“Shut up!” Su Xiaomo rolled her eyes at him and rose to her feet.

“We’re only doing this for your own good… you’re already old enough to marry and Jiayu is such a wonderful guy. What more do you want?” Her mother sounded distressed.

He Jiayu said, “Momo, calm down. We can talk about this…” We don’t have to get married if you don’t want to.

She marched toward the door, caring about nothing else.

He Jiayu followed her out in a hurry.

“Momo! What’s all this about? You’re breaking up with me because I met your parents?” He Jiayu was baffled.

Su Xiaomo threw him off, hailed a taxi, and went back to the home they shared. She packed everything of hers, then walked out with a suitcase.

He Jiayu stopped her at the door. Despite his usual mild temper, he was irritated by Su Xiaomo this time.

“Are you leaving me?”

“Yes. Do whatever you want with everything else.” Su Xiaomo’s voice was emotionless.

He Jiayu clenched his fists and tried to keep his voice from trembling. “Do you know how long we’ve known each other? Eight years… You’re just throwing away an eight-year relations.h.i.+p like that?”

Su Xiaomo beamed at him. “That’s right. I’ve enjoyed the relations.h.i.+p, slept with you, and spent your money. It cost me nothing. I’ve had enough now and I want out. What’s wrong with that?”

She boorishly pushed He Jiayu out of her way and He Jiayu looked hurt. “Stop right there!”

Su Xiaomo swung her palm at He Jiayu. She was fast and had used all her strength, which caught He Jiayu off-guard. She slapped He Jiayu right on his cheek.

He Jiayu blinked, staring at her in astonishment.

She left without looking back.
