Rain raised an eyebrow and gave Ariana a side glance. "Why would you volunteer someone else to answer a simple question?" Rain asked and Halina kept smiling. "She missed the first part of the cla.s.s and only heard your example. She made a poor choice earlier but I don't think she did it out of disrespect. Give her a chance and see if she can blow you away. I bet you anything she can give you your answer and probably even teach you something." Halina said confidently. Rain started to stroke his chin as he thought about Halina's words. "What if she gets them wrong?" Rain asked as he brought his hand back down Halina puffed out her chest and pointed her nose in to the air. "I'll share her punishment with her." Rain looked at Breeze and he stopped the whirlwind. Ariana wasn't prepared for the landing and fell with a heavy thud. She shot a tearful, cold glare at Breeze who in turn averted his gaze.
"Well Ms. Drake will you let your friend down?" Rain said as he held out a black marker. Ariana got up and rubbed her rump as she walked towards Rain. "I won't let her down." She said as she s.n.a.t.c.hed up the marker and walked towards the white board. "All magic comes from an ancient language that has been pa.s.sed down through generations. What most people don't know is that it's not the same language is used when chanting. There are different components to every incantations uniquely giving magic to each word. Though each word belongs to a different language they correspond fluidly with the next making the distinction almost impossible." She said before she uncapped the marker.
"So we take that thought and separate the incantations accordingly. Elements are fire, 'ahi', then water, 'wai'. Next is earth, 'honua' and finally wind which is 'makani'. This makes up the four basic powers but as we all know it does not stop there, we also have the dark element, 'pouli' and the light elements, 'kukui' which are rare branches of the elements. Once you know the elemental names you can then attached it to your offense or defence. Your basic offenses can be sword, javelin, spiked knuckles, mace, axe or bow and arrow. Which are claíomh, gaill, claveteado spíceacha, Ní, bogha agus saighead . While your basic defences are s.h.i.+eld, wall, barrier, and armour. So it would be Ezkutua, horma, hesia and armadura. Carefully selecte your offense or defence, do not mix these words together you will end up with nothing, in theory at least. However you can intensify the magic by adding adjectives to either offense or defence by using one more dead language."
"Alright Ms. Drake you're starting to touch a topic that will not be covered until you third year. Now please take a seat. You have talked circles around me but you will need to see me after cla.s.s for your punishment." Rain said as he held out his hand for the marker. Ariana carefully capped the marker and handed it back to Rain. She then did a quick curtsy and grabbed the seat beside Edlyn. "Well I was going to go through this lesson slowly but Ms. Drake had already given you the answers. You may all leave cla.s.s early today." He said and the students started to cheer. "However I will give you some homework." Rain announced causing the student to groan."Review Chapters 1-3 for tomorrow and build up your bond with your familiars. It will be needed. Dismissed."
Everyone started packing while Ariana waited patiently for everyone to clear out. "See you in Mr. Dabney's cla.s.s." Ariana said as she gave her friends a tiny wave. Edlyn had already tried to protest against the decision that Ariana was to bare the full responsibility of their tardiness but thanks to Talisha she was properly escorted out of the room. Ariana sat in her seat, staring at Rain until he sighed and walked up to her. "Have you read the school handbook yet?" He asked and Ariana shook her head. "Hadn't given it time."
Rain waved his hand in the air and a small book materialized on her desk. "Read it now. That will be your punishment." Ariana picked up the book and opened it to the first page. "What were you doing talking about something so important out in the open like that." Rain asked as he started to clean up the whiteboard. Ariana sighed as she flipped to the next page. "Goutam Waldemar... he said some things that made me irrational.... I just needed to sort myself out before coming to your cla.s.s."

"So you talked about your mother?" Rain asked. Ariana kept reading the handbook not wanting to answer his question. "Princess, don't be like that... I'm sorry I was so harsh with you but we couldn't let you off easy. Your cla.s.smates know your rank and your a first years representative. The pressure for you to be a model student is great. So how about we kiss and make up." Breeze said as he moved in closer towards Ariana. "So flipping up my dress was the best option? I was properly mortified thank you very much. I was practically turned into an exhibitionist because of your thoughtlessness." She replied coolly.
