Astonished, Xiao w.a.n.g snuck a glance at Gu Yu Sheng through the rear-view mirror as he started the engine.

The expression on the man’s handsome and beautiful face was indifferent, rendering it impossible to guess his innermost thoughts.

When they drove into the Gu Mansion courtyard, Xiao w.a.n.g saw Liang Dou Kou’s car. He was just about to say, “What a coincidence, Miss Liang is here as well,” but soon after he seemed to realise something, and sent the words back down his throat.

After Mr Gu saw Miss Liang’s car, Mr Gu told him to stop the car. It was only after Miss Liang’s car drove away, that Gu Yu Sheng told Xiao w.a.n.g to return to the mansion. Now that he thought about it, Mr Gu must have predicted that Miss Liang would be at the mansion, which was why he came back. But…… Hadn’t Mr Gu always hated Miss Liang guts?

After we finished eating, I was originally thinking of remaining at the company for some time but, Yu Sheng has meeting in the afternoon. If I stayed there, it would hinder his work, so I came back……”

Up until this point, Gu Yu Sheng had been bewildered over the meaning behind Liang Kou Dou’s series of actions in the car. However, right after her words from inside the house reached his ears, he instantly understood.

Even though she had told his grandfather that she would deliver lunch to him, in reality, she had no intention of going……

The reason she had finished off the food, washed the lunchbox clean, and even rested for an hour on the street, was merely to make it so that when she returned back to the mansion to see his grandfather, her act would appear even more convincing, like she had really had gone to the company and eaten lunch with him.

The Liang Dou Kou in the past had never been like this. Even though she was fully aware that she annoyed him to death, she would still act as if she couldn’t tell at all, and whenever she could find the opportunity, she would come running to his company.

But today she…… At that moment, Gu Yu Sheng suddenly remembered seven days ago, the night of his grandfather’s birthday. I promise you that I can stay as far away from you as possible.”

Just moments before, he never would have imagined that her series of actions on that street was actually for the sake of avoiding him and not bothering him, without alarming his grandfather…… Which means, she really had done as he had wished, and will no longer pester him?

“Grandpa, you’ve had your midday rest already, right? In that case, how about we play a game of chess?” The topic changed in the room.

Gu Yu Sheng snapped out of his thoughts. Instead of walking inside, he retreated two steps, softly closed the door, turned around, and walked down the flight of steps to return to his car.
