Chapter 23 : Sigurd Tyselius

We went out of our room and headed to the first floor to have our late lunch.

“Oi, look at that. Isn’t that Ice Prince?”

“That person next to him.. Is that Lightning Twin Sword Chris?”

“To think that both of them are partic.i.p.ating for the subjugation quest, what a relief!”

“Hm? Who is that child? The one that holding hands with Chris.”

“Maybe an adventurer as well? But man, don’t you think he’s way too young to become one?”

As soon we hit the first floor, the adventurer from all direction immediately chimed in.

I knew it, everything was because these two were too conspicuous.

Furthermore, between these two man there was me who looked like a child on the outside.

“No no, you guys are wrong. That child is an adult ! He’s the otherworlder that got adopted by Pedrell Adventurer Guild Master, Malik!”

I often see him in the guild.

“Yes, that’s right. Are you also partic.i.p.ating?” I asked the adventurer.

“Yeah! Anyway do you already have a party? Don’t want you to get sweeped up by suspicious guy. Ren specialized in support magic, right? If you don’t have a party yet, why don’t you join mine?”

So he’s also partic.i.p.ating..

I’m grateful for the offer but..

“I’m sorry, but I already have people that I want to party with.” I replied honestly.

“Right, right~ Ren-chan is partying with us you know~” Chris-san pulled me closer by the shoulder and smiled at the adventurer.

“That’s true. Ren-kun is an important member of our party so please refrain from inviting him again.” Fer-san added.

I feel so happy that they regard me as important.

“Eh? You two with Ren? But the gap between your rank..”

I knew it.

It’s unusual right?

Even I was surprised as well.

I was an F-rank, the lowest rank.

The two of them were rank and furthermore, there was only 50 rank people so of course the party was too imbalanced.

“The reason why Ren-chan’s rank is this low is because of Malik-san’s overprotectiveness, right?~ Ren-chan’s itself is strong, you know~” Chris-san defended me.

“Yeah, that’s right. Ren-kun, there’s empty seat over there. Let’s go sit there.”

We sat in a round table with 4 chair.

Chris-san sat diagonally to my right and Fer-san sat diagonally to my left.

“Now, Ren-chan~ What’s for our lunch today?~” Chris-san asked merrily.

He really loved my cooking huh.

“Umm, Fer-san is there anything that you don’t like? Or anything that you like?”

“No, there’s no such thing.”

“Right. Then..” I trailed.

Fer-san also didn’t have any likes or dislikes.

I wonder what should I pick for lunch?

I wanted to pick something that everyone will loves.

“Let’s have onigiris with plenty of side dishes.  There’s karaage, pork picatta, vegetable soup, boiled lotus root, pickled cabbage and the last.. Boiled shrimp. Is this ok for everyone?”

I retrieved the dishes from my magic bag and arranged it on the table while Chris-san ordered drinks for us.

“This is.. Amazing.. Did Ren-kun make all of this?” Fer-san asked.

“Yeah but I can only make home cooked dish so I don’t know whether it will suit Fer-san taste or not..”

“Ah, today’s lunch looks delicious too!~ The drinks will come soon so let’s dig in!~”

Fer-san looked surprised.

Since he grew up eating gourmet food, I wonder whether my home cooked meals will suit his taste?

Ah but he worked as adventurer now,he had to eat in various places to survive so I guess it’d be alright?

“Right. Let’s eat, Ren-kun. Itadakimasu.”

“Ah Fer-san you knew about ‘itadakimasu’ ?”

“Yes, I told you that one of my mothers is an otherworlder, right? I got influenced by her that’s why.”

“I see..”

If I’m not wrong, her name was Manami-sama?

I wonder what kind of person she is?

Since she already have 17 years old daughter she must be already in her 40s.

“Ren-chan!~ This karaage is so tender and juicy! It tastes exceptionally delicious, especially if you dip it in soy sauce! So good!”

“Yes, this onigiri is also delicious and the filling.. Is it fish?

Chris-san was eating karaage with soy sauce and Fer-san was eating onigiri with salmon like fish filling.

Thankfully, my food is to their liking.

“I don’t know the name of the fish but I grilled it and minced it into small pieces as the filling. I’m glad my cooking suit your taste.”

Some of the ingredient in Alsar had the same name as earth but some were not so I still can’t remember the name clearly.

I had to taste each ingredient first before I cook them so I know which one was which since their appearance was a little bit different too.

“Thank you for waiting, here’s your tea.” A waitress came with our drinks.

“Thank you very much.” I thanked the waitress and drank the tea while taking eating my onigiri.

“Is it delicious? Let me have a bite too~”

Suddenly, a deep husky voice whispered into my ear.

“Eh?!” I exclaimed.

I was so surprised that I let go both the cup and my onigiri but thanks to that person’s quick reflex, he caught it easily.

I turned my back to see an unknown male adventurer taking a big bite of my onigiri.

“Oh~ Sig-chan, you surprised Ren-chan~ Come come, take a seat.” Chris-san beckoned for the male adventurer to come and sit with us.

The male adventurer then at the seat right in front of me.

Apparently, this male adventurer was Sigurd, the Silver Wolf.

