Chapter 5520 Heaven Vein Mystic Realm
Yue Zifeng killed that elder with one stroke of his sword, shocking everyone. Their eyes darted toward the una.s.suming young man, who carried no visible aura and resembled nothing more than a frail scholar. Yet, this same man had just revealed himself as a peerless sword cultivator.
Amongst the gathered experts, there were three Divine Emperors, sixteen half-step Divine Emperors, and over forty individuals like the elder Yue Zifeng had just slain—those who had reached the bottleneck before the Divine Emperor realm.
However, the three Divine Emperors were nearing the end of their longevity. Their imposing auras served more as a deterrent than an actual threat.
The real strength of this group lay in the sixteen half-step Divine Emperors and the forty experts. And yet, one of these so-called pillars had fallen with just a single strike for saying too much.
The most terrifying aspect of Yue Zifeng’s attack wasn’t its speed or precision but its ethereal nature. The sword’s energy seemed completely intangible, bypa.s.sing all defenses. Even if they were prepared, none of the experts present had the confidence to block such an attack. It was unlike anything they had encountered, even in their countless years of cultivation.
As the crowd stood frozen in fear, Long Chen walked forward. Not a single person dared to obstruct him now. They parted instinctively, leaving a clear path for Long Chen and Yue Zifeng as they approached the gates.
“Left Emissary Ye, it’s been a while. You haven’t changed at all,” Long Chen said with a relaxed smile, amazed by Ye Lingkong’s laziness.
Ye Lingkong’s expression turned awkward. Scratching his head, he muttered, “Elder Xinyue already drew the line. They don’t dare to cross it. There’s no need for us to waste energy on them.”
Only then did Long Chen realize that the line etched into the ground had been drawn by Feng Xinyue herself.
The hostile factions had been enraged by Long Chen’s actions in the Wind Domain Battlefield, where he had mercilessly slaughtered their disciples. As a result, they united in an attempt to suppress the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion.
At the forefront of this alliance was the Brahma Pill Valley. However, when the Divine Emperor from the Brahma Pill Valley caught sight of Long Chen, his composure shattered.
Before coming to the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion, this elder had been confident that Long Chen wouldn’t be a problem. Word had reached him that a divine commander from the Silver Hair Void Crusher had gone to the Dragon Domain to eliminate Long Chen.
With such a figure targeting him, Long Chen shouldn’t have survived. Yet, there he stood, very much alive and glaring at him with cold disdain.
After learning what was going on, Long Chen turned toward the elder from the Brahma Pill Valley. The latter was so old it looked like he was about to fossilize.
Long Chen got straight to the point. “Old fogey, what exactly are you thinking? You’re too scared to attack, yet too stubborn to leave. What are you even doing here?”
The line drawn by Feng Xingyue marked the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion’s bottom line, a clear signal that any further provocation would escalate into full-scale war. However, these scheming elders refused to cross it and chose to just loiter around, pressuring the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion.
In truth, with this kind of friction, Ye Lingkong could have easily baited these idiots into crossing this line and killed them all. However, he was just too much of a slacker. Rather than dealing with more problems, he’d prefer to have one less thing to deal with. Thus, the two sides were just staring at each other like this.
To the lazy a.s.s, the ongoing standoff was a training opportunity for the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion’s disciples, who were enduring the oppressive pressure of multiple Divine Emperors. Since they didn’t dare to attack, he wouldn’t bother with them either.
Frustrated, Tang Wan-er had long since wanted to take the Hidden Dragon Legion and slaughter the old fogeys. But without Ye Lingkong’s approval, she couldn’t do this.
Now that Long Chen had returned, the energy within the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion surged. Both disciples and elders alike were visibly reinvigorated. Long Chen wasn’t just a fighter; he was their mental pillar, the one who had led them to victory in the Wind Domain Battlefield and restored their pride.
When Long Chen called the Brahma Pill Valley Divine Emperor an old fogey, laughter erupted among the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion’s ranks. This same elder had spent the past days spewing infuriating bulls.h.i.+t, but his arrogance directly crumbled under Long Chen’s sharp words.
With his face twisting in fury, the old fogey said, “Long Chen, you call yourself a respected dean. Shouldn’t you show some respect to your elders?”
“Respect? Don’t flatter yourself,” Long Chen sneered. “Respect is earned, not given to a decrepit fossil who lacks both strength and character. What’s next? Should I start respecting turtles just because they live longer?”
“You—” The elder quivered furiously, his hand shaking. Seeing this, his comrades were worried he might just die from rage.
Long Chen rolled his eyes and countered, “You? What about you? If you can’t even form a coherent sentence, go die quietly and let someone who can speak take your place. Boss Long San doesn’t have all day for your nonsense.”
Unable to bear it anymore, another Divine Emperor stepped forward.
This elder said, “Your Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion has gone too far. You’ve slaughtered countless of our disciples yet refuse to apologize. We are here to demand compensation. Is that so unreasonable?”
Long Chen turned to him, his gaze scrutinizing. This elder was from the demonic beast race, though his Blood Qi was so depleted that Long Chen couldn’t even determine his specific lineage.
Seeing this elder wasn’t that rude, Long Chen asked, “What kind of compensation?”
The elder replied, “Your human race has a saying: the dead cannot be revived, and their enmities vanish with them. There is no need to quibble over old grudges—”
“Get to the point,” Long Chen intercepted, waving his hand impatiently.
Just as Long Chen thought this elder wasn’t that bad, he started talking nonsense.
After calming down for a bit, the elder solemnly said, “All we ask is that the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion grant our disciples access to the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm through your pa.s.sageway.”
“The Heaven Vein Mysteric Realm?” Long Chen frowned. He had never heard of it before.
Before he could ask further, a sharp voice rang out, cutting through the air like a blade. “Scram!”
It was Feng Xinyue. Her icy tone left no room for negotiation.
Hearing this, the elder who had just spoken clenched his teeth and growled, “If you refuse, then don’t blame us for fighting to the death with your Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion!”
