My sword pierced through its chest, and it froze away, with a great shock in its eyes.

It had thought it won and even brought me to the place where it felt most secure. Though it didn't know I had started to infect it and there is nothing better than that is my own blood essence.

There is a large amount of forbidden power filled in it due to the treatments and I took advantage of that in creating this dangerous plan.

If it had failed, n.o.body would have been able to help me from dying.

Thankfully, it didn't fail. I succeeded in killing it.

A second pa.s.sed, and it disappeared and with it, the phantom begins to disperse, till only the light mist had remained around me. The same thing happened with the cage.

Though it is happening very slowly, due to not being infected by my blood essence.

The stone skin quickly cut through the cage and appeared beside me, with a smile on his face.

"Whew, you kill it. If it had killed you, I would have needed to use my trump card to escape," he said, without showing even a hint of gratefulness on his face.

"It is good. That I had killed it then." I replied, barely able to keep a smile on my face.

"Don't forget, I had played a big part in tiring it out before you killed. So, you should share half of what you have found in its storage," he said, and I was shocked.

It took me several seconds to believe what he had said.

Seeing such shamelessness. All the pleasant expressions I am forcing on my face disappeared.

"Are you serious?" I asked him back and an angry frown appeared on his face. "What! you don't what to share?" he asked back and took a step toward me threateningly.

"Listen, you unaffiliated b.a.s.t.a.r.d; the only reason you are able to kill the sp.a.w.n was because of me. If you didn't share it, then I will have to take matters into my own hand," he threatened, bringing the sword in his hand.

"I am not giving you anything. So, what are you going to do, you ungrateful s.h.i.+t?" I asked back, and it smiled, filled with killing intent.

"I will kill you, of course. I don't mind taking it off from your dead body," it said, taking another step toward me.

"Can you even do it, you weakling? I had killed the sp.a.w.n who was about to kill you, you don't have the strength to kill me," I dared, and he laughed, and looked at me mockingly.

"You had burned your blood to kill it. I am sure what you are showing is bravado and weak as an ant right now," it said, taking another step further.

"Kill me, then, if you are so sure," I dared once again, and the anger in its eyes blazed again, along with uncertainty, which it pushed back.

"Since you want the deal so badly, I will give it to you," he said and attacked me and he did not hold back anything. He is using even greater power. It had been used against the Grimm to kill me.

I can't believe it.

I had dared it, but I truly did not think this ungrateful b.a.s.t.a.r.d would actually move to kill me. The person who had saved his life.

There is not a shred of gratefulness in his eyes, and since he didn't have it, I will not hold back either.

Its sword was a few inches away from my neck when I suddenly disappeared; the next moment, I was beside it, with my sword cutting through his neck, and he is looking at me in horror and regret.

I had met many ent.i.tled b.a.s.t.a.r.ds from the organization. Some even tried to rob me, with killing intent.

Usually, I kill such people, but seeing our numbers compared to the Grimms and environment of this ruin, I spare them, when I saw they only wanted to beat the s.h.i.+t out of me and loot me.

This b.a.s.t.a.r.d actually tried to kill me. There is no way I could forgive someone like this, no matter how bad a condition it is for us natives.

Soon, my sword cut through his head, and it died. I quickly removed every artifact he had, while leaving the body on the ground. I don't care if Monsters ate it or Grimms.

I looked around my soul sense and when I everything is safe. I took out the stealth artifact and moved out of the battlefield.

It didn't take long for Grimm to be harvested and strengthen the energy released from it. 

The moment the strengthening energy entered me; I stopped burning my essence, and an intense bout of weakness. .h.i.t me. It is so hard that I nearly collapsed on the ground.

I bore it and let the strengthening energy fill me, along with a powerful combination of energies, including the vital energies from the necrotic tree.

With it mixing with strengthening energy, its effect accelerated, and the weakness begin to elevate slowly.

A few seconds later, I removed my hand from the trees as support, and a couple of more seconds later; I begin to walk.

I am recovering fast and not only because of the strengthening energy and the formation but also because I had not burned too much essence.

I had been careful with it and used the formation to gain further power. It helped me tremendously to save a lot of essential energy.

A few minutes pa.s.sed and the strengthening energy disappeared and sometimes after that, the growth energy. 

I have not completely recovered, but I am stronger than before thanks to the powerful dose of the strengthening energy that Lionman had provided to me, and will be even stronger after I had recovered from the loss of essence energy.

I will recover fully before evening and if I found one or two Grimms with bloodline, it will be even sooner.

The Lionman had been powerful and taught me a lesson. I need to vet my enemies, my enemies more thoroughly or even burning, my essence won't save me.
