Chapter 560: Falling Star I

It was not just Grimm, but hundreds of other elite Dark Sorcerers as well, who rushed over to the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star with looks of surprise and shock painted across their faces.

A tidal wave of more than ten million Bloodprint Creatures managed to work their way up to the bottom of the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star, where they clung stubbornly. For those who made it to the top of the Magnet.i.te Star, however, they were faced with heavy resistance from the defending Magnet.i.te people. Nonetheless, these creatures threw themselves into the jaws of death and seemed to have encroached themselves in every nook and cranny of the Magnet.i.te Star. It should be kept in mind that these were just one portion of the entire inexhaustible force of the Bloodprint Creatures.

The river of blood formed into a makes.h.i.+ft bridge that closed the gap between the Magnet.i.te Star, that hung high up in the sky, and the ground. And on this bridge, hundreds of millions of fleshly beings were squeezing against one another in an attempt to overwhelm the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star with sheer numerical superiority.

Even for a Stigmata Sorcerer who relied on the Soulfire powered by the Mana Pool, control of Soul Slaves on such a grandiose scale was completely impossible!

In Grimm’s personal opinion, it did not make sense that such an endless flow of Bloodprint Creatures were all under the Evil Blood Dreadlord’s command, as the Magnet.i.te people had speculated. This was because such a scenario would go against the Endless World’s fundamental balanced law. A creature that possessed an equal standing to a World Lord that was able to control the entire world?

Somehow, there had to be a deeper reason for this.

“Young master, this river of blood is making me… very uncomfortable. It’s currently absorbing some form of emotional energy, which, deducing from the Magnet.i.te peoples’ language, must be Hate Energy. Even from this distance, I can feel that cold and ominous signal given off by it.”

Hate Energy?

It sounded like it had something in common with the Dark Devourer Infernal Spirit Giant’s Hatred Devouring ability.

Little Myna flung the dried fruit it was previously enjoying into the Dimensional Gap before turning to look at that blood-red river that connected the earth to the sky.

“It must’ve been a Level-5 creature.”

Grimm mumbled as he picked up on something from the river of blood on his senses.

Grimm was not so sure as to the differences between a Level-4 World Lord and a Level-5 World Lord. But what he was completely sure of, was that the low-level Sorcerers around him were all not strong enough to resist such a seismic being.

Rumble, rumble, rumble, rumble…

The Magnet.i.te Star was desperately trying to break its connection with the river of blood so as to put the invasion to a halt. Subsequently, the infinite, inexhaustible Magnet.i.te Ray was constantly clas.h.i.+ng with the cold and menacing river of blood. From time to time, hundreds of so-called Bloodprint Creatures on the violently rocking river of blood would get caught up in the clas.h.i.+ng energy waves, and the explosions that followed ripped them into shreds like paper. The Magnet.i.te people positioned near the river of blood were not exempted and suffered similar consequences as well

The laws of this world…

For some reason, Grimm suddenly felt in his senses that although the Magnet.i.te law was currently the strongest law of this world, it was not this world’s princ.i.p.al law. Instead, it was this river of blood that was inciting this world’s Princ.i.p.al Energy.

Contrary to what he was told, the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star’s Light of Constellation, who was now desperately fending off the invading force, was only utilizing its innate Magnet.i.te abilities.

Something’s wrong!

Grimm suddenly realized the inconsistencies in his train of thought. Could it possibly be that Magnet.i.te Energy was never this world’s Princ.i.p.al Energy to begin with?

Proceeding from that, was the Dagutha’s Light of Constellation’s ability to conjure up an endless stream of Magnet.i.te Energy not enough evidence to prove that it represented this world’s Princ.i.p.al Will?

Why on earth was he feeling this World’s Princ.i.p.al Energy coming from that river of blood?

At the moment, this all seemed way too complex for a low-level Sorcerer like Grimm to comprehend. The quest to get to the root of Grimm’s questions would have to be postponed.

But this all did not matter!

What mattered was… whether or not Grimm would be able to cough up one thousand seven hundred and fifty Sorcerer Essences to pay for the damages done to his own Demon-Hunter Castle to the Holy Tower of Seven Rings.

Although he was a Sorcerer with a Rank-1 Honor Badge, the rewards Grimm reaped would never be the same as what he had from before. Instead of being rewarded for the individual missions he had completed, this time round, his rewards would be provided in the form of a lump sum which was determined by the proportion of effort he dedicated to the overall Demon-Hunting expedition. In other words, this entire Demon-Hunter expedition was like a great big mission that rested upon Grimm’s shoulders.

Though, this did not stop him from using his brain and accepting extra tasks on the side.

