his body, evading the fierce attack. His hands then formed knife-hand strikes as he chopped towards Xiao Li’s waist.
“Arghh!!!”
After being hit by the knife-hand strike, Xiao Li powerlessly collapsed on the ground as he screamed.
Whoos.h.!.+
Looking at Xiao Li screaming on the ground, the expression on the other youth’s faces became serious.
Xiao Li might have underestimated Xiao Yun the first time, but this time, he used his full strength.
Could it be that Xiao Yun was no longer at the Sixth Layer of Body Tempering?
Xiao Cheng and the others sucked in a breath of cold air, and the way they looked at Xiao Yun changed.
“With your strength, you think you’re qualified to call me trash?” Xiao Yun glanced at Xiao Li, a dark look appearing on his face. He slowly said, “If anyone dares to offend me, I’ll make them pay 10 times over.” After he said this, he looked around him at the other youths.
Most of these people were from the branch house, and relied on Xiao Cheng’s power and status. They had all bullied Xiao Yun quite often over the past few years.
As a descendant of the main house, his status was already something they could not compare to. How could he allow them to continue bullying him?
Before, he had to endure, due to his cultivation not advancing. However, now that he had recovered his ability to train and cultivate, why did he need to continue to endure?
“Is he still that trash Xiao Yun?”
“Why do I feel that the aura around him has completely changed, as if he’s a sharp sword that has left its sheath?” When Xiao Yun walked by them, the youths all felt a strange sense of terror within their thumping hearts.
“Could it be that he regained his ability to cultivate?” The crowd couldn’t help but tremble.
“Did he really regain his strength?” Xiao Cheng’s eyebrows were tightly knitted together as he felt a strange sense of pressure.
If Xiao Yun regained his talent, wouldn’t that mean his status within the family would dramatically change?
The others became quite shocked and afraid. If Xiao Yun really had regained his talent, he definitely wouldn’t spare them.
After all, they had mocked and bullied him unceasingly over the past few years!
The injured Xiao Li asked with an expression of fear, “Y-You broke through?”
“That’s right,” Xiao Yun calmly replied.
“You weren’t able to make any progress over the past 8 years, so how could you suddenly break through?” Xiao Li asked with an expression of incredulity.
Xiao Yun said as he looked around him, “Who said that I, Xiao Yun, would be a mediocrity for life? The tides have turned, and I, Xiao Yun, will definitely rise again.”
After saying this, Xiao Yun turned and left.
The youths all stood in their places as they muttered to themselves, “He broke through; he really broke through!”
“What are you so afraid of? He only stepped into the Seventh Layer of Body Tempering; what’s so special about that?” Someone said mockingly, “Perhaps it’ll take him another 8 years to break through again. By then, we’ll have stepped into the Innate realm, and will have no reason to fear him anymore.”
Everyone relaxed a bit when they heard this. However, when they looked at that youth, they still felt quite nervous.
“Xiao Yun, stop right there. You think you can just leave after injuring someone?” Xiao Cheng yelled.
“What, are you going to take revenge for him?” Xiao Yun stopped walking as he looked back at Xiao Cheng’s savage face.
Xiao Cheng was his eldest uncle’s son, and he was already at the Eighth Layer of Body Tempering.
“I thought your complexion looks quite good, and I’m sure you want to become stronger as soon as possible. As such, as your senior, I’ll give you some pointers.” Xiao Cheng smirked as he leapt towards Xiao Yun and smashed out with his fist. Even the wind that his fist brought could cause someone pain.
The punch brought about wind and flas.h.i.+ng light. If this punch landed, it would crush the youth in front of him.
This was a Yellow Rank battle skill known as Falling Boulder Fists.
The punch was like a ma.s.sive boulder, making those under it feel as if it was impossible to dodge.
The punch was incredibly fast, and Xiao Cheng seemed to intend to follow it up with more attacks. After his Martial Spirit was upgraded, Xiao Yun’s senses became sharper, but he was still unable to evade the punch while carrying the demonic python. He frowned as he mustered all of his strength and prepared to send out a palm strike.
“Stop right now!” A cold voice exploded out like thunder, as a shockwave cancelled out Xiao Cheng’s attack.
“Uncle Hu!” Xiao Yun, who was going to retaliate with his full strength, felt the pressure weighing down on his body disappear. After raising his head and seeing the middle-aged man, a look of delight appeared in his eyes as he respectfully greeted him.
The man who had suddenly appeared was Xiao Hu.
Uncle Hu gave a slight nod before his gaze became piercing as he stared at Xiao Cheng. “How could you attack Xiao Yun?”
The other youths shrank back and looked extremely timid as Xiao Hu stared them down.
