“Mian, have you had breakfast yet?” Su Yu asked.
“I’ve had. I’m going to work now, you should too. Yan just recovered from her injuries, I don’t plan on letting her run around.”
After Huo Mian exchanged pleasantries with them, she left.
“President Huo didn’t seem too happy,” An said in a low voice.
“Obviously, I could tell as soon as she came in.”
“That’s strange, who let her know?” An wondered.
Su Yu didn’t say anything.
“Maybe it’s Ms. Zeng Rou?” An doubted subconsciously.
After all, there were only a few people here. Lu Yan had never made any calls, as he was with Lu Yan the whole time.
The twins would never say anything, and Su Yu wouldn’t either. So, Zeng Rou was the only suspect.
“It wasn’t me.”
Zeng Rou said from the kitchen.
An was immediately felt he was going to die from the awkwardness.
He immediately rose, “Uh, I’m going to clean the car. President Su, let me know when you’re leaving.”
An found an excuse and left, otherwise, he had no way to face Zeng Rou.
He was innocently guessing, he didn’t think that she’d heard him.
Su Yu felt pretty awkward too and turned around to look at Zeng Rou.
“An was just guessing, he didn’t mean it maliciously. Don’t be mad.”
“I’m not mad, that’s a normal a.s.sumption. I’m curious too about how Huo Mian knew about it. She seems to know everything, including the fact that I cooked breakfast.”
“What was she…” Su Yu looked at Zeng Rou and paused, but it was obvious that Zeng Rou knew what he was going to say.
“Huo Mian apologized to me. I felt that she was mad. Shouldn’t you go beg for mercy on behalf of the twins?”
“How dare I? No one can stand in the way of Mian lecturing her children,” Su Yu sweated.
“She asked me to go find her at the hospital in a bit.”
“Find her?” Su Yu was more confused.
“Mhm.”
“Did she say what for?”
“No,” Zeng Rou shook her head.
“Mian is being so strange today…” Su Yu said to himself.
Inside the van.
The atmosphere was tense, the four faced each other in the back seat.
In the middle was a small coffee table.
Huo Mian and Lu Yan sat on one side while Pudding and Little Bean sat on the other.
The car drove smoothly along the road.
“Say it, what is going on with you two?” Huo Mian’s face was icy cold.
“Mommy, what are you talking about?” Little Bean played dumb.
Pudding bit her lips and didn’t say anything.
“Don’t play dumb, whose idea was it to make Zeng Rou cook breakfast for you?” Huo Mian said in a stern tone.
The two children finally realized the gravity of the situation.
They were both silent…
“Sis, how did you find out about it? Did someone snitch?” Lu Yan thought that it might be her subordinates that accidentally told her sister. However, on second thought, they left the hospital when she did. They shouldn’t have b.u.mped into her sister.
“Yan, stay out of this.”
Huo Mian seemed like she didn’t want Lu Yan to interfere with her parenting of the twins.
“I’m giving you three seconds. Whose idea was it?” Huo Mian took another look at her daughters.
The twins were wearing white short sleeves with dark blue dresses. They had bowties at their collars, it was their school uniform.
“Mommy, it was me.”
“Mommy, it was me.”
Surprisingly, the two kids said the same thing.
“So, it’s both of your ideas, right?” Huo Mian slowly said.
