Chapter 6: w.a.n.gye, Buying Things Requires Paying With Money

There was a s.p.a.cious yet plain and simple horse-drawn carriage that had unknowingly parked outside Shen De Xuan[1] . Although the person sitting inside the carriage was unable to see the situation that was going on inside, his hearing ability was much better compared to that of ordinary people and was able to hear what was currently happening inside Shen De Xuan very clearly.

Inside the carriage, there was a young man fully dressed in red brocade clothing and who had a pair of long eyebrows, handsome beyond worldly standards. A face filled with laughter while lazily leaning against the carriage and looking with ridicule towards the quiet man facing him.

“Feng Zhi Yao, are you too idle?” A man dressed in white sitting upright in a wheelchair looked indifferently at the man in front of him who wouldn’t stop laughing. Although he was sitting in a wheelchair, his back was perfectly straight that it almost seemed as though no matter what happened, it wouldn’t cause him to collapse in general. A clean and handsome mien that had a trace of mild-mannered flavor, yet that pair of clear eyes could make the person being looked at by him feel a certain chill. He inclined his head to look towards the man dressed in brocade, a slightly hideous scar on the left side of his face was undoubtedly exposed, immediately destroying the original appearance of looking cultured and refined, causing people not to dare look straight at him.

With the ‘shua’ sound of unfolding the fan in his hands, Feng Zhi Yao leisurely fanned and said, “Am I not too idle? Laoyezi[2] doesn’t allow me to go outside the capital. The shopkeeper’s and Ye Ying‘s faces changed. The shopkeeper’s face is naturally for the generous ill-gotten gains from his commissions. Now although w.a.n.g s.h.i.+‘s[22] eldest daughter was the Zhao Yi niangniang[23] in the palace, but the foundation of the w.a.n.g family was too meager that otherwise at that time the w.a.n.g family’s di[24] daughter wouldn’t have married into the Ye family to become a concubine. Although in these recent years there was a turn for the better, but there were only a few who were currently serving as government officials. This shopkeeper was w.a.n.g s.h.i.+‘s tangxiong[25], he originally was only staying at home with nothing to do, where else can he spend his days comfortably like the time in which he managed the Shen De Xuan?

If they were to lose control over this Shen De Xuan, it wouldn’t be very convenient in the future.

Ye Li could care less what these two people were thinking on the inside and with a smile on her face, pulled Ye Ying and said, “For the time-being let’s not be concerned over these matters, what was fourth younger sister going to do in coming to Shen De Xuan at this time?

Mo Jing Li‘s complexion turned somewhat ugly, what can he do? If he were to decline, others will only think that he wanted to take other people’s things for free of charge. If he were to say that he wasn’t buying it and the people present all knew that it was something that was to be given to the empress dowager, not buying it because it was too expensive would make him appear to be unfilial. This Ye Li was said in the capital to have no looks, no talent, and no virtue, but it hadn’t been said that her very nature would actually be this cunning.

Letting out a cold humph, Mo Jing Li nodded his head in a way that could be considered as agreeing. As if in that moment he was unwilling to to stay in the store any longer, he pulled up Ye Ying to go outside. Even that shopkeeper w.a.n.g‘s calls weren’t cared about.

Ye Li smiled in satisfaction, waving a hand towards He s.h.i.+fu with a smile and said, “w.a.n.gye is indeed frank and straightforward. He s.h.i.+fu, make sure to appoint someone to send over the bill to the w.a.n.g fu.
