Chapter 14
After Rong Yi had run downstairs, he thought that now would be a good time to break up with him.
On the one hand, Chen Keyao was very reliable; on the other hand, however, he was also extremely unreliable.
But to be reliable in this aspect, how often could people like this be met in one life?
In contrast, when it came to necessities of life¹, Chen Keyao was really a mess.
Living with this kind of person would definitely leave you both physically and mentally exhausted. Rong Yi repeatedly warned himself in his heart and slammed his head twice, trying to interrupt the endless loop of wishful thoughts and images in his brain.
It was his own voice that suddenly interrupted. In the dimly lit room, he looked at himself with a look of concern. He reached out and wiped his face, looking at the bloodstain in his palm with a slightly tangled brow.
These were all things that couldn't be eaten.
Don't go on and on, letting your heart race like a fool.
Besides, he doesn't think about you at all.
When Rong Yi came home with a convenience store bag, Chen Keyao was really sat on the sofa.
Half of his face had swelled greatly, and there were a few b.l.o.o.d.y paper towels on the coffee table in front of him.
“…What are you doing?” Rong Yi looked at him in horror.
“I just rubbed it twice,” Chen Keyao frowned. “How come it broke again…”
Once again, Rong Yi was speechless.
Although he was a single Omega, he suddenly had the thought that he was like a bear child's hard-working parent; turning his gaze away for only a second, and the b.a.s.t.a.r.d child would already be in trouble.
He walked up to Chen Keyao, dropped the bag on the coffee table, and reached for his chin. He frowned and looked at his wound.
The wound was about seven or eight centimetres long, and although the shallower parts of the two sides had already scabbed, in the middle, blood was still oozing out. There were also a lot of semi-dry blood stains near the wound that looked quite dirty.
“That…” Chen Keyao looked at him stiffly. “What did you buy? There shouldn't be any gauze in the supermarket.”
He reached out and flipped over the bag brought back by Rong Yi. Chen Keyao looked shocked.
“Why did you buy this?” He raised a pack of pads.
“There was no gauze, use this instead, ah,” said Rong Yi, grabbing some pads and iodine. “Don't move so that I can help you clean the wound.”
“Wait a minute,” Chen Keyao began to struggle. “You want to stick this thing on my face? I don't want it!”
Rong Yi felt helpless. “It's not directly attached to your face. I can't buy gauze in the middle of the night.”
“Then I don't want it!” Chen Keyao was very firm. “It's not a big wound, it'll be fine to just wash it. There's no need to specially wrap it.”
Really a bear child; not only troublesome but also willful.
“It'll get infected,” Rong Yi said. [戎逸耐着性子把人拽回来,然后低着头小心翼翼用棉签清理伤口]? “What will be done if it scars?”
“I'd rather leave a scar than stick that onto my face.” Chen Keyao whispered.
“Maybe after the infection, with half of your face rotten, children will cry when they see you and no one will come to your cla.s.s anymore.”
“…”
“It's not directly stuck on your face; why are you so concerned?” asked Rong Yi, who changed the pad. “If you feel any pain, you can say it.”
“…No pain.”
“Are there no sensory nerves on your face?” Rong Yi couldn't help but press down a little harder.
“Hey–” Chen Keyao puffed. “I know you said that you would have to touch it twice, but I didn't expect you to stab me when I said no pain.”
The guilty Rong Yi didn't say anything.
Wiping the wound cleaned, he took out a small packet of sanitary cotton and directly cut open its belly.
["我看了一圈,也就这个有纱网还消过毒”] he said, handing the tailored cotton net to Chen Keyao. “Can't see the prototype? This is what my old school nurse taught me.”
Chen Keyao frowned. He still couldn't accept it, but he couldn't find a suitable reason for rejection. He was very tangled.
Seeing that Rong Yi has finished processing the pad, it was necessary for him to see it as a prototype so that it could be accepted onto his face. Chen Keyao tried dying. “I think napkins are also good. Can we use napkins?”
“No.” Rong Yi mercilessly stuck the pad onto Chen Keyao's face. “If you really don't like it, I'll change it for you tomorrow.”
Chen Keyao looked at him with a pursed mouth.
"…Or you could go to the hospital yourself."
After he finished speaking, Rong Yi stood up from the sofa and pointed at the pile of waste on the coffee table. “You clean it up. I'm going to bed for a couple of hours.”
Chen Keyao carefully reached out and touched his wrapped wound. “Oh, good night.”
When Rong Yi reached the door, he heard him whisper, “Thank you.”
“…It's what I ought to do.” Rong Yi said.
If he wasn't in a hurry to save him, Chen Keyao wouldn't have been scratched. So for Rong Yi, it really was something he “ought to do.”
In fact, including being willing to take care of him, he should also thank him. With cheap price and good decoration, finding a tenant would not be difficult. On the contrary, it was basically impossible to find a place of the same price.
Regardless of Chen Keyao's starting point, Rong Yi was indeed blessed, but he had been deliberately avoiding thinking about it. But to let him express his grat.i.tude in a candid manner, he couldn't do it.
