Part 1

「……. Please wait a minute. I’m there’s a mirror around here…..」

Lorraine’s saying that while rummaging the surrounding.

Even if she is way too careless woman, she have at least girlish side, it seems she have mirror.

And then,

「Now, try look at yourself………… No, it might be wrong to call it slide off………….」

When I’m trying to looking at the mirror presented by Lorraine in front of me, certainly reflected on there at the place of the mask is showing some change.

No, this is not the time for caring too much about the place of the mask.

――The shape of the mask is different.

Even though I’m sure that the mask is covering my whole face, only the upper half of it which still remained now, the mouth part is uncovered.

Moreover.

「……. mY sKIn」

To me who saying those words with absentmindedd voice, Lorraine’s nodding and,

「Yeah, that’s right. Though I failed to mention it due to various reason……. Lent. Your appearance is changing」

I said so.

Later, after various confirmation, my appearance was became quite different.

Of course I’m not just mean about the change in the shape of the mask.

When I’m taking off my robe to examining  my body, though some place still withered, it seems more healthy now.

You should be know if I say that the withering is just like hole made on several place your clothes, now change that clothes with your body when alive.

Even if this body is seen by people, it might be dismissed as old wound.

Well, though the so called as wound might be too big to be treated as one, at least you won’t say “Corpse Eating Demon《Ghoul》” immediately right.

Regarding the lower half in which the mask is vanished, the condition is similiar to my body.

Or rather, it gave stronger feeling of a monster than the body, it’s more like Corpse Eating Demon《Ghoul》.

Though there’s some  place which seems healthy, one part around the mouth is too horrible.

Should I say that my gums is showing……… Or rather it gave the feeling of a skeleton.

It seems I’ll be in a deep s.h.i.+t unless I hide this………. It couldn’t be helped, I guess I should do something about this.

When I’m thinking of such thing,

Lorraine is raised her voice in surprise.

When I’m about to ask “What’s matter?”, I saw in the mirror that the mask is melting as if it’s alive and then covering the lower half of my face, now it’s covering the entire part of my face.

It then formed the usual skeleton shaped mask.

Part 2

「……… Lent, could it be that mask didn’t just have an ordinary curse in it？」

Lorraine said that with really interested look in her line of sight.

Certainly, the mask which showing such strange change isn’t just a mask[1].

Well, it doesn’t seems to be just a mask when being cursed though.

While observing the mask, Lorraine is,

「……… Just now when the mask is changing it’s shape, what was you’re thinking about？」

Since she asked that, it was something along the line of “It seems my naked gums is no good, so I must do something about it”.

Thereupon,

「Humph.  Is that mean it’ll change it shape according to your will？ …….. Or maybe it’s a tool that have it’s own will. How rare」

The tool which have it’s own will.

The very example of that is things like demon sword or a weapon who choose it’s own owner, which was made of extremely unique material.

Many of it found in the labyrinth, it said that making it with current technology is far too difficult, many of it is a fine product at the same time a rare one.

That’s why Lorraine is asking for which of those type the mask that I wore on my face is.

But, this is something that bought for several copper coins by Lena.

No matter how you look at it, isn’t that way too cheap for a tool that have it’s own will.

So, the thing Lorraine saying,

「It’s cursed. So that seller probably set those price since he want to let go of it as fast as possible.  That or…………. You can think that mask have a power to manipulating the will of human……….」

Sound so ominous.

Though it can’t be helped due to it’s can’t be taken off curse, I have no choice but being anxious since it’s manipulating as far as my own will.

Since I already became a strange existance.

At least I want it to move with my own will.

But, when you say that, was my action up till now is based on my own feeling…………. I’m quite doubtful about it but.

I was swept by Lorraine.

Lorraine is keep observing the mask.

「…………..Which means that the shape of the mask changed according to your will………. Though it just coming to me, isn’t it already coming off？  」

Saying so as if it’s just coming to her, I see, I thought I should try to taking it off again.

But, the mask absolutely won't budge from my face.

「Can you try to pulling it？」

「Yeah………..」

Part 3

Following Lorraine suggestion, the mask can’t be taken off even when she’s pulling it from both side.

It doesn’t mean that Lorraine is weak.

Though her power is definitely less than that of men, she’s more or less part of adventurer.

She have more power than normal person.

In short, this means that the mask still can’t be taken off from my face yet.

「It’s still no good huh. Will you try to wis.h.i.+ng for it to change it shape again？ 」

I nod to her and then wis.h.i.+ng for changing the shape of the mask in my head.

Therefore the mask is changed as I hoped for and only covered the upper half of my face.

「How about another shape？」

The things which made clear after I’m trying various things following her suggestion was the fact that the mask could change into three form[2].

The form  that was covering only lower half of my face or just the upper half and, the form which covering the entire of my face.

Though it’s not like I can’t change it to other form except of those three, it’s because I’m basically can’t change it to another form except of those three, it was only changing the ornament or it’s pattern.

「……….. Though you can change it shape, it still can’t be taken off huh. It has complicated effect huh. Well, it might be not so bad？ Why you say, it’s because your face is still closer to that of Undying(undead)」

Lorraine is nodding while saying so.

Basically what she say is correct, it’ll be troublesome if the lower half of my face is seen by other people.

Same goes for my body, it have a shape called it’s strange that it’s still moving.

Anyhow, it’s not just an ordinary wound, there’s a place which is so obvious that the bone of that place just removed.

It’ll then lead to “It’s strange that there’s no blood coming out of that wound”.

But, it’s still okay up till now as long as I hide such things.

If judging by appearance, my appearance is plenty enough to be judged as a human.

Moreover………….

I’m really grateful for this. 　But nevertheless, why so suddenly……….. Such thought suddenly come to me.

「COuld iT be, ThE eVOlUTIoN eXIstAncE」

Lorraine also nodded when I muttered such words regarding my current situation.

「It might be the reason. Could it be that you fought against demon in the labyrinth」

I also told Lorraince that I’m going to Water and Moon Labyrinth.

That might be the reason for her guess.

But, I’m tilting my head in confusion.

「ThaT is…….. I woNder hoW it tuRneD tHat Way.  I CerTaiNly is FIGhting AGAinsT a DEmoN But……. It HAPPenEd RIgHT AwAY whEn I’m TUrNEd INto A gHOul…….」

「…….. If you’re making a comparison to that, since you’re at least evolving after you returned to this house, I wonder what was making it different from the one up till that point……… Could it be that you’re evolved after beaten by me? 」

「AS iF………………… I’M Not BEAteN RIght」

Lorraine is telling me her astonis.h.i.+ng theory.

When my eyes opened wide in surprise, she,

「No, it might be not to absolutely right in the point of that. When I’m looking at your current figure…………. Rather than Corpse Eating Demon(Ghoul) you become a Corpse Demon（s.h.i.+ki） , the underling of vampire.  It’s a demon which even lower than Low Rank Vampire（Lesser Vampire）」
