Chapter 2 (1)

With an aggrieved expression, Shen Wei Jun looked at the last remaining empty seat in the cla.s.sroom.  Which happened to be next to none other than Li Wei Feng.

Looking ahead, the huge cla.s.sroom was packed, apart from the seat there were no empty chairs.

This is not possible, the number of desks and chairs placed in each cla.s.sroom should be are greater than the number of students in each cla.s.s.  She has never encountered where there are no seats in the cla.s.sroom.

But today……

No, this is not quite right, she still has a seat to be able to sit, but that seat is next to that person’s side.

Shen Wei Jun heard the bell ring.  The professor is always on time so she did not have the strength to add more chairs and desks from the next room.  So she has no choice but to go to the only seat available and sit down.

As she sat, around them seems to be drifting snickers but the students are very restrained because the professor walked in.

“Let’s begin roll call.”  The professor knocked the book on the table letting the students quiet down. His gaze is full of suspicion as he asks the cla.s.s, “What’s strange?  How come this room is so full?”

The professor asked, making the students laugh.

“Why are you laughing?  Want to use this technique to cover people playing truant?  I’ll call out names and will count the numbers.  You don’t want to test me!”  The professor looked at the roll call, while watching the students’ laughing expressions.

Why do some schools have advanced naming systems, but they still use the old way to school?

While other professors are less inclined to make a big deal about roll call, but because he cares about the students’ attendance, he still persists.  This is just his personal style and is like this with each cla.s.s.

Calling out the names corresponding to numbers on the attendance, the professor found that the students are really no less!  He said to the cla.s.s, “Very good, everyone is here so we can start.”

Shen Wei Jun opened the textbook, listening intently.  While in cla.s.s she is focused, regardless of the noise around her, she won’t spend the slightest effort acknowledging it.

In a blink of an eye, cla.s.s was over and the students reverberated back to chatting noisily.  Only she remained silent.

She had thought that Li Wei Feng had arranged it so that she had no choice but to sit next to him, and that there would be an earth shattering confession.  However, he didn’t say a word and just propped his head on his hand looking at her with a frown.

This kind of silent attention made Shen Wei Jun nervously look up.

But he didn’t say anything and she didn’t know what to say to him either.

A short period of silence between the two of them followed leading the other students to feel perplexed especially Lin Gou Bin who couldn’t accept such an atmosphere.

The bell rang signaling the end of cla.s.s.

Today Shen Wei Jun’s third and fourth cla.s.ses are elective courses in another building.  She packed her books, stationery, and bag heading to the back door of the cla.s.sroom.  Her att.i.tude like before is completely without change.

She had just stepped out of the cla.s.sroom, when the other students erupted into verbal attacks.

“Just now, Li Wei Feng, why didn’t you say anything?”

“What do you want me to say?”  Li Wei Feng innocently asked.

“We had especially arranged for you this kind of opportunity.  How could you not have grasped it?”

“What do you want me to grasp?”  Li Wei Feng still with an innocent face.

“Don’t you want to chase Shen Wei Jun?”

“Did I say so?”  Li We Feng smiled while packing his bag.  The next two hours he didn’t have cla.s.ses, so he decided to find a place to rest.

“Why?”

“Aren’t you interested in her?”

Li Wei Feng just smiled, not saying anything.

Shen Wei Jun was walking past the cla.s.sroom window.  Hearing dialogue in the cla.s.sroom, she subconsciously slowed down her pace to see how Li Wei Feng would answer but had not expected silence.  Through the open window, she glanced into the cla.s.sroom straight at him.

He smiled at her and she somehow flushed, then turned and walked away.

“Hateful!” Shen Wei Jun murmured angrily, but this time no one heard her.

Who the h.e.l.l is that man?  Always putting on that kind of smiling face.

Did he want to let her know he was forced into it?  Because of the other student’s egging, he was the victim?

“Hateful!”  Shen Wei Jun was so angry but she didn’t know why.  All in all, she was not happy to see his smile.

After her third and fourth cla.s.s was lunchtime.  On the days she and Xu Yue Qi did not meet, she would eat alone.

She did not follow the crowd to the cafeteria, because she had gone to the convenience store earlier that morning to buy read bean bread, this is her lunch today.

Shen Wei Jun recently wanted to buy a set of children’s books.  At home her nephew would pester her to read him a bedtime story before obediently falling asleep.

But the books are not cheap.  With her scholars.h.i.+p being reduced by 50%, she had to reduce her daily spending to save money.

The first cla.s.s in the afternoon, Shen Wei Jun entered and found a favorite place to sit down.

Once, she came to school relatively late and the students played a prank on her.  Now, she is the first to arrive, so no one can prank her anymore.

But her peace didn’t last long.  She looked up at the door to the cla.s.sroom to see the annoying guy with the smile.

“You’re having this for lunch?”  Li Wei Feng looked at her half eaten red bean bread, frowning.

Shen Wei Jun glared at him.  “What’s it to you?”

She was so defensive, Li Wei Feng laughed it off.  “Do you want to lose weight?  Your body is very slim, no need to abuse yourself.”

Shen Wei Jun ignored him continuing to eat her lunch.

“Hey!  Do you not have money to eat lunch?”

Glancing at her wrist, there seemed to be bruising.  Just a few days ago while eating beef noodles, she did not have any bruising there.

Did she hurt herself?

Still…  Domestic violence?

Li Wei Feng could not help where his thoughts were leading, coupled with her att.i.tude this morning and now she’s hiding in a cla.s.sroom eating bread for lunch.  His imagination lead him to all sorts of scenarios.

“Yes ah!  Who caused me to only get half of my scholars.h.i.+p?!”  Shen Wei Jun looked at him with a sneer.

In fact, she had no one else to blame but herself.  The next exam, she will try harder.  But Li Wei Feng took her angry words seriously.

A few days later after the scholars.h.i.+p fiasco, he was determined to give her the scholars.h.i.+p money.

Today, she had brought a lunch box and had no shame in eating the red bean bread, which made him feel at ease.

“What are you doing?”  Looking at the envelope in his hand.

In the past few days, she had a feeling Li Wei Feng was following her.  Even if they did not have cla.s.s together, he would appear in front of her.  Therefore, he would’ve had to look up her schedule.

This should be about the scholars.h.i.+p, right?

“The scholars.h.i.+p, I want to give it to you.”  Seating himself next to her.

“I never said I was going to fight for it.”  Shen Wei Jun stared at him.  Did he really take her words seriously?

These days, she really had to tighten her spending.  Foregoing spending money on frivolous things.

Things such as bags, shoes, and makeup had to wait.  Her goal was to buy those children’s books.

Today, instead of going to lunch with Xu You Qi like she usually did, she packed a lunch box and is eating in the cla.s.sroom.  Most of her days are like this now.

And recently there is also this guy who is acting mysterious around her.
