Never Forget Me 4 Sudden Promotion

Modesty arrived at Cameron Corp early, when she walked in a woman at the main desk looked at her with disgust in her eyes. Then she turned to the person next to her and said to her in Mandarin.

"Why do they let dirty foreigners in here. I know it's a foreign-run company but at least the ones who work here are neat and clean. Unlike the ones that just walk in here off the streets."

Then she turned to Modesty smiled a brittle smile and said in English "Hi how may I help you?"

But before Modesty could respond she heard her name called. "Vice President Cameron, you are here earlier than expected. They were going to send someone to come and pick you up from your hotel."

Modesty smiled it was her friend Chu Hua Huan. Obviously just like Modesty she heard what the receptionist had said. Modesty smiled and said in perfect Mandarin.

"HuaHua I have missed you, how are you? Don't worry, since I'm going to be here for a while I wanted to get acclimated to the city, I like being able to find my way around."

Chu Hua Huan smiled, she knew why her friend answered in Mandarin instead of English She wanted the woman to know that she had heard and understood every word that she had said.

Modesty turned back to the woman at the receptionist desk who had turned deathly pale. "Vice President Cameron, how are you? Do you need anything while you are here?"

Modesty smiled at the woman and saw that silent tears had started to slide down her cheeks. "Yes, I need you to pack your things and go collect your last check."

Then Modesty turned to Chu Hua Huan who was grinning. "a.s.sistant to Vice President Chu can you go and inform human resources what has happened with this young lady. Then can you return to my office so that we can discuss your new duties as my a.s.sistant?"

The young woman looked at Modesty with a shocked expression, then heat suffused her cheeks.

She only did what she had done because Modesty was her friend and the vice president of the company. She should have been shown respect by everyone, not because she wanted a promotion. But, Chu Hua Huan was determined that she was going to be the best a.s.sistant ever.

"Yes, boss. Your office is on the top floor. Your name has been printed on the door. I will make sure to meet you there in fifteen minutes."

Modesty nodded her head and started toward the elevators. The other woman that the person she had fired was talking to, called out her name while rus.h.i.+ng toward her. "Vice President Cameron?"

Modesty turned, "Your key card. I had it here awaiting your arrival."

Modesty nodded and took the key card and got on the elevator. She swiped the card and pushed the b.u.t.ton for the top floor. The elevator swept her up, and when the doors opened, she noticed that there were only four offices.

One for her uncle, one for her, and one for Bao Ah Song, he was the CEO, and the last one was for Bao Ah Jing the Personnel Director.

She had met the both of them when she had her introduction banquet. They were both nice men, they had the same surname Bao but from her understanding, they weren't related. It didn't matter to her if they were, as long as it didn't affect their work, Cameron corp's bottom line, or cause disharmony in the company.
