Chapter 37 : Misunderstanding

"Thank you for waiting." I said to Chris-san, Sig-san and Fer-san.

When I descended to the first floor, the three of them were already waiting for me on the nearby table.

"It was nothing. What do you want for breakfast, Ren-chan?~" Chris-san noticed me first, he got up from his seat and pulled a chair for me.

Chris-san was definitely the epitome of a gentleman.

"I will have the same as you guys but with half the portion."

The three of them were having salad and also toast with bacon and egg.

It was a pretty standard breakfast meal but as usual, the portion was too big for me.

"Half is it? Ren you really eat so little huh. Ah, please get the same for him but half the portion." Sig-san called for the waiters and ordered my food.

It wasn't like I ate too little, I ate enough for my body size.

The difference between our physique was too great.

"Ren-kun, the downpour that had been happening since yesterday finally calmed down. The weather is unbelievably clear today so the three of us want to departure soon. Is there anything else that you need to do before we go?"

"Eh but it's already 9 o'clock? How about if we depart after we have lunch?"

When I was changing my clothes I already checked my pocket watch, the time was around 9 o'clock.

Back when I was coming to Baunov with Chris-san, we needed around 4 hours to reach Baunov from our camping spot.

We need to take William from the stable and the other horses too.

Since we were having breakfast right now, we might reached the stable at 10 o'clock.

By then, it kinda felt too rushed if we went now since we would miss our lunch time.

"We are going to take a different route Ren-chan~ The road that we took to get here was the fastest route but the route we are going to take today has plenty of rest area. We are thinking of taking that route because there's a big river and lake. We thought Ren-chan might enjoy it that's why we will go through it~"

"Ah I see.. So we will have enough time to reach the resting area by lunch time." I nodded at Chris-san explanation.

So there was that kind of route.

If I wasn't wrong, there was a crossroad when I was travelling with Chris-san, maybe the other road lead to that said route?

If it was like that, it would be alright for us to depart soon then.

"I understand, let's use that route to get home to Pedrell. Ah, it's been a long time since I last saw William. I wonder if he's doing alright? Fufufu~ I can't wait to see him." I smiled at the memories of brus.h.i.+ng William's silky fur.

It had been around.. 10 days since I last saw him.

It had been too long that was why I got excited.

"William?" Sig-san and Fer-san asked at the same time,somehow their brows were creasing.

It'd be bad if you frowned that much you know, you will get wrinkle easily.

"Yes, I went to Baunov with him but we separated when we got here. It had been a long time since I last saw him that's why I'm a little worried about him. I hope he's alright.. Ah.. I can't wait to meet him.."

"What's that? So Ren has another guy beside us?"

Eh?

What was he talking about?

"I wonder what kind of guy that William is." Fer-san asked.

"Ah, he has beautiful black hair and he has deep blue eyes. He looks really handsome! He's also very big and clever as well!" I grinned happily.

Although I've only knew William for a month, for me William was an exceptional horse.

He was very clever and he was really cool!

Ah, I wanted to meet William soon.

I hoped the time would move faster so I could meet William now.

I took another bite of my meal as I finished explaining William's greatness to Fer-san and Sig-san.

"Since you're not together with him.. Does that means Wiliam belongs to another adventurer party?"

"Umm.. I don't think he's with another adventurer? Although I couldn't be so sure about it though.."

"But the fact remains stand. He decided to stay with another company than Ren."

"Eh.. I wonder what kind of companion he has to reject Ren-kun like that.."

Fer-san and Sig-san seemed to be mumbling about something but I didn't really listen to their conversation.

I was too busy trying to finish the meal in front of me.

"Ren-kun! Please let me meet with this William fellow!"

"Me too! I want to see what kind of a guy he is!"

"Eh? Okay? We're going to meet him soon anyway."

The two of them suddenly looked very determined to meet with William.

Did they got curious because I told them that William was such a dependable horse?

"Pfft..Fuahahahahhahaha! The two of you! You guys! You guys misunderstand the whole situation! William is the horse that I rented to take me and Ren-chan to Baunov! Ahahahhaha! Ah, I can't stop laughing! Hhahahaha!"

Chris-san laughed really loud, he was even crying.

Sig-san and Fer-san on the other hand looked perplexed.

Did.. Sig-san and Fer-san misunderstood about William?!

"…What? So he's not some guy that you knew?" Sig-san asked.

"Well William is most definitely a male though.."

"But you said he was very handsome.." Fer-san asked.

"But he is! He has a beautiful black hair, his posture is really magnificent as well!"

William was definitely handsome!

He was the coolest animal that I've ever seen!