Sig-san was a beastman from canine clan and his height was over than 2 meters, taller than both Chris-san and Fer-san.

The muscles on Sig-san body was more defined than Chris-san and Fer-san too.

Since his nickname was Silver Wolf, that means he was a wolf beastman?

He had spiky silver hair that looked fluffy to touch.

On top of his hair, there was a pair of pointed ears with the same color as his hair.

His eyes looked so big and slanted, like a cat’s.

His mouth looked wide too, seemed like he could eat a lot with those mouth.

And to top it all, those.. Those fluffy tail!

He had a tail!

It looked so fluffy!

I wanted to touch it..

But I heard that, the ear and tail part of beastman was sensitive to touch so I cannot touch it casually as I liked.

Overall, Sig-san was a handsome young man.

When Sig-san, Fer-san and Chris-san sitting side by side like this, the sparkling aura doub-, no, tripled !

“Yo, Chris! It’s been a while since I last saw you! But, really this food is super delicious. Hey Ren, won’t you be my bride?” Sig-san smiled.

“Oh? Sig are you proposing to Ren-kun as well?” Fer-san asked.

Huh?

We hadn’t even talked yet but I already got another marriage proposal?

I was happy that he praised my onigiri but..

It was just an onigiri you know..?

Just an ordinary onigiri you know..??

“Umm..” I trailed, not sure what to say.

“You see, Malik-san told me that I might have a life changing meeting and this meal is super delicious, exactly my taste so I thought to myself ‘perhaps this is it?!’. I will say it again, this food deserves a perfect score from me!”

Malik-san?!?!

Just how many people did you tell the same thing to ?!

“Oooh~ Is this… Love at first sight?~ I heard that beastman often live according to their instinct, so I guess this is it? Your instinct tell you that Ren-chan is the one then~”

“Yup, my instinct told me so. That’s why Ren, should we get married now?” Sig-san asked again.

“Eh?! U-umm, since we’ve only just met, I think it’s still too soon to talk about marriage. Can you please give me time to consider it?I answered, fl.u.s.tered.

Sig-san asked me in such vigor that I was about to nod my head in response but I won’t get swayed again!

I answered him truthfully, after all I’m a man you know!

Oh wait, me being a man didn’t really matter.

Chris-san also proposed to me despite me being a man.

Ah…

I should’ve rejected him outright..

“Really, Sig you always act before you think. Ren-kun, let’s just ignore this fellow and continue with our feast.” Fer-san said while shaking his head.

“Y-yes.”

Despite the commotion, Fer-san kept on eating in his own pace.

“Mind your own business, Fer. I know it already. Ah by the way, I know you already knew my name but let me introduce myself. My name is Sigurd Tyselius. As you can see, I’m a wolf beastman. Malik-san told me to come home with you, please treat me well!”

Ah I knew it, he was from wolf clan.

It’s pretty hard to discern the beastman’s clan since most of them look the same with only slight difference.

“Nice to meet you, my name’s Ren. I’m an otherworlder. Is it okay if I call you Sig-san?”

“Yeah, of course!”

“Anyway Sig, why are you eating Ren-chan’s meal so nonchalantly like that? You’re going to decrease our portion~” Chris-san asked while puffing his cheek.

“Because it tastes so good! Ren, is it okay if I eat as well?” Sig-san on the other hand, didn’t seem abased and continue to eat while asking for my permission.

“Ah.. Well I still have plenty of food in my magic bag so I don’t mind.” I answered.

I reached into my magic bag and retrieved omelets and cream croquettes for them.

“Oh, this is also delicious. Ren-kun, you’re really skilled at cooking.”

“Yeah, delis.h.!.+ I really want you to become my bride.”

“Hey, get in line!~ I’m also running as Ren-chan’s spouse candidate! Ren-chan, this egg is so fluffy and full of flavor, so tasty!”

The three of them praised me wholeheartedly.

I feel my chest growing warm hearing their honest praise.

If anyone were looking at us, they would see a table full of smiles.

And to top it off, the three of them were so handsome!

It made me wonder whether it was alright for me to sit with them..

They were simply too dazzling!

“Ah that’s right, we’re going to form a party together so Sig do you want to come with us too? You’re about to go solo, right?”

“Ooh, sounds good! Count me in!”

Sig-san agreed to come into our party easily.

“Oi oi ! Can you believe it?? That Silver Wolf is going to join their party too!”

“Seriously?! With Ren?!”

“Yeah! And I also heard that he proposed to Ren? But I think he was joking around.”

“Ugh, the corner that those 4 sit on looks so sparkly.”

Ah, seemed like the other patron were talking about us.

I can’t help but nodded in agreement with them.

Those three were just too dazzling for their own good.

“Then, after we finish eating let’s go register our party.” Fer-san said.

“Y-yes!” I replied.

Without me noticing, they already finished their plate without any leftovers left.

The only one that hadn’t finished their meal was only me!

In panic, I ate all the food remaining in my plate quickly.

T/N : In Indonesia, we call people like Sigurd as ‘gercep/gerak cepat’ which means … quick witted? Yeah basically it means someone that can decide something quickly and act on it almost immediately as well.
