Chapter 408 Mu Sijue’s Secret
Regardless who Xu Youning really was, when she was working for Mu Sijue, she was dedicated and wholehearted, and never went against Mu Sijue’s will.
That was the first time she didn’t obey him. Like an unbridled horse with no restraints, determined to go somewhere else.
Mu Sijue didn’t look happy about it. He walked to the backseat and opened the car door abruptly, staring at Xu Youning menacingly.
Xu Youning couldn’t stand his “torturing look” and explained, “It’s not very convenient for me to live here…” Actually, she just wanted to stay away from Mu Sijue.
Mu Sijue seemed to see through Xu Youning’s little tricks and asked with a sneer, “Where will you be staying then?”
“Just a hotel.” Seeing that Mu Sijue was calm, Xu Youning kept going, without a worry, “Can you ask your people to pack my belongings? I will call Ah Guang and ask him to help me find a hotel.”
“Ah Guang is not helping,” said Mu Sijue coldly, “he went back to City G.”
“…” Xu Youning tried to pull off a smile. “I can book the hotel myself. Can you…” She just wanted Mu Sijue to ask his people to help her pack. But before she could finish her sentence, Mu Sijue suddenly held her in his arms and took her out of the car.
She subconsciously put her arms around his neck, but then she realized that it was quite inappropriate and she let go of her hands, trying to get away from him, “Mu Sijue, what are you doing!?”
“…”
“Mu Sijue, let me down!”
“…”
“Believe or not, I will break your leg with my walking stick!”
If it was in the past, Xu Youning would not dare to threaten Mu Sijue like that. But recently, she had even confessed to him that she had fallen for him. Compared to that, threatening him seemed trivial. The worst case scenario would be Mu Sijue telling her to get the h.e.l.l out, big deal.
“Shut up!” No one dared to talk to him like that.
Xu Youning met his gaze, intimidated. She shut her mouth, thinking that maybe she could later try to run away.
Mu Sijue had been holding her, gray-faced all the way to the bedroom on the second floor before he threw her on the bed.
Without any gentleness, the way he threw her on the bed didn’t hurt Xu Youning. She retracted subconsciously, grabbing a blanket as a defense. “What do you want?”
She confessed, he rejected. Okay fine, she was cool, without resentment and complaint, because she wasn’t allowed to and she had no grounds to hold a grudge.
However, she could choose to stay away from Mu Sijue, right?
Mu Sijue looked like a millennium iceberg. “Before leaving City A, stay here and don’t play any tricks.”
“No!” Xu Youning rejected without hesitation. “I’m staying in a hotel!”
“Xu Youning,” Mu Sijue looked murderous with his coldly brooding eyes as he spoke, “Bargaining with me, huh? You wanna die?”
Xu Youning had been familiarizing herself with Mu Sijue for a long time, but she still couldn’t face his glare. She turned away and said, “I’m not bargaining with you. I’m just getting my freedom back!” It was pitiful enough that she was rejected. She didn’t want to lose her freedom.
“Pfft.” Mu Sijue sneered. “A person who needs a walking stick to walk. What kind of freedom do you want?”
Xu Youning was p.i.s.sed. She glared and said, “What do you mean? A temporarily disabled person deserves no freedom?”
“Spill more bulls.h.i.+t and you will be grounded in this room.” Mu Sijue was, obviously threatening Xu Youning to get her to compromise.
Xu Youning was so angry that her cheeks turned red, but her hands were tied. After all, he was the great Seventh Brother, and she was just a n.o.body.
Seeing that Xu Youning finally gave up, Mu Sijue left her room.
Ah Guang did go back to City G. But even if he were still in City A, he couldn’t let Ah Guang book a hotel for Xu Youning, and he definitely couldn’t let Ah Guang accompany Xu Youning days and nights in a hotel as he had done in the hospital.
A guy and a woman, in a hotel. He didn’t want think about what could happen.
“But if there were no people guarding her in the hospital 24/7, who knew what Kang Ruicheng would do to her? Has she thought about it?”
“She was. .h.i.t by a car and broke her leg. Did she hurt her brain too?”
……
That way, Xu Youning was forced to live in the villa.
However, it wasn’t as bad as she had imagined.
The next day, when she woke up, Mu Sijue had already left. She had her breakfast and lunch in her room, and the rest of the time, she was either sleeping or playing online games. She felt so good not seeing Mu Sijue.
At around six o’clock, the sky darkened. The helper came and knocked on her door. “Miss Xu, dinner is ready.”
“Oh, have it sent to my room please.” Xu Youning was so caught up in the game that she wouldn’t even look up. Faintly, she heard the sound of the door being opened. But she was too absorbed in the game that she didn’t react.
Not until a chill approached did she suddenly realize that something was wrong. Raising her head, she saw Mu Sijue.
“Why are you back so early?” Xu Youning was surprised and repulsed at the same time.
“If I didn’t come back this early, how would I know that you were living here so well?” Mu Si stared at Xu Youning’s computer screen, with an unknown emotion.
