*Puff*

The air was displaced as the t.i.tans body dropped to the ground. I watched closely as the red engravings on its body dimmed. It took a few seconds before the red completely dissipated. As the red left its body the rocks that made up its form, that looked so st.u.r.dy, started to come apart.

In the next instance the once big body became a pile of rubble before me. It was the first time I had seen a monster die like this. I should have known that the red engravings of lava were important to the creature, but I didn't expect this.

The t.i.tan had to be born from some type of lava rock amalgamation. This of course explained it weak points, to disrupt the very thing that was keeping its body together, would be like taking out joints in a human body. We wouldn't be able to move, the pain would be unbearable.

Just the thought of something like that happening sent a small s.h.i.+ver down my spine and even though it made me feel slightly bad, about the pain I was putting these things through, I would exploit this weakness to the fullest extent.

This also drew up another point though, the environment that we are in. I knew that they would have an advantage being in their home turf, but judging by the composition of their body, if they were to come into contact with lava while weakened, would they heal?

My face turned grim for a second at the thought that would be the worst possible outcome, if that were the case I would have to draw all the t.i.tans away from the small lava streams and keep them at a distance so they couldn't regroup themselves.

If I was facing a group that kept healing themselves, possible even gaining back their energy, I would be in deep trouble. I might have to try and obstruct the lava that was flowing in the dungeon to fix such a situation.

I stared at the ruble for a few more seconds as I was deep in thought.

"You guys can come in now!"

Ella off to the side shouted out for the others to come over while I finally moved to the downed being. Rummaging around for a little while, once I scrambled over the pile of rocks, I found what I was looking for. The small glow of an exp globe lit up my face as I finally grabbed a hold of it.

It was such a ch.o.r.e to find these things, especially for a creature like this. I quickly crushed it to gain the exp, while the gear was sorted away. I gave my inventory a look over to make sure that I didn't pike up something special.

Some gear dropped but it wasn't better than anything we had already, I got some boots and pants, and would sell them to Hunter later. Looking up from that I quickly checked my amount of EP we gained. We had gotten a pitiful amount from killing the bandit a while back.

And when I say pitiful I meant that it was pitiful compared to the prices Hunter had set. I easily gained a few hundred thousand points from all the killing, but I hadn't broken the million mark yet. When the apocalypse first started that would be considered a treasure trove that I could live off for life, but after meeting Hunter I knew better.

Remembering what I had before and looking at the new total a small smile came to my lips. With the increase in level, the rewards always get better. The t.i.tan being level 36, it had actually dropped 70,000 EP. I was ecstatic! Depending on how big this dungeon was I would finally start to make a living, and I could finally get some skills!

All the ones Hunter was selling were in the millions, so maybe I would only get 1 or 2, but that would be good enough.

Done with that I also looked over at my exp. As I had noted before I would get around 10-20% of the total exp of the creature killed. As it was at level 36 I was expecting a huge haul. I was level 31 and I needed 2 billion just to level. 10-20% of that would be a whopping 200-400 million! And at level 36 I couldn't fathom how much it had gone up. It was really unsettling how much was needed these days to level; I couldn't imagine anyone making it to level 100 fast. But that was the goal I had to reach to face G.o.d, so I would get there.

But alas when I checked how much I had gained I only obtained, 332,000,000. I crunched the numbers in my head slightly and this couldn't be right. The number would be fine, if the t.i.tan was around my level, but it was 5 levels higher!

Seeing that my exp bar doubled nearly always when I was leveling, the amount it needed would be about 16 billion by level 36, I know it's a ridicules number, but that was the pattern so far. And then 10% of that, at a minimum, would be 1.6 billion.

So why the h.e.l.l did I only get about 4%? There was something going on here. Could I have been wrong about my observations? I was so sure that I obtain around 10% of the total exp of a creature, whether they are human, or monster.

I thought back to all my battles and tried to recall the exp that dropped and how I first came to that a.s.sumption. And now that I was thinking about it, the 300 bandits that we had killed recently also didn't add up.

I quickly thought of their average level, what the exp required was, got the 10% and then multiplied that by 300. I took a bit off because of the fact that Hunter did kill quite a few of the mages, but the numbers still didn't match up.

A frown had appeared on my face as I tried to figure out what was happening. Could we get less exp for killing people the higher our levels? That would be so stupid, if anything with the amount of exp required, it should be the other way around. We should be getting more exp for our kills the higher we get!

Though now thinking about the G.o.d that kicked this whole thing off, I could see that happening. I was about to start cursing that stupid fricking G.o.d in my head when another idea popped in.

Tuning around, I spotted Hunter close by. Having moved over with the kids, he was looking my way, waiting for me to trade for anything that dropped. The smile on his face told me how excited he was to start this dungeon.

I walked over slowly and decided to quickly give him the gear the dropped, for a good price of course. Having finished with that I just had to ask.

"Hey Hunter, I know you don't want me knowing you level and all that, but I would a.s.sume you're over level 30."

I said it as a statement rather than a question. The amount of combat experience and ability that he showed, told me that he could take care of himself in a fight and was easily at our level. Meaning that he was probably near level 40 or something close.

He showed a bit of a troubled face for a second as I mentioned his level. I had tried talking to him about it before but he wanted to keep it to himself, I respected that privacy.

After a few seconds he nodded his head slowly, wanting to see where I went with this. In the end he wasn't actually telling me his level; he was just confirming what I already knew, so that was what swayed him, in my opinion.

I nodded to myself before continuing.

"Do you remember how much exp you needed to get from level 30-31?"

I remember that I needed 1 billion exp exactly; I was really hoping I was wrong about my guess.

He showed a funny face for a few seconds and the serious look he had when I started talking to him disappeared. I guess he thought it would be an important subject.

"Haha, you ask the weirdest questions!"

He showed me a smile and shook his head in mock defeat.

"Yeah I remember I needed 480 million when I was at level 30. Why'd you ask?"

I felt my eye twitch for a second as I found it hard to keep a straight face. I felt my anger rising as I replied as calm as I could.

"Ohh no reason, it somehow slipped my mind."

He gave me a look as I turned away quickly, I couldn't keep my face straight.

"Yeah, you're a weird one, in a good way though."

Saying that, he gave me a pat on the shoulder, before he went to look at his stock. He wanted to get that done before we moved to the next area.

My eyes were spitting fire as I looked at the entrance to the next section of the dungeon.

I really wanted to break something right now.
