The servant looked worried, “I’m not sure. We were playing hide-and-seek with the Princess in the garden and she didn’t come out. We panicked and looked for her everywhere, but we still couldn’t find her after a long time. Now that it’s raining, we’re afraid she’ll be in trouble, so we came to report to the Prince...”
“How long has she been gone?” Before the servant could finish his nervous retelling, Yue interrupted him loudly, making the poor man kneel on the ground in fear, “about...about half an hour.”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Yue yelled and started rolling his chair everywhere.
Languo was shocked but too afraid to speak up.
The servant was even more scared, “since the Prince was selecting bodyguards, we didn’t want to bother...”
“Morons!” Yue had a bad habit when he became angry, and that was throwing things, so he picked up plates on the table and tossed a whole tea set on the ground. One piece of the plates fell by Languo’s feet, making her have a realization. She hollered, “I’ll go help look!”
Looking for the Princess out there was better than watching this tirade, since Yue was obviously not happy.
But Yue didn’t pay attention her, only barking at the servant, “have everyone look inside the palace, and have Deputy Liao take thirty aides to look outside the palace. If b.u.t.terfly is not found before dark, none of you will live!”
Languo’s hands and feet first felt numb, then shook. His order would make so many people lose their lives. Who knows where the little Princess went? Was the commotion necessary?
But she may have committed to the cause too.
Indeed, after the servant stumbled out, Yue looked deeply at Languo, “didn’t you say you were going to look?”
“Hm, it occurred to me that, maybe protecting the Prince is more important, after all, this is my job.” Now she thought it was better to suffer here than be killed when she couldn’t find the Princess.
Thinking of the Princess and jobs, Languo suddenly remembered her cla.s.smate, Mei Junzhi. She made a sound of surprise; how could she have forgotten about him? She really wasn’t a protective older cla.s.smate.
“What is it?” Her reaction drew Yue’s attention.
Languo hesitated, “the Happy Life Clan actually sent two elite students this time, me, and my younger cla.s.smate, Mei Junzhi. He applied to be the Princess’ bodyguard, though I don’t know where he is now.” She grew worried, did he kidnap the Princess?
Yue didn’t seem concerned about Junzhi. “Don’t worry about the bodyguard business now, our priority is to find b.u.t.terfly.”
“Right...” Languo agreed in a rush, while also becoming curious. “I, your servant, have a question, would it be okay to ask?”
Languo calling herself servant made Yue chagrined. She must have learned this from that servant earlier and it wasn’t a good name for her. He reminded her, “you don’t have to call yourself servant, you’re mine, so just call yourself underling.”
“What? Oh...” Languo blushed and was embarra.s.sed. “You’re mine” certainly had many meanings.
That servant was also part of his household, but he only told her “You’re mine.” Languo was so excited her heart started beating. She was... definitely flattered.
