The second day came soon. Bai Yao was already well prepared. Though she had some different feeling toward her sister, she wanted to watch the drama.

After breakfast, Bai Yao and Bai Yu and some servants went out early.

They both were sitting in the palanquins, thinking of different issues. Bai Yao was so eager to watch the drama. However, Bai Yu wanted her to fall at the theater, or her palanquin to break right now. She was no better.

They arrived at the theater tea house shortly and chose a first-cla.s.s room. The waiter came to serve quickly. n.o.body dared ignore them, because of their father’s social status.

The tea house prepared some snacks for them, and then the two sisters began to watch the drama quietly. Bai Yao was always curious about everything, from the drama to the players. She herself to smiled as a beautiful lotus flower, who made all the male guests fall for her.

But a man behind the folding screen opposite them had a different purpose.

This man was the Prince, Mo Xi. He admired the power of their father. If he got his help, he could take the throne easier.

Though he was a crafty one, his face was fascinating. His hair was black and long, and he had amorous eyes, which could make any woman easily fall for him.

He watched every movement Bai Yao made.

All of a sudden, five or six black men flew down from the roof to fall in front of Bai Yao, which shocked her. They took the two sisters without any explanation. Right at this moment, Mo Xi ran out from his room and kicked away the black man who was holding Bai Yao and he brought Bai Yao into his own box.

The sounds of the second floor startled Mo Xi’s guards and they hurried to save him. In a short time, all the men in black were caught.

This incident made Bai Yao and Bai Yu panic. Fortunately, they were saved by a warrior.

Then they hurried to leave the tea house. When they moved to the downstairs, Bai Yu had a chance to look at the warrior carefully, and she was so surprised to see the man of her dreams. Bai Yao hadn’t seen the Prince before, so she couldn’t recognize him.

Bai Yao bowed to greet him. “Thank you, Prince. Would you let me know your name? We will go visit our savior later.”

“No need. My name is Mo Xi.” Mo Xi answered as if he didn’t know her from before.

“My name is Bai Yao. Greetings to you.”

Mo Xi pretended to be so surprised. “So, you are the girl engaged to me. You are so pretty, like a fairy lady.”

Bai Yu now came to greet to him, too.

The praise of the Prince made Bai Yu so jealous. Bai Yu was so infatuated with his appearance, but the engagement of her sister to him stopped her.

So, nothing good could belong to her in the family.

Even as the Prince praised her, she only saw her sister’s shadow in his eyes, as if she was transparent. Though she was very angry, her expression remained kind and nice.

Bai Yao forgot her antipathy toward him when she heard of the engagement. However, she was deeply impressed by him. She began to talk to him about interesting topics, and the smiles never left their faces.

The three were walking awkwardly on the street, but both the Prince and Bai Yao didn’t notice. Since Bai Yao knew little about the city, the Prince promised to take her out for traveling.

Bai Yu hated herself so much. It was she who arranged this special drama for they two. If not for her, Bai Yao wouldn’t have seen the Prince so soon.

But she didn’t guess the accident was not simple. The Prince wanted to make his throne 100 percent safe, so he had plotted this hero story.

He didn’t know that he had won the hearts of the two ladies; one turned from sick to graceful, while the other fell deeper.

The way back was not long. The Prince said goodbye to them after sending them safely to Bai Yao’s Bamboo Garden.

Mo Xi’s eyes were so sharp, as if he could see through everybody’s heart. He smiled and asked, “If you don’t mind, shall we have an outing tomorrow?”

“Great! Where shall we go?” Bai Yao asked with her head tilted.

The Prince thought for a while, then he suggested, “Why not go to see some acrobatics? I heard that a new, highly-skilled circus just arrived in the city. I have tried many old circuses, but only two of them were satisfying. But this new one sounds wonderful. How about that?”

Bai Yao was amazed by this suggestion because she had never got the chance to watch the acrobatics when she returned back. She agreed without hesitation.

Then, the two sister went back to their own buildings. Though she didn’t say anything, Bai Yu had constrained many feelings in her heart.

Bai Yu was not invited by the Prince, which meant that she couldn’t go watch the drama tomorrow. She was so envious about this. She wouldn’t let them go easily.
