Sheng Qianmo observed the little girl sipping the medicine with difficulty, but pretended to be calm . Her twisted expression was depressing, but Sheng Qianmo said as he wiped at Shu Nuan’s glistening lip with his fingertip, “You look aggrieved . ”

As she soaked in the warmth of his hand against her abdomen, she recalled the festival when, in the backyard, Sheng Qianmo had inserted his finger into her mouth . She promptly cowered a little and mumbled something .

After Shu Nuan finished her medicine, Sheng Qianmo put down the bowl and said, “This Prince has already asked for a day off for you . So have a good rest in the manor today, okay?”

Seeing that she had no right to refuse, Shu Nuan nodded .

As Sheng Qianmo got up to leave for the military camp, Shu Nuan grabbed his hand and looked him in the eyes . Speaking each word with care, she said, “Your Highness, will you hear your slave’s explanation?”

Sheng Qianmo’s face sank . However, he glanced at Shu Nuan’s grip on his hand, where a white, delicate hand was revealed from within an icy silk sleeve . He stared at the delicate fingers holding him in place . In response, he slowly covered her hand with his palm .

“Alright . ”

Shu Nuan let out a sigh of relief and told him in brief about what had transpired during the night two days prior .  

Sheng Qianmo listened and didn’t interrupt her once .

Shu Nuan thought he wouldn’t believe her and couldn’t help saying, “I really meant to come back before dark…”

“In conclusion, someone kidnapped you and Jing Fei and wouldn’t let you two out of his house?”

Shu Nuan gave a solemn nod .

Sheng Qianmo was silent for a moment . Then he rubbed her hair . “This Prince knows . ”

Hearing Sheng Qianmo speak without much emotion, Shu Nuan’s anxiety only grew . She couldn’t tell whether he truly believed her or not . She waited for him to continue .

“This Prince will find that man . ” Sheng Qianmo squinted his eyes .
 

Shu Nuan held out her second hand and grasped his with it . Swaying his hand a little, she said with an uncertainty evident in her voice, “Does Your Highness believe me?”

Sheng Qianmo gazed down at the little girl with beautiful blue eyes . All of a sudden, he lowered his head and kissed her at the corner of her eye . She could feel his warm breath caress her face .

“This Prince was wrong . ”

Sheng Qianmo admitted that this time he had been out of his mind .

He had punished her immediately without careful judgement .

But if he encountered this situation again, he realized he would repeat his mistake .

It was the result of his possessiveness for Shu Nuan that exceeded his own estimation .

After hearing that Shu Nuan had come out of a fellow teenager’s house in the morning, his mind had been out of control and he had punished her to strip…

Sheng Qianmo also remembered that the young man had been Shu Nuan’s partner as the male lead in their stage play . Sheng Qianmo’s possessiveness wasn’t to be underestimated as it was abnormal . How could he tolerate this boy to appear near her again?