“I can only stay here. Why can’t I be comfortable and have fun?” Xu Youning closed her computer. Looking at Mu Sijue, she grinned and said, “You thought that I would be depressed and look miserable here, right? Pfft, I’m not an idiot. Only an idiot would feel sad because of you!”
To prove that she was doing well, Xu Youning decided to eat downstairs.
The stairs of the villa were round-shaped, which made it more difficult for a temporarily disabled person like her to get up and down the stairs. Mu Sijue was right behind her, so she swore to herself that even she fell, she would need to fall down gracefully and non-embarra.s.singly.
But still, she needed to be careful. Or else, she would probably need to stay in the hospital for another month, looking hideous and embarra.s.sing.
In the end, Mu Sijue couldn’t stand Xu Youning’s outrageously slow speed. He grabbed her walking stick, threw it aside, then held her up with arms on her waist.
Xu Youning was accustomed to his sudden moves, but when his breath lingered in her nose, her heart was beating like crazy.
She didn’t want Mu Sijue noticing any weirdness of hers. She turned away, and enjoyed Mu Sijue’s ‘service’ like as if it were for granted.
Seeing that view, the helper wasn’t surprised at all. She served them their fill of soup and rice, and stood aside.
Mu Sijue was always decisive and intimidating. But Xu Youning had to admit that he seemed like he had been born with the knowledge of manners and courtesies in his blood. Even when he was having a meeting with the head of a mafia group, who may bang the table and make all the sounds, he never made a sound when he was eating, nor was there any sound of clicking or clas.h.i.+ng with the plates and cutlery.
Plus, with his outstanding chiseled features, he always seemed to be the unique one among all the people. With his intimidating charisma, he was incredibly charming.
In private, watching him eat was a visual treat.
Xu Youning looked at him for a few seconds, then forced herself to withdraw her sight. She had already fallen into it. She couldn’t let herself go deeper. Otherwise, she would not be able to pull herself out when she had to leave.
After dinner, Sir Mu went back to his room to take a phone call. Xu Youning had a hard time coming down so she was watching TV on the couch in the living room.
The helper sent her a plate of fruit and asked her if she had recovered well.
“It’s been okay.” Xu Youning had a grape. “I won’t be needing a walking stick in a week I guess.”
The helper nodded in agreement, then said, “It should recover well. I made the meal according to the recipes given by Mr. Mu. It was nutritious.”
“Thank…” Before Xu Youning could say the last word, she stared at the helper inconceivably. “Mu Sijue writes recipes?” That was shocking. Not shocking in a sweet way, but in a terrifying way.
“Of course not.” The helper smiled. “Mr. Mu specially asked someone to customize it. He just gave it to me and asked me to cook based on it.”
“……”
“Mr. Mu is very attentive to you,” said the aunt.
“…I was. .h.i.t by a car because of him, he should be thoughtful.” Xu Youning forcibly stopped herself from putting too much thoughts into that. “Plus, the earlier I am cured, the earlier I can work for him.”
“Yeah, he did this because he wants me to continue working my a.s.s off for him, not because he cares about me.”
Although she convinced herself, she was muddled. She had no idea how she got back to her room. Then, Kang Ruicheng called. She picked it up after it had rung three times.
“It’s unlikely to cooperate with Mike. Now, someone is going to make a deal with Mu Sijue. Find out his offer.”
“…” Xu Youning wasn’t listening at all.
“A Ning?” Kang Ruicheng was irritated. “What are you doing!?”
Xu Youning snapped back to reality and said, “Find out his offer, then?”
“I’ll contact them, and will make an offer that’s ten percent lower than Mu Sijue’s,” Kang Ruicheng said.
“You’ll compete with them by wasting money?” Xu Youning was slightly surprised. “I thought you said it was stupid.”
“Mu Sijue isn’t the kind of opponent we have encountered before. This is the only way,” Kang Ruicheng said, “Remember, you must lure him into taking the initiative to tell you his offer. If you ask for it, he would suspect you.”
“I see.” After a pause, Xu Youning continued, “I need to tell you something.”
“…”
“You asked me to go get Mu Sijue. You actually were asking me to seduce him, right?” Xu Youning ridiculed herself. “The truth is you gave me too much credit for it. He doesn’t like me, at all. If you’re trying to pull this trick off, you might as well just ask somebody with big b.o.o.bs. That might work.”
“…” Kang Ruicheng was silent on the phone for a long time. “You told him you liked him?” he said, with unclear emotions.
“…Yes.” Xu Youning looked up at the ceiling. “Unfortunately, this big fish couldn’t be hooked.”
She hung up the phone, then turned on the computer and continued to play games calmly.
She had played that game for many years. Also, she was one of the top players in her server. But for the past six months, she was so busy dealing with Mu Sijue that she didn’t have time for leveling up. So, it was time for her to grab more game experience and catch up with those guys who teased her.
She failed in the game of love. At least, she needed to win on the computer game!
At that moment, Xu Youning had yet to realize that she would be betrayed by that game in the far future.
