Suddenly little faces popped out. "Ahhhh! So freaking cute!" Ariana squealed as round, tiny faces with b.u.t.ton shaped eyes stared up at her. They looked like chubby little toddlers with pudgy arms and root like toes and fingers. They each had long stems on top of their heads with three giant leaves and one ma.s.sive flower at the end. "So you have an earth familiar that can multiply?" Ariana asked as she slowly put up the palm of her hand for the tiny chibi root children to walk on to. 

"Unfortunately yes." Lobo sneered. "Why are you upset? I mean, you were able to utilize them to avoid Duko's detection." Ariana said as she patiently waited. The familiars stretched out their root fingers and started to test out Ariana's palm. Ariana tried her best to keep in a giggle but the roots were so soft and gentle it was hard to stop herself. "I'm a part of the grey wolf clan, I can not have an earth familiar as my partner. It is disgraceful." Lobo said with disdain filled eyes.

"You're joking!" Ariana laughed. "Oh my goodness you are not joking." Ariana said in a high pitched voice but when she saw how serious Lobo's face was he knew he wasn't lying.

"Why?! Duko, my Duko is a beautiful earth wolf. He is one an important ally on my team. I would think it would be a wonderful blessing to partnered with an earth familiar. You have an all rounded familiar, you have defense, you have offense and even stealth! How can an earth familiar be so bad?!" Ariana ranted but Lobo still looked unimpressed. "When you asked me what element I was using, I, I was put on the edge. My entire clan is a mixture of wind or dark familiars. There is a rare fire but never earth. I disgraced my family the day I got my familiar." Lobo explained.

"So I touched a nerve?" Ariana asked. "You touched a nerve." Lobo replied with a nod of his head. 

Lobo's familiar started to crawl onto Ariana's palm and she could barely contain her happiness. "So when I saw your Duko I lost my temper and used any excuse to attack you." Lobo said shocking Ariana. "Why?! What if Duko couldn't make it to me in time?!" Ariana shouted, scaring the chibi root familiars. "Ahh! Sorry sweet babies, I didn't mean to scare you. See happy! No more mad." Ariana said as she tried to coax the familiars on to her palm as she used the other hand to point to her smile. The familiars looked at her and smiled back. They all quickly climbed onto her palm and jumped on to her lap.

Ariana was glowing with delight, she had about a dozen chibi root children on her body. Some stayed on her palm, some hung from her arm other sat on her shoulders and the rest on her lap. The younger familiars must have had better sense then the older ones. They weren't as afraid of her and were open to accept her. "I'm sorry I wasn't thinking." Lobo said gently after some time. "My temper blinded me." Ariana looked at Lobo and gave him a soft smile. "It's fine I got to meet these cuties!" Suddenly Lobo was flung into the air. "What the h.e.l.l?!" Lobo shouted as he landed in the middle of the lake. Stag Vasu had stepped beside Ariana as he looked at his handiwork. 'b.a.s.t.a.r.d deserved it.' Vasu said as he snorted hot air. "Vasu, I love you don't ever change." Ariana said as she quickly got over the shock. Vasu nodded his head elegantly before changing back into his chibi form. 

Lobo's head popped out of the lake and he looked completely confused. He was no longer in his grey wolf form but his human form. His earth familiars started to jump up and down in joy as the watched their master appear from the water. "That was completely uncalled for!" Lobo yelled from the top of his lungs. "No it wasn't." Ariana said to Vasu with a wide grin then turned to Lobo and waved happily. 

Lobo splashed the water with his fists and looked around. He was dead center. He had to swim back but he didn't want to waste anymore energy changing back into his grey wolf form. He was better of swimming to sh.o.r.e and conserving energy to walk back. With a heavy sigh he picked his direction and swam back. "Vasu, I don't think we thought this through." Ariana said as she turned to Vasu. Lobo's familiars were happily cheering their master on as he swam. 

Vasu looked at Ariana with a bored expression. "He hasn't changed into a wolf so I'm thinking human form is his default form." Ariana explained but Vasu just kept staring. "Vasu, he's naked." Ariana said bluntly. Vasu blinked a few times then clicked his tongue. Vasu floated towards Lobo just as he reached sh.o.r.e. Lobo stood up and Vasu acted as his sensor. "I'm cold." Lobo said as he hugged himself. He was dripping wet and very naked. Ariana quickly averted her eyes as she blushed slightly. "Sorry. Vasu didn't think it through." Ariana said awkwardly.

"We should go to the Dabneys so you can get some clothes." She continued just as Lobo sneezed. "And some medicine." She sighed. "Are they close?" Lobo said as he started to s.h.i.+ver. "Um, I think so?" Ariana asked as she looked around. "How can you not tell?!" Lobo shouted before he sneezed again. "You've been watching me! Shouldn't you know?!" Ariana shouted back. "We've been taking turns! I usually do the night s.h.i.+ft but Icarus wanted to be with his family today so we switched! I got my s.h.i.+ft when you started your show at the entrance!" Lobo shouted as he paniced while poor Vasu was floating around Lobo's private area, acting as his sensor.