"Ahhh…"

Both Sig-san and Fer-san let out a very big sigh.

"Fufufu~ How stupid can you two be? If Ren-chan has that kind of guy in his mind, I wouldn't have proposed to him you know~ Do you understand now?~" Chris-san teased the other two.

They looked very relieved that they didn't really care about Chris-san teasing them.

"I'm sorry I doubted you, Ren. I'm sorry I got jealous."

"Me too, I displayed a shameful part of me to you. I'm sorry."

The two of them apologized with a dejected look on their face.

Looking at how Sig-san's ear flopped down like that and the look of utter dismay in Fer-san's face..

There was no way I could get mad at them!

After all, that display of jealousy was the proof of their love to me, right?

"It's alright. Let's meet with William later, okay?"

I wouldn't get mad over something like that.

Ah right, what about their horses?

"Do you guys came with ordinary horses or magical horses?"

"I came with a magical one."

"Ah, me too. Ordinary horses would become too afraid to move with a wolf beastman like me so I had to get a magical one."

Ah so they had magical horses as well.

Maybe the ordinary horses were afraid of Sig-san because a wolf was a carnivorous animal after all?

"I can't wait to see your horses as well!"I said excitedly.

"Fufufu~ Ren-chan looks so excited~ William is a rental horse but the other two is a personal horse so they always come together wherever their owner goes~"

Ah that was right, when we arrived at Pedrell, we had to return William back.

I felt sad thinking about it….

"Hmm~ Should I buy WIlliam for good? I never bought a horse before because I travelled a lot and didn't have a permanent house but when we arrived at Pedrell we will have a house together, right? Maybe I will buy a personal horse for myself as well~"

"Eh!?"

"He's a good horse and Ren-chan you like William too, right?"

Perhaps Chris-san decided to buy William because I looked so sad when I was thinking that I had to part with William?

But buying a horse was not cheap, you couldn't just decide it out of the blue like that.

I like William and I would be ecstatic if Chris-san were to buy him but I didn't want to cause trouble to Chris-san..

"I like William but is it okay to buy him? He's not cheap, right?"

"Well he's not cheap~ But William is already 5 years old and I've been renting him for 4 years already. He's cheaper than buying a young horse anyway."

Even though he was cheaper than a young horse, William was still quite expensive then.

But Chris-san used to say that they had quite a lot of saving so I guess buying a horse should be fine?

After all, Chris-san looked like the type that wouldn't back off when he had decided something.

"I see, I can't wait until we can be together forever then." I smiled.

"Yup yup. Me too~" Chris-san said happily.

He must've decided to bought William because of me.

Chris-san looked so happy when I smiled.

The four of them really spoilt me rotten.

"Well then since we've finished eating let's return to our room and prepare to depart. I will tell the innkeeper that we want to check out as well."

"Ah, okay."

We returned to our room to pack our things.

Well I said 'packing' but actually we only put our stuff into our magic bag.

The other three were busy changing their clothes as for me my current clothes were good enough for traveling so I only took my dagger and my mantle out.

I'd already finished my preparation but the other three were still busy equipping their breastplate and gauntlet.

Well those things were hard to put on so it took more time for them to prepare themselves.

"I've finished. We need to pick our magical horse up now, right?" Sig-san asked, he was the first one that finished his preparations.

"Yes, we still have plenty of food for our journey home so I don't need to restock on food. Let's go pick up William and the others. I can't wait to see them!~" I said excitedly.

I still had a lot of food in my magic bag.

Back when we were subjugating, we also ate the meat of monster that we subjugated and sometimes we also hunted wild animals so I had a lot of surplus left.

"My Viktor is also a very beautiful horse, you know." Fer-san said.

"My Oscar is also a pretty nice horse." Sig-san replied.  

They were trying to compete against another by boasting about their horses.

I also couldn't wait to meet with their horses.

"Let's check out of the inn and pick the horses up then!" I said while grinning happily.

The other three also stared at me while smiling.

Yup, this was definitely what happiness felt like.

"Ren is so excited, you must really love animals. Okay, let's go now."

And then the four of us exited the inn.

See you guys next year ~~ Looking back, I think I've done pretty well for a first timer~ Alsar is the first novel I translated.. I think I started back in August 2018? Meh, not much time has pa.s.sed yet then but it feels like it's been ages agooo since I translated the first chapter. I also have picked up another dropped novel, Devil's Origin to translate as well, though I haven't translated much of it.. I think my skill has.. Improved somehow? I hope it's not only my imagination (lol). I can't judge my own ability after all ¯_(ツ)_/¯
