Hearing that someone is looking for Carlene, Louis and Caroline glance at each other. What will they have to tell her family? Anxious to meet who it is, Louis prepared himself.

Now the man entered the room, he looked rugged and face covered with a beard. "Good evening, Monsieur, madam, and officer," his greetings then stretched his right hand. "Edward Moore, Carlene's twin brother."

Dang. His heart sobbing. He would never dream that time comes to him: he and Madison become siblings. He prayed that even in their next life, she's still the one he will spend his whole life as his better half. If not, he rather grows old alone and waits for another life for him to meet Madison once again. Levi tilted his head to the side and focused on his act in front of Carlisle.

"Oh, Edward. Please accept my apologies." Louis takes Edward's hand and holds it both of his palms. "I am sorry if your sister got involved in this, but we won't stop looking for them," Louis apologized.

"Someone took her? Why? Did she offend someone?" Levi hardened his expression, making sure that he was using an Italian accent. Thanks to his mother's genes, the De La Rue bloodline of Italy, he could pull it off sweat less. He is very much worried about Madison and Marivella, that is why he must convince Carlisle to take him along to rescue them. "I will find her as well!" he exclaimed then about to leave.

"Mr. Moore, hold up." Carlisle halted Levi. "My soldier doing everything to get a lead where they possibly kept by whoever took them. So, please, let us handle everything."

"Captain Williams, is it? But I cannot just wait for might something happens to my sister!"

"I understood. I am also worried about the woman I love. I want to find them as soon as possible, but we must calm down. We have to act silently."

Wow. Carlisle shamelessly saying it aloud in front of Marivella's parents, but he is right. No wonder, Quinn also has these traits after he will reincarnate. He is vocal about his love toward Ca.s.sandra, also he always makes plans carefully firstly for a smooth operation. So he takes silence and pretends that he is in deep thought.

Not that long, they heard a horse neighing upon its arrival. Hastily, Carlisle runs outside and everyone followed him outside. Gene jumped from his horse and rushed toward his captain.

"Captain Williams," he bows. "Captain, someone saw a suspicious carriage headed north outside central Paris. I went to investigate. Confirmed Captain. There is two young miss tied inside that Villa."

Carlisle darkened his face. Whoever did this to Marivella, he will make sure to beat them up. "Who owns that Villa?" he asked, and there is anger in his tone he tried to suppress.

"It was a family villa belongs to the mayor's in-laws."

"He has in the position to give authorization by signing the arrest doc.u.ments to capture Marivella without suspicious in the monarchy," Louis thought.

"That is possible. I know he is scheming a lot, but that would end soon."

"Then let's go?" Levi is antsy to go right now.

"No. Please, let us handle this, Mr. Moore."

"But I want to save my sister," Levi insisted. He has to play well, which he truly desired to save the love of his life.

"I also want to go, Captain Williams. I won't be at peace if I didn't see my daughter right away!"

"I promised to save her, monsieur. I won't let anything happen to her," Carlisle affirmed. "And so, allow me to take care of this."

Louis takes a silence, then nodded afterward. "Please, make sure my daughter comes home in one piece."

"I promised— no. I will save her no matter what," he professed. "I will leave a few of my soldiers you watch your family from a distance. They will come if something happens."

"Thank you, Captain Williams."

Carlisle nodded. He then fixed his attention toward Levi, "Mr. Moore, I will let you ride my soldier's horse. But please, don't make a hasty decision act on your own. We have to do it quietly," he reminded Levi.

"I understood, Captain Williams," Levi replied. Smile playing on his mouth under the fake beard he is wearing.

Like what they have predicted, Carlisle will come and save Marivella. It was Quinn who pointed out to Gene which Villa the royal guards brought Madison and Marivella.

Wearing rugged farmer clothes, and applied dirt on his face; Quinn then sits on a rock on a side road. He saw a few soldiers and royal guards riding back and forth and it stunned him seeing Daichi's past life, Gene Isagawa.

He already pa.s.sed him earlier, now he rides back. Gene notices him. He ordered his horse to stop then brought the beast around. "Good evening, monsieur!" his greetings.

"Good evening, soldier. What I can offer to a diligent man like you?"

Gene did not expect the peasant man to praise him. He chuckles, blus.h.i.+ng a bit. "Ahem!" Gene clears his throat. "I am gathering information if someone saw a carriage escorted by royal guards goes outside the city. Have notice one, monsieur?"

"Hmm... It must be the carriage that headed north."

"Are you affirmative about that, monsieur?"

"Yes. I was on my way to the central town when I meet them on the road."

"Have you noticed where it stops or headed another direction, monsieur?" Gene asked furthermore.

"Hmm... They seem to take a turn to the left in that crossing." Quinn pointed a direction and Gene understood it.

"Thank you, Monsieur!" Gene bowed then made a slight kick to his horse. "Hah!"

Upon learning the whereabouts of Marivella and a girl name Carlene, Carlisle leads his men along with the man he met as Edward Moore. Speedily, they headed to the said Villa but before they reach the place; they stopped somewhere. He then first lay a plan on how to save the two women without making a lot of commotion.

"All right, am I understood?" he asked, studying the faces of his soldiers. "Remember, what we will do tonight could affect our job. I will take full responsibility, but I will allow anyone to leave for those who don't want to compromise your position in the future."

Carlisle doesn't want anyone to get involved, but he needs their help. He is grateful that his platoon is loyal to him, but their job is a must prioritize. "Listen carefully. This fight is more likely only my fight. However, I won't allow this kind of activity among people who have power against the oppressed. And so, I give you the choice to join me or go home."

Carlisle expected that a few of his soldiers would leave, but no one was moving. "Soldiers?"

"I will follow you, Captain!" said one of the youngest privates.

"If my sister was in this kind of situation, I will do everything to save her, Captain… and even if other women who become a victim of this ugly system of our country, I will still do it."

"Pardon me, Captain Williams. I know your family is powerful as the King and Queen of this country but the aristocracy is bulls.h.i.+t on treating us badly."

"There are a lot of oppressed citizens," expressed by someone. "This country is not alone, but every country in this world."

Everyone turned head at Levi's direction. "Oh. Don't mind me. It's just, my family been traveling towns and countries, often… and so, we've witnessed this mistreatment to the lowly people anywhere."

"He is correct, Captain. And so, we will follow you anywhere you go and whatever decision you made."

"Thank you, soldier… and for the words, Mr. Moore."

"Nah. No problem. I may in great debts to you later, Captain Williams."

"Carlisle!" 

"Charles? What are you doing here?" he asked the doctor. 

Quickly, Charles jumps from his horse. "Someone told me about what happened. Immediately, I went to Chen Residence and Monsieur Chen told me about your plans. I pleaded to him to tell me where you headed. So, what is your plan?"

Carlisle has to decide whether he has to involve Doctor Charles with this, and so he asks him to a.s.sure…"Are you sure about this, Charles?"

"I want to know if Carlene is fine," his reply.

Surprised, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Do you know her?" He was astounded that Charles showing interest to someone. Now he is interested to meet this girl.

Charles rolled his eyes and ignored his question but change the topic. "Now tell me what is your plan."

Carlisle shaking head, "Okay, then…"