What happened tonight was too thrilling. Rong Yi lay in bed, turning over and over. He watched the sky lightening, but still could not sleep.
He covered his head with his quilt and thought, he better find a chance to ask Chen Keyao which dishes he likes to eat.
When Rong Yi got out of bed to go to work, he was half-dead.
Rong Yi yawned and opened the door to find that the living room had been cleaned. He hesitated for a moment before deciding to wait until he came back to find out where everything had gone.
Until he left the house, Chen Keyao's room was kept closed. Knowing that there was a camera, Rong Yi was too embarra.s.sed to sneak past and steal a peek. He even deliberately turned his back when he couldn't help yawning in the living room.
After a morning in the company, Rong Yi woke up at noon to a message from Chen Keyao. It said that that he had forgotten to tell him yesterday that he had a cla.s.s today and would not come back for dinner. He had also gone to the police station so Rong Yi wouldn't have to make another trip and gone over the surveillance to see the thief climbing in through living room window. To make the house safer, he'd even found someone to add an extra latch to their window.
Rong Yi wanted to ask if the gauze on his face had been changed and if the pad was recognised by his parents, letting him be treated as a pervert.
The words had been written. Afraid to grasp the sense of proportion, or delete?
Just as he grabbed his phone, he looked up and saw Xiao Zhang smiling at him.
Rong Yi felt inexplicably guilty. “What are you doing, laughing so badly.”
“Hey,” Xiao Zhang ran to him and sat down. ["我们大帅哥和谁发消息呀,一会儿开心一会儿皱眉头,表情那么丰富。"]
[戎逸顿时一脸僵硬:"就你事儿多,你上午一直不好好干活偷偷看手机以为我没发现是不是,想加班啊?] sorry :((( this makes no sense to me
“There's still time.” Xiao Zhang clearly lacked respect for her immediate superior. “Come, and I'll show you a good thing.”
She handed her phone to Rong Yi and dubbed in a pa.s.sionate voice. “Hey~!”
Rong Yi looked down and immediately became excited. “Wow, this is?”
“A new photo from Momo's magazine! You said it was true love, but you don't care about him at all.” Xiao Zhang looked disdainful. “Don't rob me of my husband again.”
Rong Yi picked up his phone. “Send it to me.”
After replacing his screen saver with a handsome photo of an unknown number of his s...o...b..z husbands, Rong Yi's mood greatly improved.
He pa.s.sed the convenience store on his way home, hesitating for a while before going inside.
In fact, the number of ingredients he'd bought yesterday was enough to support two days of cooking. But when there was no one to cook for, he was too lazy to cook.
As Rong Yi entered the house with his food, he didn't expect to see a figure on the couch.
“Did you come back to eat?” Rong Yi bowed his head and changed shoes. “I bought a box lunch for myself. Do you want to make something yourself or should I just give you some of mine?”
While he was removing his shoes, the man on the sofa didn't answer.
Yesterday's midnight experience had made Rong Yi wary and he quickly walked two steps inside. Then, as a feeling of relief washed over him, so did a feeling of inexplicable sadness.
The man on the sofa, at first glance, was very similar to Chen Keyao, but a lot older. This was Chen Keyao's father.
“Xiao Rong,” Chen father stood up and smiled at him graciously. “Yao Yao didn't come back to eat today?”
Rong Yi wanted to laugh when he heard the name “Yao Yao.” In order to prevent his distorted expression from being seen by the other party, he could only bow his head unnaturally. “He has a cla.s.s. Uncle, if you want to find him, call him.”
“It's nothing, I just came over to look.” Chen father waved his hand and sat back. Then, he suddenly asked, “Do you usually have dinner together?”
“Uh…” Rong Yi didn't know how to answer, “We're sort of… Come on, man.” [搭伙吧。] does it really translate as ‘come on, man?'
“Yao Yao told me the other day that you just met?” Chen continued to ask, “Where are you sleeping at night?”
Rong Yi felt like fainting.
[他一瞬间有些明白了为什么陈柯尧看到自己的父亲会如此头大.] The uncle was so handsome and charming, but his words sounded like those of a mother-in-law. Really uncomfortable, ah.
“Uncle.” Rong Yi didn't want to continue beating around the bush. He simply walked over and sat next to him. “I know what you're suspecting, but Chen Keyao and I really don't have that kind of relations.h.i.+p.”
“Since you are familiar, you already know… that…”
“Yes, I know. So we can't.” Rong Yi pulled from his pocket his new ID card. “I'm an Omega.”
Chen Father looked down at his doc.u.ments, then looked up at his face, then looked down at his doc.u.ments, then looked up at his face, then looked down at his doc.u.ments.
“It's true,” Rong Yi took the ID card back. “Do you believe it now? Chen Keyao and I are clear and innocent.”
Chen father looked at him. “You really…”
In the face of many similar scenes since his differentiation, Rong Yi simply nodded. “Yes, although I look different, I really am an Omega. “[所以,我和你们陈柯尧……]”
“Oh,” Chen father suddenly smiled. “Xiao Rong, don't say so, Yao Yao is actually very good.”
The author has something to say:
Everyone will have the same question! Regarding the male Omega, will it come to the use of the end?
