Outside of the operating room.

Everyone saw a glimpse of hope when Dong Xuebing stepped forward. They thought he was a doctor or a medical student. Sun Kai cannot hold on any longer, and the hospital wants to save him. But Dong Xuebing said, “I major in Computer Science,” and killed all their hopes. The nurse and Deputy Surgeon almost fainted.

Medical students need to study for at least five years. It is more complex than other courses, which are only three to four years. It is a specialized course and unrelated to other courses. Computer Science has nothing to do with medicine.

The nurse stopped Dong Xuebing. “Stop!”

The Deputy Surgeon blocked the door. “Are you kidding me?”

The teachers stopped crying and looked at Teacher Sun’s friend. “Teacher Sun is not going to make it. Can you don’t create more trouble?”

Dong Xuebing told them the truth. He did study Computer Science. “Xiao Sun is my friend. Will I harm him?”

A female teacher rubbed her swollen eyes. “But you…”

The nurse said angrily. “You cannot go in! What the h.e.l.l are you thinking?”

Dong Xuebing looked at her. “Why would I do this surgery if you all can save him?”

The Deputy Surgeon was dumbfounded.

The nurse shouted. “Are you trying to kill him?”

“I can’t be bothered with you.” Dong Xuebing pushed them aside and entered the operating theater.

The nurse almost fell.

The Deputy Surgeon could not stop Dong Xuebing and ran after him. “What are you doing?”

The people inside were shocked because they overheard their conversation. He did not expect this young man to go in.

Dong Xuebing ignored them and took a scrub from a shelf. He put it on and wore the scrub cap. The nurse tried to block his way again but was pushed away. He put on the gloves and walked to the operating table. “This is life and death. I will do it if you all cannot save him.”

The primary surgeon frowned. “No! This is ridiculous.”

The second deputy surgeon shouted. “Stop creating trouble! We are in the midst of an operation!! What do an outsider like you know?”

The first deputy shouted. “Call security! Get him out of here first! This is ridiculous! Who left the door unlocked?”

Suddenly…

Beep… beep… beep… beep… beep…

The monitoring device’s alarm sounded again.

The primary surgeon’s face changed. “The patient is not going to make it!”

The rest did not care about Dong Xuebing anymore. They rushed forward and crowded around Sun Kai.

The nurse shouted. “Blood pressure 50! Heart rate is dropping! 35! 33! 29!”

The primary surgeon immediately instructed his deputy to give Sun Kai another shot and tried to suture his blood vessels. But he failed at suturing the organs. He would make mistakes on the third or fourth suture and have to redo it.

“Blood pressure 40!”

“Heart rate 20!”

“We are losing him!”

Sun Kai’s vitals continued to drop.

The surgeons were not helping at all.

The primary surgeon, two deputy surgeons, and nurses sighed. They knew there was nothing he could do. The patient’s injury is too severe. Even if they can suture the wounds, he could not survive.

“I told you all to let me do it!” Dong Xuebing was nervous and pushed the surgeons aside. “Step aside!”

“He is not going to make it.” The primary surgeon said helplessly.

“Not going to make it, my a.s.s!” Dong Xuebing did not look at them. He stared at Sun Kai and pressed an acupuncture point on his abdomen hard. He focused on Sun Kai’s head and areas outside the wound and said REVERSE 1 second in his heart.

“What are you doing?”

“Don’t use so much force!”

The others shouted for Dong Xuebing to stop.

But they were shocked the next second.

“Eh? The blood pressure is rising!”

“50… 55… 60…”

“The heart rate is increasing too! 35… 40… 50…”

“How is this possible? Why did his vitals recover suddenly?”

The surgeons and nurses had not done anything. The only explanation was that the young man pressed on that acupuncture point.

What is this method?

Chinese medicine? This guy knows medicine?”

Dong Xuebing stood in front of the table and reached out his hand. “Gauze!”

“Ah?” The nurse was surprised, and she looked at Dong Xuebing.

“I said gauze!” Dong Xuebing could recover Sun Kai for a moment but cannot do it forever. After all, the wound on his stomach is too big.

“This…” The nurse and deputy surgeons hesitated.

The Primary surgeon looked at Dong Xuebing and said. “Give it to him!”

“Doctor Zhang, this is against regulations.” The nurse said.

The Primary surgeon took the gauze and pa.s.sed it to Dong Xuebing.

Dong Xuebing took it from him. He read lots of medical books and saw how doctors used them previously. He remembered the procedures, and his hands did not stop. He pushed the gauze into the wound and wiped it before throwing the soaked gauze away. He took another gauze and wiped the blood again.

Most people would tremble when they saw a b.l.o.o.d.y wound like this. Only experienced doctors can remain calm. Dong Xuebing was calm, and his hands were steady.

The nurses looked at Dong Xuebing, surprised.

The deputies were also shocked.

His hands were steady. He learned how to do surgery before.

Dong Xuebing did not learn. He remained calm because he saw too many b.l.o.o.d.y scenes. He had injured at least a few hundred people and killed several dozens. He fought countless battles and saw more blood than these doctors. How can he get nervous because of a small knife wound like this?

How can Dong Xuebing be scared after he killed so many people?

Dong Xuebing does not even need to blink in front of this wound.

The blood was wiped.

Dong Xuebing could see the wound now.

Dong Xuebing reached out. “Suture needle.”

The nurse did not move. She felt allowing an outsider who studied Computer Science to operate on a patient was ridiculous. She does not want to bear the responsibility.

But the first deputy surgeon quickly pa.s.sed the suture needle and thread to Dong Xuebing.

Although Dong Xuebing saw how the Primary surgeon sutured the wound, it was his first time using it. He recalled what he read and how to use these tools. The thread was catgut, and it would dissolve after some days.

The second deputy surgeon reminded. “Be careful.”

The Primary surgeon added. “The wound is uneven, and I failed to suture the wound a few times earlier, causing more damage to his wound. It’s hard to suture it.”

Dong Xuebing took a deep breath. “I will try.”

Dong Xuebing’s eyes changed as he lowered his head. He was focused on the wound.

Pull the thread…

It looked easy, but Dong Xuebing had only read and seen others doing it. How can he be good at it?

Dong Xuebing made a mistake on his first suture.

The Primary surgeon quickly said. “It’s slanted. This will not do it.”

More bleeding. It means Dong Xuebing had sutured the wrong area.

Dong Xuebing’s eyes narrowed and mumbled BACK 3 seconds.

Time returned to the point when Dong Xuebing was about to push the needle through.

This time, Dong Xuebing adjusted the angle and pushed the needle through. He got it right this time and continued to do the second st.i.tch.

Dong Xuebing did not make any mistakes.

Everyone in the operating theater held their breaths.

But the third st.i.tch is at the uneven part of the wound.

If Dong Xuebing makes a mistake here, he will have to undo all the st.i.tches and do it again. This was why the Primary surgeon failed earlier.

A mistake was made on the third st.i.tch.

It was in the wrong position. BACK 2 seconds…
