Chapter 984 Sijue, Youning Was Sick
Su Jian’an agreed without hesitation. “Okay, no problem! I will definitely help you get to the bottom of it!”
She looked as if she had received an important task from her superior.
After giving birth to two children, Su Jian’an was much more mature. Mu Sijue had not seen her in such an animated state for a long time.
Mu Sijue wondered, “Are you… all right?”
Su Jian’an smiled and shook her head, “I’m fine.”
“Then why are you so excited?” Mu Sijue looked at Su Jian’an quizzically. It was hard to tell whether he was really confused or just teasing her, “I thought you would only feel excited when you see Boyan.”
“Well, don’t think too much about it,” Su Jian’an said seriously, “I just feel it’s my honor to contribute a little to your future happiness.”
After all, not everyone in the world had the chance to play a part in Mu Sijue’s life!
Mu Sijue finally realized that Su Jian’an and Xiao Yunyun really had the ability to make others speechless if they wanted to tease someone.
So he chose the easy way out; he fled from the room.
“I’m going to visit Auntie Tang.”
Then Mu Sijue left the treatment room. Looking after him, it was hard to tell that he was injured.
Su Jian’an wanted to tell Xiao Yunyun that it was completely unnecessary to worry about Mu Sijue’s kidney.
He seemed not to be affected at all.
Su Jian’an followed him out of the treatment room and went to the reception desk. The nurse there told her that Yang Shanshan had just finished her examination and was resting in the ward.
So she went to Yang Shanshan’s ward and knocked on the door.
After a long time, Yang Shanshan responded, “Come in.”
It was quite evident she had cried although she tried her best to cover it up.
Su Jian’an pushed the door open and walked in. Seeing it was her, Yang Shanshan was suddenly in no mood to reapply her makeup. She looked at her unhappily and said, “Su Jian’an, you can have a good laugh at me this time!”
“Miss Yang, you think too much,” Su Jian’an sat down and said helplessly, “in fact, I’ve never thought about laughing at you.”
Yang Shanshan snorted and said with disdain, “Stop your sweet-talking!”
Su Jian’an thought that since Yang Shanshan thought she was sweet-talking, then she should really tell her some home truths.
She smiled gently but every word she said was as sharp as a knife, “In fact, when a person is laughed at by others, usually it’s because he or she had acted like a clown.”
Yang Shanshan’s eyes glazed over for a moment before she realized what Su Jian’an meant. Her eyes widened and she glared at Su Jian’an and shouted, “What do you mean? Get to the point. Don’t beat around the bus.h.!.+”
Su Jian’an had a headache—it was really hard to communicate with Yang Shanshan. It could not have been easy for Mu Sijue to bear with her for a day!
She tried her best to explain so that Yang Shanshan could understand, “Do you know how you made yourself look like a fool? Let me tell you. It was when you created such a scene in the hotel the day before yesterday. Think about it. If you didn’t cause trouble in the lobby, why would Sijue take you away from that hotel?”
Yang Shanshan was speechless, but she was not willing to admit that Su Jian’an was right. Therefore, she turned her head away and did not look at Su Jian’an.
Su Jian’an didn’t care about Yang Shanshan’s feelings and continued, “Miss Yang, I came to you just for Youning and Sijue.”
“It’s Xu Youning again! Can you stop mentioning that woman?” Yang Shanshan jumped up from the bed and yelled at the top of her voice, “Sijue took the knife for that woman, and you came here for that woman. Why do you care so much about that wretched spy?”
Anger, grievance as well as guilt appeared on Yang Shanshan’s beautiful face.
Su Jian’an keenly noticed that Yang Shanshan subconsciously lowered her voice when she said Mu Sijue had taken the knife for Xu Youning.
She guessed right. The wound on Mu Sijue’s back was caused by Yang Shanshan.
And the point was that she was actually targetting Xu Youning but accidentally stabbed Mu Sijue.
Su Jian’an thought she could change the topic.
She tried to guide Yang Shanshan, “Miss Yang, are you still not going to give up Sijue?”
“Why should I give up?!” Yang Shanshan’s delicate face was full of unwillingness, “Xu Youning is an undercover agent and Brother Sijue’s enemy. She can’t be with him! I’m the most suitable person for him!”
“Miss Yang, Sijue loves Youning.” This sentence was like a heavy bombsh.e.l.l for Yang Shanshan. After a pause, Su Jian’an continued, “Let me tell you more. Sijue has proposed to Youning. If Youning didn’t abort her child, Sijue would have married Youning.”
Yang Shanshan seemed to be struck by something. She shook her head and refused to face the facts. “No… it’s impossible…”
“You think it’s impossible for them to be together. But Sijue has broken many rules for Youning and it’s even okay to hurt himself to save her,” Su Jian’an thought of a popular saying on the Internet and felt it was necessary to tell Yang Shanshan, “Miss Yang, the biggest mistake in a person’s life is not stubbornness or selfishness, but to love someone who doesn’t love you. Even if you persist, you will be hurt in the end.”
