Chapter 48 : I'm Home

"Good afternoon." I greeted as I came into the guild.

"Ren-san?!" Tord-san abruptly stood from his chair when he noticed me.

"Oh Ren, you finally returned from Calhea quest, huh."

Both Tord-san and Hugo-san was tending to the reception desk together so they were the first person that I saw when I entered the guild.

"Ren-san! I heard that a Redondo Dragon appeared in Calhea?? They said there was no casualties and the dragon was subjugated quite peacefully but are you really alright? Are you hurt anywhere??" Tord-san walked over the counter and anxiously checked my body for any injury.

"Yes, thanks to everyone's teamwork I only had a few scratches here and there. Aside from that, I'm perfectly fine."

I could see how worried he was from the way his ear slumped down dejectedly.

His cat ears looked so cute!

I was about to reach my hand to pet his ear but then I remembered the 'incident' that happened because of my carelessness so I pulled my hand back to me.

"Oi, how long are you going to keep touching Ren so nonchalantly like that?" Sig-san slapped Tord-san hands away from me and pulled my body into his warm embrace.

"O-ouch! What's your problem, man? Oh, you're Silver Wolf!" Tord-san's ear and tail bristled when he noticed Sig-san's death glare.

Sig-san looked intimidating as always.

"What do you mean 'what'? Ren is my fiance. Of course it is my duty to protect him from suspicious person like you."

Because Sig-san was hugging me from behind, I couldn't see his expression but judging from how cold his voice sounded like, I was sure he must be glaring at Tord-san intensely.

"Wh! So that rumor is true?! Ren-san, are those three your fiance??"

Tord-san's eyes drew considerably wider when he heard Sig-san's proclamation.

His gaze kept on changing forth between me and Sig-san, seemed like the news of me having three fiance was a huge blow for him.

"Umm..Yeah.. This is Chris-san, Fer-san and Sig-san. They're all my fiance. We're going to a jeweller to custom order engagement ear cuff after we've finished greeting everyone in the guild. That's right, is Malik-san here?" I introduced them to everyone bashfully, my cheeks felt warm because I was embarra.s.sed.

"Ah…. No way.. This can't be true.." Tord-san fell to his knees while mumbling lowly.

"I already told you, didn't I? Just give it up, Tord. Ren, congratulations for your engagement. If you're looking for master, he's in his office. Follow me, I will take you to him." Hugo-san tilted his head, beckoning us to follow him to Malik-san's office.

"Thank you, Hugo-san. Let's go then."  I slipped free from Sig-san's embrace and followed Hugo-san to the second floor.

"Yeah." Fer-san, Chris-san and Sig-san replied in unison.

I was really excited to see Malik-san so my steps felt light but when I turned around, in contrary I saw that the three of them looked very stiff and tense instead.

We finally reached Malik-san's office, I've been here a couple of times before but because of the subjugation quest, it felt like it had been ages since I was last here.

I knocked on the door lightly and waited for Malik-san's response.

"Yeah, come in."

Receiving Malik-san's permission, I opened the door with a creak.

"Good evening, Malik-san. I've finally returned." I bowed to greet Malik-san who was sitting on his desk, sorting paperwork for the guild.

"Ohh! Ren! I heard there was quite an incident with the quest, I'm happy that you finally returned home safely!"

When Malik-san noticed me, he stood from his chair and stroked my head gently.

"Yes, there was but thanks to everyone's teamwork I managed to return home without any injury."

"I see, that's good then. And.. You three, is there something else you want to talk to me about?" Malik-san pointed at the figures standing behind me with a smirk.

"Yes, thank you for recommending the quest to me, Malik-san. Thanks to your suggestion I could meet with Ren-kun there."

"It is exactly as Malik-san said. I've found a cute bride thanks to you suggesting me to join this year's quest. Thank you for all your help, Malik-san."

"I've told you before that I wanted to pursue Ren-chan and now I've become Ren-chan's fiance. Hehe~"

The three of them bowed at Malik-san to show their respect, they were smiling but their smile looked so stiff and strained.

"I see. Lift your head, boys. Relax, I'm not angry or upset at you guys. Anyway, so you finally have 3 fiance, huh Ren?" Malik-san cheerfully laughed toward the tense looking adventurer in front of him and then he turned his head at me.

