Chapter 5542: Invisible Sword Sect
“The Invisible Sword Sect?”
Seeing those people’s robes, Feng Xinyue couldn’t help but frown.
“From their tone, they don’t seem to be friendly,” remarked Long Chen, his gaze sharp as he observed the group.
“The Invisible Sword Sect almost started a war with the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion,” explained Feng Xinyue. “At that time, our pavilion was as weak as it is now. The Invisible Sword Sect took advantage of the situation and even dared to march to our doorstep to bully us. Only when the head pavilion intervened were they driven off. Despite that, they’ve always boasted about that encounter, claiming they ‘defeated’ the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion.”
“So, they're just a pack of braggarts,” Long Chen snorted.
At that moment, a monkey-faced elder sneered and called out, “Eh? Who are you? Where’s He Qingliu? Why isn’t he leading this group? Don’t tell me he’s dead already?”
The elder’s mockery carried a smug air, but Long Chen stepped forward before Feng Xinyue could respond. He shouted, “Shut your monkey mouth. Where did this stray monkey come from? Where is your owner? Be a good little boy and go back to your cage before someone puts you down.”
The elder was rather short, with a sword taller than himself strapped to his back. Even slung diagonally, its tip sc.r.a.ped along the ground. Coupled with his monkey-like face, the elder truly did look like a monkey that had stumbled upon a sword by chance. Even Feng Xinyue struggled to suppress a laugh—there weren’t many people who could insult others like Long Chen.
“Brat, you are courting death!” the elder barked, his voice dripping with menace.
In an instant, he vanished. Gasps erupted from the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion’s disciples as the elder seemed to disappear from their senses. They had never witnessed such a fearsome movement technique before.“I’ll court your little sister!” Long Chen retorted.
All of a sudden, Long Chen slapped the air, and an explosive crack followed, tearing through the void. The elder materialized mid-strike, only to receive Long Chen’s palm with his face.
Shock rippled through the Invisible Sword Sect’s ranks.
“Patriarch!” they shouted in unison. Their revered patriarch was slapped squarely in the face by a mere youth?
The Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion’s disciples were equally stunned. Long Chen had casually swung his hand without mobilizing even a trace of Blood Qi, yet the elder was sent flying as if swatted by a giant.
Even Feng Xinyue was moved by this attack. She knew the elder’s power was formidable—far beyond what Long Chen should have been able to beat. She had been ready to step in at a moment’s notice, but Long Chen had casually dealt with him.
“That was… fast.”
Long Chen stared at his hand in astonishment. Just now, he had instinctively swung his hand, and his power couldn’t even keep up with his reflex.
The elder was so fast that if Long Chen hadn’t acted instinctively, he might not have been able to block the attack in time.
For everyone else, it looked as if Long Chen had cursed the elder’s sister first and then swung his hand. But in truth, it was the opposite—Long Chen had actually attacked first and then added his insult. The elder’s attack had the ability to disturb s.p.a.cetime.
In response, the elder’s eyes turned bloodshot, resembling a rabid beast. His hand instantly gripped the hilt of his sword, and a sharp, oppressive killing intent locked onto Long Chen.
But before he could act, another sharp killing intent locked onto him.
The icy killing intent made his soul shudder. s.h.i.+fting his gaze from Long Chen, the elder’s eyes fell on Yue Zifeng. The latter stood poised like a leopard ready to pounce, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of his sword.
“Old fogey, if you dare to draw your sword, I, Long Chen, swear that none of you will leave here alive. Do you believe me?” Long Chen’s cold, unwavering voice broke the tense silence.
“Long Chen?” The elder’s pupils shrank in shock. “You’re the Long Chen who killed the Silver Hair Void Crusher?”
Long Chen’s expression didn’t change, but inwardly, he was startled. The death of the Silver Hair Void Crusher was supposed to be a tightly guarded secret within the Brahma Pill Valley, known only to a select few. How did this fellow know about it? ȑ
Suppressing his curiosity, Long Chen simply clasped his hands behind his back, saying nothing. The oppressive silence stretched on as both sides gripped their weapons, ready to strike at any moment. The atmosphere was tense.
After what felt like an eternity, the elder slowly released his grip on his sword. Yue Zifeng did the same, though his face was noticeably pale. While the elder’s appearance was laughable, his true strength was overwhelming. Maintaining a lock on him with sword intent had drained Yue Zifeng’s mental energy to its limit.
However, Long Chen could see that the elder also had a hard time under Yue Zifeng’s lock. His forehead was s.h.i.+ny, drenched by sweat droplets.
Even without Feng Xinyue’s presence, the elder wouldn’t have dared to make the first move. Striking Long Chen meant leaving himself vulnerable to Yue Zifeng’s devastating counterattack. Conversely, targeting Yue Zifeng would allow Long Chen to launch an a.s.sault.
Had he not known Long Chen’s ident.i.ty, perhaps he would have attacked Yue Zifeng. However, he hesitated now.
“Long Chen, are you hiding behind the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion? Let me tell you, it’s useless. The Brahma Pill Valley has issued a death warrant on you. The sons of Brahma have been awakened. The moment you step into the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm, it will become your burial ground,” said the elder coldly.
“Go home and pull your millstone. Don’t bother worrying about me,” Long Chen retorted disdainfully.
“Monkeys don’t pull millstones. It’s donkeys,” Yue Zifeng corrected, his expression serious.
“You…!” The elder was apoplectic with rage, and smoke practically came from his nose. He had never been so distressed in his life.
Long Chen waved dismissively, “Hey, a monkey shouldn’t talk so much. If you don’t want to die, scram!”
“Who the h.e.l.l do you think you are?!” shouted someone from the Invisible Sword Sect.
The heavenly geniuses of the Invisible Sword Sect bristled at his arrogance and were about to step forward when the elder raised a hand to stop them. He turned to Feng Xinyue with a sinister smile.
“I don’t know what drugs the Wind G.o.d Sea Pavilion is on, but let me tell you this: the Invisible Sword Sect has formed an alliance with the High Heaven Sword G.o.d Sect. We can settle our enmities in the Heaven Vein Mystic Realm. Hahaha—!”
Before he could finish laughing, Long Chen appeared in front of him like a phantom and slapped him again, this time with even greater force.
“f.u.c.k off!”
