Guo Ru alerted Yang Lin the moment he spotted Zhang Tianyu in the building of HuaQu hospital. He told the younger man to get ready for the performance that he must carry out before the President of Zhang Corporation. Anytime he spoke to Yang Lin he would mute the two way monitor that showed the operating room and where he was, this was to avoid giving out what he planned for the Zhang heiress, should any of the surgical team decide to leak out what they saw despite the threats he and Yang Lin made to them.

"Alright everyone, get into position! Do not cry, only look sad that's all I need to see from where I am. When you meet Miss Zhang's uncle, the story you must tell him is that she died from complications during surgery. If you are asked further about what happened, let Dr w.a.n.g take the lead! Don't say anything, if one of you says one thing and the other person is saying something else. That would raise his suspicion, just let the doctor handle what she "died" from, that includes everyone in the room!"

Yang Lin knew the other man avoided mentioning his name, while delivering his directive.

"Now let's practice, Dr w.a.n.g tell them what you think Miss Zhang Mi died from, everyone has to be on the same page, I repeat do not speak when questioned by President Zhang, leave the explanation to the doctor! Anyone that doesn't do as told will face untold consequences. Are we clear on this?!"

The reply was a simple toneless, "Yes!" from the deeply shaken medical personnel. After this Dr w.a.n.g faced "his people" having gone through countless surgeries together and met outside the hospital for drinks and trips together, in a way they were all close, but at times situations in life could make a person change ground and choose what would benefit them, regardless of friends.h.i.+p and togetherness. The seriousness each one had during their countless surgeries together, did not take away from from their bond, in comparison to superficial friendliness that some teams had with one another.

"Zhang Mi, female, aged 28 died of bleeding complications during surgery, measures to resuscitate proved futile, patient pa.s.sed away at around 2:18 pm."

As though they were receiving the usual patient report, the other staff looked earnestly at the face of their "leader" who showed calmness in the face of the disturbing situation they were all thrown into. This slowly shook off the fear that latched onto their bones, the mask of professionalism finally came over them along with the show of comrades.h.i.+p towards their "team leader" who was none other than Dr w.a.n.g. At end of the report, Dr w.a.n.g gave a call to his "men" by saying, " What are we?!"

"HuaQu's finest! We are the fearless legal butchers! Saving lives as we go!"

The unexpected corny response coupled with a hand raised in the air from the Nurse, Anesthesiologist and First a.s.sist made Yang Lin and Guo Ru roar in laughter, it felt so childish to the men. This was followed with a round of applause, to cement the belief in the motto they stood for in the face of unimaginable danger.

Guo Ru allowed them to have their moment, watching with his face hidden, although his aim was to see if they will turn against each other, but the look in their eyes showed they had been through so much together and believed the words they shouted aloud for all to hear. A slight smile formed on the face of the older man, a part of him wished that they remained firm in their belief and stuck together, only fate could determine if they will remain true to their words to the very end. Calling back their attention to the pressing matter that laid ahead, Guo Ru resumed what he was saying.

"It's time to put on your acting skills to the fullest, the life of Miss Zhang depends on what you do outside the doors of this room. Let the nurse who isn't going to follow you know of what you've all signed up for, she will be waking up very soon, most likely after we've gone. She may wake up a little disoriented but she will be okay after taking a rest. Remember! Stick to the plan!"

Yang Lin looked at the faces in front of him, he could still see traces of fear in them, but for the most part they look the part of the professionals that they were, within him he hoped that the Zhang heiress would be able to pull through the upcoming upheaval ahead.

The doctor already told Guo Ru how long the medication was going to last, while pa.s.sing on the information to Yang Lin over the earpiece on his way to get the others from where he had them locked.

Walking to one of the cabinets, the scub nurse pulled out a long clean white sheet to place over the "dead" body of Zhang Mi, sole heiress of Zhang Corporation. It was only after her body was covered did it dawn on them what they had just done.

Unable to control the pent up emotion, the women in the room bursted into tears, while their male counterparts visibly struggled to keep their's in check. It is commonly thought that a man's tears should never be shown in public, since it is considered "unsightly" and "unmanly", but at the end of the day, are we not humans too? But that is the chains that a society blind to the needs of it's people had shackled men like Dr w.a.n.g and the rest from crying when in pain and if they had to, it must be away from the watchful eyes of the public.

"Why are you crying?! Didn't I warn you all not to cry? What are you still standing there for? Get moving!"

Yang Lin had always looked up to his mentor Guo Ru, he knew that what he demanded from the surgical team of Zhang Mi was only meant to keep her protected even in "death", but a part of him sided with the show of sorrow that they had towards the "deceased" heiress of Zhang Corporation. He watched as they wheeled out the "body" of the Zhang heiress outside where the people they were expecting would see her for themselves.
