My Way To You 312 Underground Canyon

Thor and Edlyn had found an underground canyon inside the carvens. The water was a bright shade of aqua, it's seemed so clean and pure, it was absolutely beautiful. The canyon was in a deep cavity in the center of the cavern. It was surrounded by stone walls and paths in tan and earthy tones. It had the same dark ceiling like the rest of the cavern and there was enough s.p.a.ce for Thor to move around. 

She had heard rumors that Vola's familiar was one that could fight on land and water. Not many people had seen it's true form but she knew she coudn't leave anything to chance. "Thor can you fly me to that ledge over there?" Edlyn asked as she pointed down to spot that was closest to the water. 'Sure.' Thor answred happily as he flapped his wings.

He flew downwards and used his back two wings to keep him elevated as he used his left front wing to act as a slide for Edlyn. She slid down the wing and landed on the edge. She then dropped to her knees and took a closer look at the water. She plaed her hand just above the surface and took a deep breath in. "Kakano Brath." She chanted. She opened her eyes and sighed. "It's safe. I'm going to dive in."

Thor looked at the water and his eyes sparkled. 'Can I swim too?' Thor asked. "I don't see why not? Why don't you test out the water first and see if you like it. If you think you can dive under I will cast an air bubble spell so you don't have to worry about breathing underwater." Edlyn said with a small smile. Thor stopped flapping his wings and instantly ploped into the water with a huge splash.

Thor started to laugh as he splashed around. "I guess you've never been shy about the water since you're a Thuderbird." Edlyn laughed. 'I love the water!' Thor shouted as a small blush entered his cheeks. "Then why did you grumble when you slipped into the water pools?" Edlyn asked before she jumped into the water. 'I was too big. It's no fun to just get my feet wet.' Thor pouted.

Edlyn laughed. Soon her black, ballet flats stared to change in the water. They stretched out and flattened. She was now wearing flippers. Edlyn then looked at the elongated canister, there was an wall in the shape of a rectangle but the corners were rounded. 'You have to put your mouth over that.' Thor said as he started to swim up to Edlyn.

"How do you know?" Edlyn asked curiously. 'Not sure, it's like a voice in my head told me. It said you can breathe with that when your underwater. I don't know, it could be a lie from a bad person. Don't worry I can save you if it's a lie, so try it. If it doesn't work we can share my air bubble and swim together! See a win-win.' Thor said happiy. Edlyn looked at the canister then Thor. "I'm in your claws then." She giggled.

Edlyn inserted the mouth piece and tested it out by putting only her face into the water. Moments later Edlyn lifted her face. "It works." Edlyn told Thor with a surprised look. 'Awe I wanted to swim with you.' Thor pouted. "You still can though." Edlyn said. 'Not the same.' Thor grumbled. "Kaʻai kupula." Edlyn chanted before they dove under the water.

Edlyn was amazed. It was another world under the water. Rocks of all different sizes and shapes were glowing a soft sky blue. The water was clear, bright and refres.h.i.+ng. Edlyn felt at peace as Thor swam acrobatics in the water. However there was no life anywhere. No fish, no crustaceans, no amphibians, no lizards or bugs, just nothing, it made the world seem eriee and unnatural. Thor and Edlyn swam around for a while and soon spotted what looked like an archway. 

It was a ma.s.sive archway that signalled the opening to a tunnel. It seemed big enough for Thor to swim through but Edlyn wasn't sure if the size would be consistant throughout. She turned to Thor and pointed upwards. They swam upwards and broke through the surface. "Do you think you can follow me from above? I want to see where this tunnel leads too." Edlyn asked. Thor nodded his head and flew upwards.

Edlyn dove back down and swam into the tunnel. Edlyn swam catiously, she wasn't sure what to expect. After swimming a bit further, Edlyn found a fork in the tunnel, it spit into 4 smaller tunnels. Edlyn swan a little closer and felt a small tug to the right. She looked left to right, there were no markers and no other tugging feelings. So she thought she would try her luck. Edlyn closed her eyes and started to focus her energy. She tried her best to cast an incantation but nothing appeared.

Edlyn roled her eyes. She pulled out the canister and tried to say the incantation in the water. Water bubbles came out of her mouth but no sound. Edlyn put the canister back into her mouth. She tried swimming towards the middle right tunnel instead. She really wanted to see where the strong current was going to take her but it wasn't safe without protection. Suddenly the current s.h.i.+ft and switched from the far right to the right, center. Edlyn panicked as shse tried to swim away but soon she was swallowed up.

'Mom?!' Thor called out as he raced though the cavern. "I'm okay." Edyn called in a strained, calm voice as not to scare Thor. She was speeding down the smaller tunnel as the current tossed her around like a spinning ball. Edlyn thought she was going to be sick as she death gripped the canister with her teeth. Moments later Edlyn was tossed out of the water and sent flying into the air. 'I got you mom.' Thor shouted as he swooped in and caught Edlyn.

"W-where are w-we?' Edlyn asked as her eyes spun. 'Back at the entrance.' Thor replied as he gently placed Edlyn on th rock path. Edlyn turned to her side and threw up. 'Mom are you okay?' Thor asked with a concerned voice. "Yes, ugh." Edlyn said as she slowly got off the ground. "I got a plan." Edlyn said as she stood up.
