Bypa.s.sing the stone building which had been split apart, then making a turn, to where a relatively small main square was. A network of scary cracks covered the main square. The surrounding buildings were crooked and slanted. Some of them had even completely collapsed. There was originally a building in the middle of the main square, but all it was left was a pile of debris. For a structure to have been built in the center, it was most probably a statue or an altar. Unfortunately, only a pile of rubble remained; Ning Tao could not reconstruct in his head how it could have looked.

The ripples of the ink in the Soil-seeking Inkstone surged towards a graduation.

Ning Tao continued heading in the direction which the Soil-seeking Inkstone was leading him. He pa.s.sed through the main square filled with frightening cracks, then entering a different street. The damage of the street was even more serious; there were not only signs of the ground having been split by an axe, but also many holes, resembling those created from bombing. The buildings on both sides of the streets were damaged; some were half-collapsed, others were piles of rubble on the ground, completely disintegrated into dust.

It seemed that a war had occurred there. As the party defending their city, the Feminine-moon people must had been involved in the war. Then who was on the other side?

The image of sword deities from television shows had surfaced on Ning Tao's mind, but he knew it was impossible. Shouldn't sword deities be in the heavenly realm? If they were on earth, how had no human discovered them yet?

Continuing forward, at the end of the street lay the ruins of a building. Judging on the scale of the ruins and the remains of the building, Ning Tao thought that it could have been a pedestal in its “lifetime”, and on top of it was a castle-like architecture.

Kings and emperors during the ancient times liked to build incredibly high pedestals, building their palaces and mansions atop of it to display their n.o.ble and distinguished status. Thus, according to that judgment, the ruins before him were most likely the royal palace from the Feminine-moon people, or a residence, or political office, of a tribal leader or chief.

The ink ripples in the Soil-seeking Inkstone surged in the 14th point direction.

Ning Tao carefully proceeded into the ruins. There were big and small stone materials, some had been shattered and some were intact. After walking for a short distance, Ning Tao saw a piece of rock which was of a few meters long and a meter in thickness. There were indecipherable writings and symbols carved on it. If he could read the writings of the Feminine-moon people, then he would have been able to decipher the writings and symbols on the steles and have a deeper understanding of the civilization of the Feminine-moon people. Unfortunately, he could not. Neither could anyone else.

Not far from the ruins, the torchlight on his phone had revealed a statue which had fallen among the pile of rubble. Ning Tao paused in his tracks. That statue was as tall as a person. It had hands and legs, carved out of a type of white rock. However, its legs were detached, broken away from the rest of its body. Its head was buried among the pile of rubble, only revealing a part of the neck, unable to see any features of its head.

“Could it be a statue of the Feminine-moon people?” Ning Tao was curious about their appearance. He squatted down, and placed the Soil-seeking Inkstone aside; then, he picked up the debris piece by piece.

The head of the statue was revealed. It was wearing a helmet, its face facing the ground.

“You're so shy, aren't you? You don't want to meet me?” Ning Tao remarked. He placed his hand on the statue's shoulder then flipped it over.

The statue was very heavy, at least a few hundred kilograms. However, that weight meant hardly anything to Ning Tao; he turned it over effortlessly.

The face of the statue looked like someone with powerful might, like the statue of a warrior. Their features did not differ from a human being's. There were nose and eyes, and the proportions of their features were normal as well. The only difference was the crescent motif on their foreheads. Their faces were white as snow, yet the crescent was black.

There was only one person in history with such a forehead motif, and that was Bao Qingtian. However, Lord Bao Zheng's face was entirely black, while that face was so white it was somewhat frightening.

“This is the Feminine-moon people? If they really had a crescent motif on their forehead, then it had to be a special feature. But this is just a statue, it's still not confirmed that it's one of the Feminine-moon people.” Ning Tao made a rational judgement, then snapped a photograph of it. He picked up the Soil-seeking Inkstone and continued walking.

After walking for a distance, and being almost out of the “royal palace” ruins, the ripples in the Soil-seeking Inkstone suddenly concentrated toward the center. The degree of its collapse and tremor was the greatest ever since he had been using the Soil-seeking Inkstone!

The rate of vibration had become increasingly intense, which meant that the amount of spiritual soil detected was shocking.

Ning Tao grew excited immediately. He placed the Soil-seeking Inkstone aside, and then started moving the rocks.

The rocks were moved away one by one. Some of them weighed a few kilograms; others were a few hundred kilograms, but a few of the stone slabs were intact and weighed at least two tons. He would not be able to move them with his bare hands.

Anyway, he had a solution to the problem, which was the herb-collecting rope.

He took the rope out, grabbing it from the middle and charging it with spiritual power. He promptly threw the other end of the rope out towards a huge stone structure.

