Chapter 6406: Big Misunderstanding
Seeing Jiang Ni standing obediently to the side, Jian Wushuang inwardly shook his head.
A pract.i.tioner of the Sword Dao should not be obedient but sharp and fierce.
Originally, Jiang Ni was a sharp little girl, but ever since she started following him, her edge seemed to have dulled.
This might have been related to the long period of seclusion, which was why Jian Wushuang had decided to take her and the others out for some experience this time.
However, he had no idea what Jiang Ni truly thought of him. If he did, he would probably feel so embarra.s.sed that he'd want to dig a hole and hide in it.
"Daoist Ziyu, how are you adjusting?" Jian Wushuang began with a friendly greeting.
This only made Jiang Ni more convinced that he had feelings for Fairy Ziyu, and she felt uncomfortable about it. She immediately interjected, "Senior Wushuang, you haven't introduced this lady yet. How should we address her?"
"Huh?" Jian Wushuang's mouth fell open in surprise. "Haven't you all been watching the whole time?"
It suddenly dawned on him-Jiang Ni was jealous.
But he couldn't quite figure it out. Jealous of whom?
Could it be that she was jealous of him?
That wouldn't do! If so, their hierarchy would be thrown into disarray.
If Hui Qing knew about this, she would chop him to pieces.
Right now, he was atoning for his mistakes, not adding more sins!
Thinking of this, he adopted a stricter tone and reprimanded, "Jiang Ni, how dare you speak to your elders like this?"
After speaking, he turned his gaze toward Fairy Ziyu.
Her expression wasn't great, but after seeing Jian Wushuang's serious att.i.tude, she seemed to feel less embarra.s.sed and softly said, "Senior Wushuang, it's just a t.i.tle. There's no need to be so harsh on the younger ones!"
"Hmph, you're only a few years older than me!" Jiang Ni retorted defiantly.
Jian Wushuang slapped his forehead, feeling a headache coming on.
Not wanting to stay in this awkward situation any longer, he quickly got to the point.
"Are we heading out for some training?"
Xue Yang, Immortal Jiu Chen, and Jiang Ni's eyes lit up.
Jian Wushuang calmly replied, "Yes, we'll be within the boundaries of the Twin G.o.ds' Mansion. The strongest being I've detected within a billion miles is a six-step True Immortal. His background is unusual, and it's likely that his real combat power is on par with a seven- step True Immortal. He will be your greatest threat."
"Don't worry, my thought power is strong. If we encounter him, I'll just grab you all and run!" Xue Yang patted his chest confidently.
Jiu Chen and Jiang Ni had been here for over a hundred years, frequently sparring with each other. They all knew that Xue Yang was the strongest.
Both Jiu Chen and Jiang Ni were far weaker by comparison.
Even though Xue Yang had yet to grasp the Origin Source Dao, he already had the combat strength of a six-step True Immortal.
But Jiang Ni and Jiu Chen were only at the level of three-step True Immortals.
There was no helping it. Xue Yang's experience far surpa.s.sed both Jiu Chen and Jiang Ni. However, Jiu Chen and Xue Yang both relied heavily on experience. After all, one was a true spirit created by a Universe Master, and the other was the reincarnation of a Universe Master. Jiang Ni, on the other hand, relied purely on talent.
At the Great Perfection stage, she already possessed the combat strength of a three-step True Immortal, which was quite impressive.
Her talent was truly extraordinary.
After all, the gap between the Great Perfection stage and the True Immortal stage was vast. Jian Wushuang remained calm, his gaze steady. "What you're lacking is an Origin Source." The true leap forward would only come once they mastered the Origin Source.
So, these three needed to put in more effort they couldn't just sit around in the Nine Prison PaG.o.da, waiting to be fed.
To push them, Jian Wushuang had laid out a series of requirements.
"This time, your training isn't for fun!" he declared.
