“How dare you ask! Are you making excuses for yourself now? Fine! I’ll let Pepsi talk to you herself!” Fuming, Qi Yanxi turned the phone to Pepsi.
The rims of Pepsi’s eyes were still red, which made Si Bai’s stomach lurch as soon as he saw her.

Seeing how miserable he looked, the usually mild Mrs. Si was a little vexed as well. “Little Bai, what happened? Was there a misunderstanding?”
Si Bai lowered his head and said earnestly, “No, it was my fault. I… let Pepsi down.”
“Wh- what have you done?” Mrs. Si was taken aback.
Si Bai shook his head stubbornly and wouldn’t say a word.

The two women chatted happily the entire afternoon, covering topics from general gossip to their favorite idols. When the subject turned to their friends, Su Xiaomo sighed. “Have you heard? Shanshan and Fengfeng’s wedding was postponed.”
“I have. What happened? Are they fighting again?”
Su Xiaomo shrugged and sighed in resignation. “They must be. The new date was ‘to be determined,’ and so much can happen until then. I would hate to see them break up…”
“They won’t!” An Xiaxia bit her lip. “Shanshan really likes Fengfeng.”
“Fengfeng doesn’t like her any less. But they… Well, enough about them. I’m thinking about visiting Cutie He’s mother during the Lantern Festival. What do you think… should I do it?”
An Xiaxia didn’t know anything about He Jiayu’s past, but she did have some idea about the estrangement between mother and son.
“But it scares me…”
