Chapter 2158 The Dashavatara -Final
Minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days.
That was how long the fight had been for the existing portion of the battle with the Dashavatara. Matsya could sense that Kalki and Parashurama were still alive and their connection with him was strong but they were not done with the battle in the Royal Throne Hall.
As much as Matsya wanted to have a decisive blow against the Rifle Mages, they were still putting up a fierce resistance. But that was the same for the Celestials as well. While quite a number of Dashavatara had been killed, the remaining Avatars of Vishnu took turns to fight while making sure their minion armies were still alive and kicking despite all of the Anti Celestial bullets they took in.
Matsya and Siddhartha Buddha can already see that Ress had the upper hand in winning this match but for some reason, their attacks were not as aggressive as they could be. The moment the Celestials retreated temporarily, there were hara.s.sing attacks but eventually they flew off, not chasing after them.
This became even more apparent as Kalki and Parashurama entered the Royal Throne Hall and did not return at all. They were still able to contact the first Avatar of Vishnu but apparently, they ignored him entirely.
So, all he could do was to make sure that the attacks were still adequate in order to understand that they were able to make a dent against Ress's defences. Because, unlike the Celestials, it seemed like they noticed Ress could not replenish the bodies of their dead Mages. Their rotations became even more frequent after Day 4 of battle but their fighting capabilities did not diminish.
Thus, Matsya could deduce that they were buying time as much as the Celestials were doing the same thing. It is just the Avatar of Vishnu could not understand why and for how long. At the same time, the Dashavatara was not able to prolong this fight any more mainly due to the fact that even the Celestials were exhausted.
The Anti Celestial compounds in their dead minions were making it extremely hard for them to resurrect consistently.
If it was not for Siddhartha Buddha to be a manipulator of Celestial energy, all of them would have fallen days ago.
Ress, on the other hand, was still surviving as they should. Their vast amount of experience in dealing with long fights in dungeons had proven useful and it was just another day for them. What they do not understand is that why they were stalling instead of fighting and the answer did not come until days into the fight were the System stated that negotiations were underway.
All they had to do was not to die and keep firing at the enemies, hara.s.sing them sufficiently but not to the point of killing the remaining Dashavatara. However, the minions were free buffets for all of them.
The fights at Lyro had eventually died down with the Vampiric Werewolves from the Daemon Mage Corps coming in to stabilise the situation and thus the main battlefield was Ress. Even the underground battles came to a halt after learning that they were fiercer fighting in the tunnels compared to above ground.
Supplies wise, dungeons were created at the lowest underground floors where reserved hunters and even teenage hunters would enter to get resources on the double to keep Ress supplied.
Machines were still working double time and overtime to ensure that ammunition and supplies could be delivered to the battlefield. If any modern world commanders had seen how the System coordinated the processes to ensure that they had an ample supply of ammunition going to their battlefield, they would be drooling until the computers were fried from their saliva.
Meanwhile, the most important fight of this whole entire standoff was actually the fight between Kraft and the two war oriented Dashavataras, Parashurama and Kalki. It might only be days to the Rifle Mages and the Celestials but to this trio, the length of the fight was immensely horrific.
World Ending moves and magic were cast a number of times from both Kalki and Parashurama and yet Kraft was still alive. He countered each of them easily with his own brand of chi and magic mixed into one. Not to mention he also actually killed Parashurama multiple but decided that it would be too d.a.m.n boring if he was fighting Kalki alone.
Thus, he resurrects him every time he dies so that he can continue to be the meat s.h.i.+eld for Kalki. As for the G.o.ddess of War, her Judgement Day magic had been used in continuous sessions and there were different variants of it appearing for Kraft to experience. At the same time, each casting caused her to lose a portion of her celestial circuits.
If this was the level of dungeon fighting that the Celestials would see, this would be tremendously hard and simultaneously encouraging the Celestials to get better too. Because if there was one thing that the Celestials had in common was that they hate to lose. Unfortunately, as much as she wanted to push herself to win this fight, it was impossible for her to do it right now.
So, that was also when Kraft noticed the major opening she left and decided to call it a day. With No Mercy back in his possession, he killed Kalki on the spot with a headshot and subsequently snapped his fingers, causing the Parashurama who attempted to counter during that shot to be killed instantly as well.
After all, Parashurama was resurrected by Kraft and the Devil Fox could extinguish his life in a jiffy since the magic he used was not life magic but necromancy.
With a single snap and a press of a trigger, the two Dashavataras reentered the Throne Hall with Jin staring at them with a smile. "How did it fare for you, Kraft?" Jin commented and the person who killed them emerged from the back of the throne's seat.
"Boring at the end, to be honest, but the Judgement Day magic was rather interesting to watch. She released so many variants of it that I could have popcorn with me to see all of it."
"You did see all of it, even one that I created on the spot." Kalki stood up and realised that her Celestial energy circuits did not disappear. Parashurama was back as well with no visible damage on himself. "How did you do this? There is no way even Siddaharta Buddha could heal my celestial circuits instantly?"
"I said it before, this is entertainment. Entertainment that I am willing to sell. Entertainment with so many possibilities that you could never imagine what is going to happen. Of course, there might be some cliches here and there but I a.s.sure you can finally release everything you have just for this fight.
Not needing to pull any punches, or maybe we even restrict the powers for you so that you can fight to your limits. Anything is possible! All you need to do is to give me this chance, give us this chance to s.h.i.+ne and we will make sure that this entertainment will endure through the centuries and for generations to come," Jin smiled as he believed that despite their defeat, he might win their hearts.