"First, Jiang Ni and Immortal Jiu Chen must kill at least one Three-Step True Immortal. That's the minimum. You are not allowed to target those at the Grand Ascension stage, and you can't touch the weak. Only True Immortals-kill as many as you can. Afterward, you can exchange the number of True Immortals you've slain for treasures from me. From now on, you'll only be able to obtain treasures through your own abilities."
"Second, Xiang Yang, you must eliminate the Six-Step True Immortal. If you fail, forget about using the Deep Sea Pearl!"
"Third, I'm giving you only three days!"
Jian Wushuang took a deep breath and concluded, "That's it for now."
"Wait!" Xiang Yang interrupted him. "Wushuang, give me a couple of handy supreme treasures first. I don't feel confident without proper weapons!"
Jian Wushuang glanced at Xiang Yang's childlike expression and teased, "I already gave you one. The Six-Step True Immortal you're targeting has a set of supreme treasures-go claim them yourself!"
With that, Jian Wushuang's figure vanished from the Nine Prison PaG.o.da.
Before the three could even react, they were teleported thousands of miles away.
*Whoos.h.!.+*
The three of them fell straight into a mist-covered swamp.
Their adventure was about to begin.
Although they didn't have supreme treasures, they did possess immortal weapons.
Jian Wushuang, like a worried father, had fretted over them.
Each of them had a set of top-tier immortal weapons, nearly as valuable as ordinary supreme
treasures.
If they couldn't complete the tasks he had set for them with those, they were fit only to blend into the ancient world.
And they could forget about joining him in exploring other realms or even other universes.
Returning to reality, Jian Wushuang was now traveling with Guardian Yunhai and Old
Ancestor Xue He, heading toward the Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain.
None of the three had volunteered to go, but the Twin-Faced Buddha had already commanded them to rush to the formation outside Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain and teleport
there.
This was because Yang Dingtian had already surrounded the entire mountain with a ma.s.sive force and was actively dismantling the formation.
Deafening sonic booms echoed as the formation was torn apart.
The trio, with Jian Wushuang in tow, soon found the hidden teleportation array that would take them to Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain.
For now, entering the mountain directly was impossible, as it was entirely surrounded by Yang Dingtian's forces.
"We've been discovered!" Old Ancestor Xue He shouted, alarmed. Even without his warning, Jian Wushuang had already sensed it.
Two Dao Lords were sweeping the area with thought power, and they had found the group.
Jian Wushuang hadn't bothered to block the thought power. He simply felt these people weren't capable of stopping him.
"d.a.m.n it, it's that old hag Yinhua! She's joined Yang Dingtian's side?"
"Not just her," said Guardian Yunhai, his face darkening. "The people on Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain just sent me a message-City Lord Tian Tan is here too. This time, Yang Dingtian
came fully prepared."
Guardian Yunhai's expression turned grave. "Could Yang Dingtian have rallied everyone to the Ancient Court? Why else would so many be helping him against our lord?" Though the three seemed unconcerned with Jian Wushuang, their words were meant for his
ears.
Standing behind them, Jian Wushuang said calmly, "Just focus on entering the teleportation array. I'll deal with those two."
"Then we'll leave it to you, Senior!" Guardian Qifeng bowed with a slight smile.
Both Guardian Yunhai and Old Ancestor Xue He had their own thoughts swirling in their
minds.
Earlier, Jian Wushuang had promised them significant rewards in exchange for leading him into Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain. He had also a.s.sured them of their safety afterward and promised to escort them out of the Sea-Covering Ancient Domain.
They couldn't help but think about how Jian Wushuang had treated Elder Tian Can earlier.
They were tempted.
But they also feared that Jian Wushuang might betray them after using them.
The treasures involved were too important.
At that moment, the three were weighing whether to sell Jian Wushuang out. However, with Yang Dingtian now leading such a large force to besiege Twin-Faced G.o.d Mountain, offending Jian Wushuang would mean they'd be caught between two enemies- both Jian Wushuang and their own lord.