Yang Shanshan’s eyes gradually filled with despair, and she began to plead, “Stop… please…”
Su Jian’an knew that Yang Shanshan was about to break down, but she continued, “You’ve always emphasized that Youning was an undercover agent. But have you ever thought deeply about it? In this world, Sijue is the person who knows best that Youning is an undercover agent. Even so, he’s still willing to stand up for her. He really loves her, no matter if you want to face this fact or not.”
Yang Shanshan covered her ears with all her strength. She screamed and squatted down, wailing.
She didn’t want to give in… just didn’t…
She could rival Xu Youning in every aspect. Why did she still lose out to Xu Youning?
Hearing Yang Shanshan’s desperate crying and although she sympathized with her, Su Jian’an couldn’t help saying, “Miss Yang, maybe you think Youning is not good enough for Sijue. But as long as Sijue doesn’t think so, others are not qualified to comment on their relations.h.i.+p. And you can’t imagine what Youning has done for Sijue.”
“Xu Youning has done something for Brother Sijue?” Yang Shanshan sneered, “Su Jian’an, are you kidding me?”
Su Jian’an couldn’t explain too much to Yang Shanshan.
If Xu Youning really hid some secrets as they expected, the first thing they should do after finding out the truth was to protect Xu Youning.
If Yang Shanshan knew too much, it would not do Xu Youning any good.
Su Jian’an took out two tissues and handed them to Yang Shanshan, saying, “Miss Yang, just do Sijue a favor. Please tell me why Youning didn’t resist when you stabbed her with your knife?”
Yang Shanshan glared at Su Jian’an and did not speak for a long time. However, she was a little hesitant.
Su Jian’an noticed Yang Shanshan’s hesitation. She was almost sure that Xu Youning did not think that Yang Shanshan was no match for her, but that something beyond her control had happened when Yang Shanshan stabbed her.
She tried to persuade Yang Shanshan, “Miss Yang, this is very important to Sijue. I hope you can tell me the truth.”
Yang Shanshan’s att.i.tude changed a little. “Why is it so important?” she asked.
“I can’t tell you now,” Su Jian’an said mysteriously, “unless you tell me the truth.”
Yang Shanshan’s curiosity about Mu Sijue finally overwhelmed her jealousy of Xu Youning.
She said unwillingly, “I don’t know why but Xu Youning’s face suddenly became very pale and she couldn’t fight back at all. I think she was… sick.”
Su Jian’an’s heart jolted. She questioned, “Can you tell me more details? What’s wrong with Youning?”
Yang Shanshan pointed at her head and said, “She seemed to have a headache.”
“Ooh, I see. Thank you.”
After saying that, Su Jian’an turned around to leave Yang Shanshan’s ward.
She had to tell Sijue that Xu Youning was sick, as soon as possible.
If she remembered correctly, Mu Sijue had mentioned before that Xu Youning seemed to be uncomfortable. But later, Youning explained that it was because she was pregnant, which rea.s.sured Mu Sijue. He had been so happy that he gradually forgot about Xu Youning’s discomfort.
Now it seemed that Xu Youning was not simply pregnant.
“Hey, wait!” Yang Shanshan stopped Su Jian’an, “You haven’t told me why Xu Youning’s condition is so important to Brother Sijue!”
Su Jian’an smiled and said distinctly, “It’s about his marriage.”
Yang Shanshan was stunned. When she realized what it meant, Su Jian’an had already left.
She screamed crazily. Half a minute later, she suddenly calmed down and burst into tears.
She liked Mu Sijue so much, but everyone, including Mu Sijue, liked Xu Youning!
What’s good about Xu Youning? She was Mu Sijue’s enemy. What could she do for him?
In a fit of anger, Yang Shanshan smashed everything in the ward and then called Mu Sijue, only to find that she couldn’t get through to his number nor could she send him any messages.
Mu Sijue had advised her not to waste time on him. In fact, he wanted to tell her not to pester him anymore.
Mu Sijue was indeed heartless enough. He didn’t give her any chance.
In the past, she would not have given up just like this.
However, her father was sick now, so she couldn’t spend all her time on Mu Sijue.
Yang Shanshan borrowed a phone from a nurse and texted Mu Sijue—”Brother Sijue, I’ll be going back to City G.”
When Mu Sijue received this message, he was on his way to Shen Yuechuan’s ward from Tang Yulan’s ward.
He glanced at it and deleted it without replying. Then he pushed the door open and walked into Shen Yuechuan’s ward.
Su Jian’an came in right after Mu Sijue. She was out of breath as she had run over in a hurry.
Mu Sijue suddenly had a bad feeling. He frowned and asked, “What did Shanshan tell you?”
Su Jian’an gasped and said, “Yang Shanshan said that Youning didn’t resist at that time because she was not able to.”
Mu Sijue’s eyes turned cold. “Why?” He asked.
Su Jian’an responded slowly, “Yang Shanshan guessed that Youning was sick.” After a pause, she pointed at her head and said, “Sijue, can you recall whether Youning had a headache before?”