“Nothing much, I just wanted to test cousin Xiao Yun’s strength,” Xiao Cheng casually replied as he shrugged.
Xiao Hu frowned. “Test his strength? Do you need to his martial skills to test his strength?”
“Well, I didn’t hurt him,” Xiao Cheng replied breezily.
“Uncle Hu, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be leaving now.” Xiao Cheng looked at the other youths as he picked up the injured Xiao Li and started walking away. Evidently, he did not put Uncle Hu in his eyes at all.
Xiao Hu could only shake his head in disappointment at this.
Right now, the old patriarch was in closed door training, and the person in charge of the Xiao family was Xiao Cheng’s father. Even with his status, he couldn’t do anything about Xiao Cheng.
“Young master Yun, are you alright?” Xiao Hu shook his head as he turned to Xiao Yun, who was still carrying the demonic python.
“I’m fine,” Xiao Yun calmly replied.
“That’s the sort of person Xiao Cheng is; don’t take it to heart,” Xiao Hu said.
“I will reclaim the honour that belongs to me,” Xiao Yun said calmly, but also with great confidence.
The change in this youth caused Xiao Hu to feel quite shocked. His eyes lit up as he asked, “Was Xiao Li injured by you?”
Xiao Hu had seen Xiao Li sent flying from the distance, and felt quite curious.
Xiao Yun nodded, “Mmm.”
“Did… Did you break through?” Xiao Hu somewhat excitedly asked.
Xiao Yun couldn’t help but grin. “I accidentally stepped into the Seventh Layer of Body Tempering.”
“What?! You broke through?” Xiao Hu felt extremely emotional. After all, this boy hadn’t progressed at all for 8 years!
Xiao Yun once again calmly nodded.
“Has your talent returned?” Xiao Hu asked as he looked at the youth in front of him.
“We’ll have to see,” Xiao Yun replied.
Xiao Hu exclaimed, “It’s good that you were able to break through, that’s already good enough. If the old patriarch knew about this, he would be incredibly happy.”
After chatting for a bit, Xiao Yun decided to leave. “Thanks for helping me out, Uncle Hu. I’ll be going now.”
“Mm, you can go now,” Xiao Hu replied.
Xiao Yun walked away with the demonic python on his shoulders.
“I hope young master Yun can regain his talent again,” Xiao Hu said to himself as he watched Xiao Yun leave.
Over the past few years, Xiao Yun had painstakingly trained every day, and his spirit had never been broken. Despite knowing that he wouldn’t break through, he hadn’t given up, and continuously persisted. Who could compare to him within the younger generation?
Xiao Hu was quite moved, and now after seeing that Xiao Yun had broken through, he felt especially happy.
“Young master Yun, where did you go yesterday?”
After returning home, Huan’Er and Xiao Ling’Er asked him anxiously, “Big bro, are you alright?”
Xiao Yun gave a cheerful laugh and said, “I’m alright. Huan’Er, tell Aunty Li to cook this python as stew. This demonic beast will be good nourishment, and we haven’t had a big feast in a while. You guys can have the skin to make a soft armour to ward off the cold.”
After pa.s.sing on the demonic python to Huan’Er, Xiao Yun immediately went to take a bath and put on some clean clothes.
After the meal, Xiao Yun felt that his body and mind had fully recovered.
“A demonic beast’s meat is simply extraordinary,” Xiao Yun said as he nodded in satisfaction. “Looks like I should hunt some more demonic beasts in future to eat.”
Not only did the meal help him recover, but it even helped his little sister’s body to become nourished again.
“I need to work hard and cultivate so that I can step into the Innate realm as soon as possible.” As night fell, Xiao Yun sat on his bed as he started to gather Heaven and Earth Essence Qi. After what happened during the day, he desired more power. After all, if it was before, Xiao Li would have easily beaten him down.
However, this time, he had easily defeated Xiao Li.
“Xiao Cheng, soon I’ll be able to defeat you!” A look of seriousness appeared in Xiao Yun’s eyes as he gripped his hands into fists. His young face shone with resolution as he vowed to wipe away all of his shame.
He knew that Xiao Li had dared to attack him because of Xiao Cheng supporting him.
Otherwise, why would a mere descendant of the branch house dare to attack him?
After all, Xiao Yun was the grandson of the Xiao family’s old patriarch!
As Xiao Yun activated his family’s secret art, he continuously gathered and absorbed Heaven and Earth Essence Qi.
After an entire night of cultivation, the Essence Qi within his dantian became much denser.
It was not until the sun rose did he finally stop.
This time, his Martial Spirit did not take the Essence Qi within his dantian, which greatly increased Xiao Yun’s confidence.