"Yes, we're planning to formally register each other as married couple on October."

"I see, so are you going to stay in my house until then?"

"Yes, that's right."

Of course I didn't have any plan to live elsewhere but Malik-san's house.

Even though I've only knew him for about a month, I think I've developed a father complex already?

I didn't want to get separated from Malik-san yet!

"Eh~ Then the three of us have to rent a room in the guild for 3 whole months?~" Chris-san pouted.

"I guess so? There's nothing else we can do." Sig-san shrugged his shoulder.

"I think that would be the best. Staying at the inn will be convenient too if we want to take a quest."

From behind me, they started to talk among themselves.

"So what are you guys going to do next?" Malik-san asked, he was still stroking my head

"Umm.. Malik-san..  You keep stroking at the same spot so my head hurts a little.." I whined at Malik-san.

"Ah~ Ren is simply too cute so I can't stop myself from stroking you. How about if you keep on living with me even after you get married?"

Hearing my complain, instead of stopping Malik-san started to stroke my head even more.

Thanks to his relentless attack, my hair was a mess now.

Well.. I don't really mind the stroking so I guess everything's fine.

"What are you saying, Malik-san? I can't agree with such living condition." Fer-san with no room for argument.

"True~ Ren-chan will be living with us, right?~"

"Ren-kun? There's no way that you will agree with Malik-san, right?"

Suddenly, the three of them were looking at me expectantly with a scary expression on their face.

"I never thought of such thing! We haven't talked properly about that kind of thing yet, haven't we?!" I hurriedly replied in panic.

I felt like if I were to hesitate even just for a little bit, things would escalate in a very bad way.

"Let's find somewhere else to talk. You guys want to sell the raw materials you got too, right? Let's go downstairs to appraise the materials."

"Ah, okay."

"Nora, can you come with us to appraise the materials?"

"Yes, certainly."

Suddenly out of nowhere, a woman appeared on Malik-san's left side with a poof.

I was sure I didn't see anyone else when I entered the room!

That woman was Norsan, she was responsible for administrative work especially regarding materials collection in the guild.

Back when I had been doing lulu gra.s.s collection quest, I always had her counted the gra.s.s I'd collected.

I didn't know her well because she was a women with few words and she never used the appraisal skill in front of me too.

Probably because even a mere child could identify lulu gra.s.s with a single glance hence why she never used her skill in front of me.

She took her gla.s.ses out from her pocket and looked at us calmly.

Judging from her appearance I'd say she was in her early 30's.

"Good afternoon Norsan, I'm sorry I haven't greeted you when I came back home from the quest." I greeted her first.

"Good afternoon, Ren-san. I know you have a lot of more pressing matter to sort so it's fine. Master, I will go downstair first." Norsan said as she walked straight to the door.

"Ah, yeah."

"Norchan is as expressionless as ever huh~ She's too serious~" Chris-san said after Norsan went out of the room.

"That's true.. But her appraisal skill is the best in here." Malik-san shrugged.

I've never saw Norsan laughed before even though I often visited the guild.

In this guild, there was 3 people with appraisal skill but Norsan was the best.

That was why Malik-san often relied on her to do the appraisal.

"Ren you never done any quest before but the lulu gra.s.s collecting, right? You're in for a surprise then. The amount of money you will receive cannot be compared to lulu gra.s.s quest." Sig-san said coyly.

Well I only received 5000 elk each time I did the lulu gra.s.s quest while this subjugation quest already gave me 20.000 elk as partic.i.p.ating reward.

I wonder how much money I will receive from selling the raw materials?

"Really? I know I will receive more money compared to collecting lulu gra.s.s though I'm not sure if the amount will differ greatly like that."

"That's right. You cannot compare the amount, especially since we've subjugated the redondo dragon. I think we might receive 7 figures..No, maybe 8 figures reward even."

"What?!"

8 figures.. So that meant I'd receive 10.000.000 elk?!

I was so surprised that I looked at Fer-san with my jaws dropped open.

"We're going to be swimming in riches~ Fufufu~ Let's go pick our money up~" Chris-san said in sing song voice as he pushed my body toward the door.

I wonder how much was their annual income..

As I pondered such thought, we went downstairs to catch up with Norsan.