With the force of the spiritual power, the rope flew over. The end of the rope was glistening; black and white aura surrounded it. Before that, it was a soft rope, but at the moment, the end of the rope was as sharp as a javelin!

It was a magic tool of the Sky Clinic after all. How could any other magic tool be compared to it? Ning Tao could not use the magic tools used by ordinary pract.i.tioners, yet he was able to use the magic tools exclusive to the Sky Clinic. Not only could that herb-collecting rope become of any length he wished it to be, but it could also be used as a weapon.

Bang!

Crack!

The end of the rope pierced right into a huge stone slab, at least seven to eight inches deep! A dull sound was made; cracks started appearing and spreading. However, the rope had instantly softened again, a few seconds after it was pierced into the rock. Ning Tao's arm felt a numbing ache.

That had exhausted a substantial amount of his spiritual power.

Ning Tao took a break to adjust himself again, then retrieved the herb-collecting rope and charged it with spiritual power again, then threw it out again.

Bang!

Crack!

The huge rock shook, and the number of cracks increased.

Withdraw, and pierce.

Withdraw, and pierce…

After repeating the process for about ten times, that huge piece of rock was broken into pieces of rocks of varying sizes.

Ning Tao removed the rocks, and brushed away the debris below. An area of the ground was revealed; it was covered in tiles, but some of it had been destroyed, revealing some black soil. He removed the smashed tiles, then removed the ones remaining. Finally, a patch of black soil was revealed before him.

That black soil was clearly not spiritual soil.

“Do I have to dig more?” Ning Tao was instantly vexed. The bouts of physical exertion had exhausted him; he sat down on the black soil, then lay down for a rest.

Just then, the torchlight of his phone had suddenly vanished. Its battery was running flat.

Ning Tao climbed up, then retrieved the portable charger from the small medicine chest to charge his phone. Just when he was putting his phone and charger down, he noticed a small porcelain bottle, and an idea came to mind.

The bottle contained a deficient Ancestor-seeking Elixir with increased elixir power.

How could he have forgotten it?

No one else would know what had happened there or how the Feminine-moon people looked like, but he could see it for himself!

He removed the wooden cork from the bottle, then poured the deficient Ancestor-seeking Elixir into his palm. There was instantly an odd elixir scent. The glowing bluish elixir light was exceptionally outstanding in the darkness. The elixir was like a crystal clear yet luminous piece of gem in his hand. It was of a demonic type of beauty.

Ning Tao activated his power of sight and smell, and brought the deficient Ancestor-seeking Elixir close to his nose and sniffed it. In that instant, the elixir odor of the Ancestor-seeking Elixir had invaded into his nostrils like waves rus.h.i.+ng in. With his skin in contact and the agitation caused by the strong elixir odor, his eyes were instantly suffering from a burning sensation. He was in a state of “temporarily blindness”.

During a timeframe of a few seconds, the surroundings around Ning Tao had immediately changed.

The ruins were no longer ruins, but instead, an ancient town. There were many people; men, women, old and young. They were dressed in odd clothing, their skin so fair it looked almost transparent. Their hair was all very long, and was also white as snow. Regardless of men or women, elderly or children, everyone had a crescent motif on their foreheads. Yet, it was not naturally formed, but rather, drawn on using a certain black pigment.

Those people with almost-transparent fair skin and crescent motifs drawn on their foreheads were clearly the owners of that city, the Feminine-moon people.

On the streets, the Feminine-moon people were leading Shennongjia wild men around, resembling humans walking their Tibetan Mastiffs on a leash. Some of the Feminine-moon people were even using whips to drive a group of Shennongjia wild men to transport stone materials to a construction area. The Shennongjia wild men were incredibly strong, and were effortlessly carrying two tons of stone material on their backs. On the parade square, an elderly was delivering a speech. A huge group of people were gathered around him. Each and every member of the audience were fully invested. A grand stone stele stood behind him. It was carved with a dense amount of writings and symbols. Unfortunately, even if he were looking at it personally, Ning Tao could not understand it.

On the balcony of a stone building beside the main square, a Feminine-moon lady was breastfeeding her child. Her gaze was endearing and loving. The little baby used its little hand to grab onto the woman's nose. They were smiling very innocently.

Ning Tao had also seen the royal palace. It was the most majestic and impressive architecture in the whole city. He was wrong. He had a.s.sumed that the royal palace was like the castles of medieval Europe. However, it had turned out to be a squarish building and a few adjacent rectangular buildings. Even the pillars holding up the roof were also rectangular.

There were guards at the entrance of the palace, who looked like the statues which he had discovered earlier on. They were wearing body armor and were wielding weapons. Their weapons were all the same, pikes and s.h.i.+elds. The pikes were very long, of about three meters in height.

Suddenly, the image of the past before Ning Tao shook. A red figure suddenly appeared before him.
