She couldhear voices coming from the inside, and even more surprising, the voice of awoman.

In themountains, an old temple, woman’s voice. These three combined was a tell-talesign that something odd was going on.

But she washere already, Cheng Xiao Xiao had no intention to turn around and leave rightaway. She might as well go find out what was going on.

She leapedon top of the wall with great agility. Looking around, she didn’t see anyoneright away. The main quarter was very quiet. There were a row of rooms in theback, most likely where monks use to sleep.

Thinkingabout it for a second, Cheng Xiao Xiao quietly leaped down. Just when she hadpa.s.sed the main hall and was about to head toward the rooms in the back, a loudvoice came from behind her, “Who are you?”

She toppedand turned around to look at the person speaking. She saw a tall man with aknife scar on his face staring at her viciously.

Before shecould respond, he shouted at her again, “Little brat, do you have a death wishcoming here?”

“Ugh…” ChengXiao Xiao was dumbfounded, what was going on?

The persondidn’t seem to noticed that she was shocked, he continued to shout at herviciously, “You getting get the heck out of here before you were dragged intothe kitchen and turned into fillings for buns!”
