“President Su, I lost. I didn’t get first place…” Han Yueyao had shame on her face.
“Get in the car first.”
Su Yu looked calm and she couldn’t see if he was pleased or angry.
With a racing heart, she got into Su Yu’s car nervously to get back to C City.
Her a.s.sistant and agent went back in a company van.
“Miss Han, you did very well today.”
The moment she got in, An comforted her, afraid she was discouraged by the result.
“Thank you, An. I, too, think I did well today. I tried my best. But those directors have no taste.” Han Yueyao chuckled.
She didn’t feel displeased for not getting the first place due to the shady deal; instead, her heart raced with happiness to see Su Yu.
After she fastened the seat belt, Su Yu handed a bottle of water to her.
She took it shyly.
“President Su, it’s so good to see you come back safe.”
Hearing her words, Su Yu glanced at An.
“Please don’t blame An; I made him tell me. I’ll feel bad if you scold him,” afraid Su Yu would blame An, she immediately explained.
An put in, “President Su, Miss Han was worried about you. Truly, we were all worried.”
“You’re a big mouth,” Su Yu retorted jokingly.
On the way, Su Yu and Han Yueyao chatted about the trivial things in the company and fun stuff; they even talked about Su Xiaoxiao’s love affair.
Su Yu didn’t take Su Xiaoxiao’s love affair seriously. “She’s still young. After she retires from the army, she might find a different man to marry.” Su Yu chuckled.
“In fact, Lin Hang is a fine guy. He doesn’t like Xiaoxiao and told her his lack of interest in her; he doesn’t pretend to like her for the sake of her background or money. He’s got a good character.”
“It’s not enough. Xiaoxiao’s father would never agree to let her marry a mechanic,” Su Yu said calmly.
Seeing the embarra.s.sment in Han Yueyao’s face, Su Yu explained, “I said it not because I despise him… I meant Xiaoxiao’s father wants her daughter to be happy. Obviously, that Lin fellow is a weirdo and can’t give Xiaoxiao happiness.”
“I know. President Su, you don’t have to explain to me.”
“Whoa. Han Yueyao, you changed a lot. You won’t bicker with me now?”
Su Yu was not used to Han Yueyao’s obedience; after all, the girl had liked to spar with him.
“I was… childish. President Su, I’m grateful to you for giving me such a good opportunity and… not taking advantage of me with your position.”
Hearing Han Yueyao’s words, even An laughed out loud.
Han Yueyao was sharp-tongued, but when she was in the mood, she could be very funny.
Su Yu laughed too. “What? You sounded not happy that I didn’t take advantage of you.”
“Yeah. You’re welcome to take advantage of me,” Han Yueyao said the words half-jokingly.
Embarra.s.sed, Su Yu changed the subject. “Bulls.h.i.+t. Tell me what you want to eat. It’s on me. It’s a rare opportunity for you. Think carefully before making the decision.”
“Since my boss is so generous, I’ll grab the rare opportunity. I heard the seafood in Ocean Empire is very good. I want four abalones and a four-pound lobster…” Han Yueyao continued to joke.
“Miss Han, you like seafood too? President Huo does, too.” At An’s words, awkward silence filled the air in the car.
