Dream Star 792 Is This Wrong?

The sound of his rapid heartbeat.

Long fingernails and shortened hair, his entire body felt like it was on fire. He felt so hot that he was having a hard time breathing. Heavy pants escaped his lips, and he felt a scorching pain on his right eye. 

Haruka did not know how he arrived at the residential district so soon. But he rushed over to her place.

Haruka immediately slumped on that person's chest. 

Rikka looked at him with a complicated expression and sighed. "This is why I told you to come with me earlier. Why do you never listen to me?"

"Rikka.."

"Let's go inside." The girl quickly brought him into her home. The moment they got inside, he saw her injured finger. It was fresh blood.

"I got a cut when I was scrambling for my keys just now." She trailed off and extended her finger. "Do you want it--?"

Haruka did not waste time and started to drink the blood flowing from her finger. He licked and sucked the tender flesh repeatedly. 

Rikka bit her lip. "Haruka...if your wife finds out you've been drinking from me, wont she get mad?"

Lila will get mad if he drinks Rikkas blood? He never thought of it that way before but right now he had to drink this. If he does not drink then he would do something to harm Lila.

A few hours later 

From the very moment, he discovered that he was a hanyou. Haruka wanted nothing more than to end his life. A part of him was a monster, even though he looked human. It was something he could not accept. How is it possible for him to accept the lifestyle of such a filthy race?

A race that is attracted to blood that drinks from people despite having no fangs like vampires.

The bed continued to produce sounds of shaking, as Rikka squirmed about the more he drank from her.

Haruka wiped his mouth and looked at the woman on the bed covered in bite marks. "Sorry." He apologized.

Rikka shook her head. "Do you feel better?"

"Strangely, yeah."

Surprisingly her blood tastes okay for him to drink. When she first suggested it, Haruka was not sure. But after several times, he has learned to rely on her whenever he gets sudden urges. Haruka swallowed the tablets. She just pa.s.sed him and sighed. "Tastes bitter."

"Don't act childish for, you know you need them."

Indeed that is true. He ran his hands through his hair, he wanted to shower, but his gaze fell on the clock. 

I ought to go back soon; otherwise, she would start crying.

Even though he often teased her about her tears, Haruka disliked it whenever his wife cried. A woman's tears are like a direct punch to one's stomach; it has a strange impact.

Haruka blinked when he saw the message on his phone. Oh dear, it seems like he ought to leave immediately. She sent this message over two hours ago. He already knew what her reaction would be the moment he arrived.

"Are you leaving?" Rikka asked.

The girl was still fixing her clothes up, so he could see the marks he made. All over her neck, and different areas of her body. Indeed, if Lila found out he was drinking Rikkas blood like this, she would surely get mad. But the problem is, he can't stop it.

If he stops and goes after Lila instead, Haruka shook that thought out of his head. The blood of the one he loves will be the only thing to fulfill his thirst; he understood that better than anybody. But he will not do it.

Haruka extended his hand out and briefly hugged Rikka. "Just five minutes, right?"

"Yes."

This was what she asked for in return. Haruka felt a bit strange about it, but friends hugged, didn't they? He already saw how long Kiryu hugged Lila for. It all sounds like an excuse. Haruka knew he ought to stop this right now.

If he keeps giving her false hope, Haruka knew the girl would never give up on him. But unfortunately, he has never been in a position to reject somebody.

By the time he reached the house Sumire-san is staying in, it was already quite late. Who would have thought that Rikka would break out into a fever at the last minute? Naturally, he could not just leave. Haruka eventually arrived at the gate. He scanned the front of the house and spotted her immediately. 

He found her sat down at the bench in front of the large water fountain, but she was fast asleep. Sumire-san covered her in a blanket.

The older woman turned to him and laughed. "Fas.h.i.+onably late?"

Haruka sighed and walked over. He parted Lilas bangs from her face and kissed her forehead before he picked her up. Maybe she realized it was him, but she made herself comfortable in seconds.

He noticed how cold her skin was and frowned. How long did she wait out here for?

"Another woman's blood must be tempting since you are not used to it. But in the long run, I would advise against it." Sumire suddenly said.

"Is that the excuse you used when you drank from my father kept him as a subst.i.tute when your husband was in France?" Haruka sneered.

Who does she think she is giving him advice like that?

To his surprise, the woman did not reply right away. "I didn't have an excuse. I wish I did, maybe Yuhi wouldn't have been in pain, and the same went for Ren. But I had no excuse."

Haruka frowned when he heard those words. It would be better if she made some type of excuse up. But it seems like this woman won't do that. 

If only she could be a hateful person.

But Teras.h.i.+ma Sumire isn't like that. Lila resembles her mother a lot, and that's why he can't hate the woman even if he wants to.
