Deep Feelings, Shallow Fate (4)

After a few seconds, Gu Yu Sheng, who was sitting in the back pa.s.senger seat, withdrew his gaze from the window. He swept a glance at his chauffeur Xiao w.a.n.g through the rear-view mirror, and didn’t say a word. Instead, he reached out his hand, felt around his bag for a cigarette box, took out one cigarette, placed it between his lips and lit it with a lighter.

As he threw the lighter down, he effortlessly rolled down the window with a push of a b.u.t.ton.  As he slowly released a breath of smoke outside, his gaze drifted towards the direction he had been watching a few moments before.

The street was absolutely empty. The red BMW that was there had already driven away.

The first person who noticed was not him, but his chauffeur, Xiao w.a.n.g.

Several days ago, when he went to visit his grandfather, he had carelessly left behind a doc.u.ment at the Gu Family mansion. Incidentally, that doc.u.ment was needed for the meeting this afternoon. Hence, he took the opportunity at noon during his break time to drop by the mansion.

As soon as he entered the house, his grandfather looked at him with surprise. “Didn’t Xiao Kou send you a message telling you she was going to deliver food to you? Why have you come over as well?”

After he heard those words, he was also extremely taken aback. Then he remembered that he had blacklisted her number a long time ago. How could he possibly receive her text? Thus, he gave his grandfather with a vague excuse, and he left the mansion with the doc.u.ment.

Because he now knew that she had gone to company to deliver him food, after they exited the mansion, he didn’t let Xiao w.a.n.g drive directly back to the company and had him take a detour in the opposite direction instead. Who, however, could have expected that after driving halfway, Xiao w.a.n.g would suddenly let out a sound of surprise and blurt out, “It’s Miss Liang.”

He raised his eyes in pure reflex, and glanced out the window. And sure enough, Liang Dou Kou’s car was parked on the other side of the street.

At first, he didn’t it pay it any mind, and was about to retract his gaze when the corner of his eyes saw, through the winds.h.i.+eld of her car, her, sitting in the car, head bowed, in the process of eating.

Without much thought, he blurted out, “Stop the car.”

After that, he sat in the car, and stared at her through the car window for over two hours.

Didn’t grandfather say that she had gone to the company? Why is she sitting alone in the car, eating, and even was.h.i.+ng the lunch box? After finis.h.i.+ng the food, why is she not in a hurry to leave, but actually leisurely lying down in the car to take a nap?

“Mr Gu?” Xiao w.a.n.g must have felt that that they had stopped here for too long and called Gu Yu Sheng again.

Gu Yu Sheng lightly blinked, snapped out of his deep thoughts and placed the cigarette between his lips. He took a drag and then shot a glance at the direction Qin Zhi Ai’s car had headed.

That was the direction of the Gu Mansion…… That lunchbox was also from the Gu Mansion…… She couldn’t be going back to return the lunchbox, was she?

Gu Yu Sheng flicked the cigarette ash into the bin, then raised his eyelids, and nonchalantly tossed out a sentence, “Turn around, we’re going back to the Gu Mansion.”
