Chapter 37: Friends.h.i.+p Is Magic (End)
“Don’t try to break away from me… or rather, you are already unable to escape.”
The man gave off an evil laugh as he stood on the factory’s steel girder. Meanwhile, he leaned his body over ever so slightly to show Moli the scene behind him; Cui Yingying was hanging on a girder by a rope. Below her feet, countless black beetles piled up on a slow-growing hill, flooding towards the girl.
Cui Yingying remained conscious, it appeared as if she had already lost her ability to speak and could only emit a meaningless, plaintive cry.
“Weren’t you very arrogant before? Why don’t you show it to me again? Do it!” Seeing how Moli was surrounded by the sea of bugs, the man’s voice became more hysterical, “Aren’t you very good at fighting? Come on, punch me!”
Moli gave the man a hateful glance as she slowly walked forward.
Afterward, the man saw an incredible thing happened. He became so frightened and flabbergasted that he almost dislocated his jaw from it falling. For every step Moli took forward, the bugs stepped back.
“What’re you doing? She’s just a girl! Go, eat her!” He shouted to the bugs at the top of his lungs.
However, that didn’t work at all, as the bugs seemed to ignore his commands.
It wasn’t until this moment, did he finally remembered that his low-level bugs didn’t have brains. Normally, they would rush to bite any prey in front of them, and so a situation where it was necessary for them to ‘encircle’ someone never happened before.
Remembering what happened just now, it wasn’t that these bugs didn’t want to rush to the girl, but it was because they couldn’t!
Not only were these low-level bugs unable, his two life leeches were the same. They flew around the girl and made sharp noises, but had no intention to a.s.sault the girl… No, rather, if you took a careful look, you could even vaguely see that they were strenuously avoiding the girl’s sight.
For the first time, the man started to experience fear in his heart.
“Do you finally get it? It appears that your bugs are even smarter than you, for noticing this earlier.”
As Moli walked, she raised her head up high, looking at the grey robe man. This time, her eyes were expressionless. No disdain, no contempt, no aversion. It was as if someone was gazing at a mere ant.
No margin for dispute, no chance for fluke, numbers already losing their meaning. This was the hopeless feeling that lower creatures faced when the best hunter in the biosphere was present.
Even now as he was standing on the top of the girder, looking down at the girl, the grey robe man didn’t have any sense of superiority, but only absolute horror. In his illusion, he had seen the future; the future about the extinction of human race.
His brain eventually overloaded because he tried to understand what kind of being the girl was. As a burst of dull pain erupted in his head, he didn’t have the energy to spare to control the bugs anymore.
The Ten Thousand Poisonous Insects Magic Circle, which he forced to trap the girl, collapsed. The bugs desperately fled in all directions, trying to run away from this place.
This time, Moli had walked until she was below Cui Yingying. Leaping with ease, she grabbed Cui Yingying.
“This… what’s that…” As an ordinary person, Cui Yingying didn’t have any knowledge about supernatural power. She was aware that something strange was emitting from Moli’s body, but couldn’t manage to perceive as to what it was.
“This is..” Moli thought for a while before speaking in a resolute manner, “the power of our friends.h.i.+p.”
“Are you mocking me?!”
Cui Yingying retorted subconsciously, then gazed at Moli. After a long time, her legs went weak all of a sudden and held Moli in her arms as she cried loudly.
To be honest, Moli was a head shorter than Cui Yingying, so this scene was quite comical.
At this time, a rare helpless expression appeared on Moli’s straight face. She gently flicked her finger on Cui Yingying’s forehead immediately making the girl immediately fall into slumber.
Moli carried the girl on her back, and slowly walked out the factory.
Was I saved? The grey robe man’s whole body was stiffened. Till this time, he couldn’t control himself as his legs collapsed.
However, Moli suddenly turned back and said flatly, “Your race will experience extinction.”
All of a sudden, the bugs who were fleeing in all directions, including the two leeches, frozen in mid movement and then collapsed onto the floor. They had lost their lives, including that of the two life leeches. It was like flies that experienced pesticide, where they soundlessly collapsed onto the ground, completely dead.
The grey robe man had an incredulous look on his face as he saw what had just occurred. However, before he understood what all of this meant, he vomited ceaselessly as countless dead worms were being vomited out from his mouth. It didn’t stop until he had none left; only chunks of black blood clots were coming out of his mouth.
Soon after, he had nothing left to vomit, and he fell down from the steel girder.
At the same time, the whole earth, every person who fed the same poisonous insects like the grey robe man did, suddenly found their poisonous insects to be dead without any reason… especially the low-level poisonous insects. Maybe within a hundred years the people who mainly feed poisonous as their supernatural powers had to live in seclusion…
However, Moli didn’t care about these. She simply lifted up her hands and the abandoned factory returned to the real world. Afterward, she left with Cui Yingying, and didn’t look back again.

“Bugs! Many bugs! Moli, run!”
Cui Yingying suddenly woke up from her nightmare and found herself sprawled on top of her coffee table, with her unfinished homework in front of herself.
Was it just a dream?
She tried to remember the nightmare but found that many scenes had become vague, or better yet, she simply couldn’t remember.
At this time, Moli suddenly came over with a plate. A sweet aroma started to fill the air
“Good morning.” She said to Cui Yingying.
“Oh… oh…” Cui Yingying didn’t still recover, but blankly answered.
Then a new memory came into her mind.
Right. She invited Moli to dinner at home last night, and then Moli said she wanted to copy her homework… And then? She had to do her homework under Moli’s observation, then she inexplicably fell asleep.
Cui Yingying looked up at the clock in the living room and found it was already more than six o’clock in the morning.
So Moli stayed here the whole night?
“Breakfast.”
Moli pushed the plate in front of Cui Yingying.
“Well, thank you.” Cui Yingying picked up the food and gently nibbled on it. She found it to be crispy and delicious as well as unexpectedly good. “This toast is pretty good!”
“… This is a fried egg.”
“…”
What kind of material changes could make a fried egg turn into a toast?!
“Homework’s not finished yet.” Moli ignored Cui Yingying’s wonderful expression as she reminded Cui Yingying of her situation.
“Ah, I have only less than an hour! It’s a little difficult to do in that short amount of time…” Cui Yingying dejectedly lowered her head and muttered.
It was her third day in the new school and she didn’t do her homework… She was afraid that this would give the teachers a bad impression of her.
“I’m done. Do you want to copy it?” Moli took out her homework (10% accuracy rate) and asked.
“Gee, can I?”
“We are friends.”
Due to Moli’s words, Cui Yingying was silent for a moment, but then a mostly cheerful smile appeared on her face. “Yes, we are friends.”
Eventually, because the error rate was too high, the teacher called the two girls to the office. But that was another story.