For example, Grimm used his special position as an excuse to meet the Grand Peak’s Light of Constellation, with whom he managed to secure a secret deal.

The main objective for the Sorcerers partic.i.p.ating in this Demon-Hunting expedition was to exterminate every one of the Evil Blood Dreadlord’s clone bodies. However, the rewards for such a mission were by no means generous. In Grimm’s under-the-table contract with the Grand Peak’s Light of Constellation, his part of the deal was to hunt down and seal the clones of the Evil Blood Dreadlord, where he would then be handsomely rewarded with one hundred Magnet.i.te Stone Essences for each one brought back. It was also worth mentioning that each of these Magnet.i.te Stones would be standard in terms of their quality and size.

The Magnet.i.te Stone Essence was one of the key alchemy components to making the Void Fortress’s outer layer.

A hundred of these standard-cut Magnet.i.te Stone Essences would roughly be equal to the value of one hundred Sorcerer Essences, which was to say that Grimm needed seventeen of the Evil Blood Dreadlord’s clones to pay off his debt when he returned to the Sorcerers World.

Whoosh, Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

Dozens of mechanical bees numbly dodged the incoming obstacles from the clas.h.i.+ng t.i.tans which were the river of blood and the Magnet.i.te Star. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of elite Dark Sorcerers were deployed onto the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star, and the mechanical bees once again disappeared into the horizon, leaving just as abruptly as they had arrived.

The aim of these elite Dark Sorcerers was not to halt the Dagutha Magnet.i.te Star’s fate of destruction, but instead, to simply collect samples of their enemy for research purposes.

The first reason for this was that the Sorcerers World’s Princ.i.p.al Void Fortress and its many Demon-Hunter Sorcerers had yet to anchor down stably in this world. More time was still required for them to consolidate their structures here.

The second reason, and the more important reason, was that a strong Magnet.i.te World was not what the Sorcerer Coalition wished for!

What the Sorcerer Coalition wanted was a Magnet.i.te World that could develop peacefully and bow down without hesitation to the Sorcerer’s Will, nothing more.

Whoos.h.!.+

Grimm tucked away the Starfall Reconnaissance Craft and started making his way to ground zero of the ma.s.sive battlefield. Amidst the violent collisions between the icy-cold river of blood and the infinite strength of the Magnet.i.te Star, Grimm sailed through the chaotic energy ripples like a small canoe through the cascading waves on a stormy ocean.

The powerful winds messed up Grimm’s black sorcerer’s robe as well as his s.h.i.+ny blonde hair as Little Myna clung fretfully onto his shoulder. Raising the Sabbatic Goat Staff into the air, the peaceful eyes beneath the Mask of Truth observed the ground surface where the battle was inching closer by the second. Then, he yelled out in a low tone.

“Repulsion!”

Buzz…

Invisible ripples spread from his feet on the surface of the Magnet.i.te Star, and soon after, a few weakling fleshly beings started bursting open.

Splat! Splat! Splat! Splat!

The strength of these weaklings were comparable to human Knights from the Sorcerers World. Somehow, they were so weak that they were unintentionally killed by Grimm’s energy ripples that had been released effortlessly.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoos.h.!.+

The sudden turn in events here seemed to have attracted the attention of many of the defending Magnet.i.te people. One after another, orbs of light flew over and looked at these fleshly creatures, which had sprung from some unknown location, with surprise. While their faces were burning with hostility, Grimm took his time and revealed a turquoise-colored Magnet.i.te Stone.

“You are the Sorcerer the Grand Peak summoned from the faraway Sorcerers World?”

The largest orb amidst the Magnet.i.te people exclaimed in astonishment.

Despite its size, Grimm could feel that this Magnet.i.te person was merely a Level-1 creature.

It was obvious that the upper echelons of the Magnet.i.te people knew that the Grand Peak Magnet.i.te Star had intended to contact the faraway Sorcerers World to request for their help.

“Caw caw caw caw, if you all can’t continue holding onto this rock, you can safely retreat to the Grand Peak Magnet.i.te Star! Rest a.s.sure for the mighty Sorcerers World will restore order to this world! Joining the Sorcerer Coalition is the smartest move you Magnet.i.te people will ever make, caw caw caw!”

Myna laughed arrogantly on Grimm’s shoulder.

Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak…

As the surrounding Magnet.i.te people lowered their guard against Grimm, a team of more than a thousand half-meter-long bugs charged toward their position. The enemy was so close that Grimm could see the black and white patterns on their bodies, which pervaded with a blood-stained signal.

“So this is a Bloodprint Creature huh?”

Grimm’s eyes lit up as they were locked onto his mission’s goal.