"If your dress wasn't so short it wouldn't have been so bad." Breeze pouted. Ariana froze mid page, she paled as she brought her gaze from the handbook to Breeze. "I'm sorry?" She asked pitifully. Breeze shrugged his shoulders as he sat down beside her. "If you didn't want the attention then why alter your uniform? I know it's not in the rules or anything but come on! Your kinda asking for someone to make advances towards you.... oh sh*t!" Breeze said as his c.o.c.ky smiling face turned into worry. Ariana sat there staring at Breeze, tears started to spill down her cheeks, her eyes were wide with fear and her lips trembled.
"Right... it's my own fault... ha haha. I'm sorry Professor Rain. I can't stay, can I come back later to finish my punishment?" She said as she turned to Rain. "Ariana? Are you okay?" He asked awkwardly but Ariana gave him a strained smile as she got up. "Princess, hey I'm sorry I took my joke to far." Breeze said as he reached out and grabbed Ariana's wrist. "NO! Don't touch me!" She shrieked as she jerked her arm back. "Hey that's dangerous!" Breeze shouted and they both toppled over onto the floor. Ariana paled even further as she looked up at Breeze's face. "No! Please someone help me! No!" She cried at the top her lungs.
Breeze scrambled to get off of Ariana but she just balled herself up into a fetal position. Rain rushed over and looked down, he had no idea what to do. "Mrs. Dabney! Go get Mrs. Dabney!" He shouted in a panic to Breeze. Breeze turned into a gust of wind and rushed out of the room. It wasn't long before Breeze came back carrying Mrs. Dabney. "What happened?" She asked as Breeze gently put her down. "I don't know." Rain said as he looked at Mrs. Dabney, completely fl.u.s.tered.
Mrs. Dabney waddled closer and saw Ariana crying pitifully as she stayed curdled up. "Oh no. How did this happen?" She asked. Breeze stepped forward and told her everything. "You piece of sh*t!" She shouted as she slapped Breeze across the face. "And you! Should discipline your familiar more!" She hissed as she turned to Rain. "Mrs. Dabney?" Ariana called out in a hoa.r.s.e voice. "Oh my goodness sweetheart... come on up. You'll be okay, come on." Mrs. Dabney cooed trying her best to coax Ariana off the floor.
"Will the pain ever go away?" Ariana asked causing everyone to be completely dumbstruck. "What pain?" Rain asked and Mrs. Dabney turned to Rain mouthing the word no. Ariana slowly got off the ground and dusted herself off. "I'm fine now. Sorry to worry you." She said with a small bow, making sure her face was shrouded in darkness. "I will be on my way." The Lumas formed a wall in front of Ariana and stopped her from taking another step. 'Mast-uhm... Ariana you need to talk to someone." Aroha said as the other Lumas agreed. Ariana stayed silent and tried to go down the stairs but was stopped again. 'You can't live like this.' Loralei cried.
"Let me go." Ariana mumbled. 'You can not be afraid of the male population forever! Toughen up and fight your enemies head on! Become strong! Become proud! Become glorious!' Rahul shouted but Ariana stayed silent. "Hey princess... what are they talking about?" Breeze asked as he stretched out his hand to place on her shoulder. "No!" She shouted and stumbled backwards. Rain quickly caught her before she fell but Ariana paled. "No!" She shouted as she pushed Rain away. "No... don't touch me." She whimpered.
'Ariana was almost r*ped.' Vasu told Breeze. Ariana's eyes grew wide as she looked up at Vasu. "No! How could you!" She shouted at Vasu and turned to Breeze. "Don't say it!" She shouted. The energy around Breeze started to turn malicious, sparks were starting to fly as his eyes turned dark and murderous. "Who?!" He shouted. Ariana shook her head no. "Don't say it, please." She pleaded but Breeze could not calm his rage. "You better f*cking tell me who almost r*ped you or I will bring my wrath to the entire male population at this Academy!"
"Breeze stop it! You're not making this any better." Mrs. Dabney said as she walked over to Ariana and sat down. She quickly wrapped her arms around the girl and stroked her hair. "Let it all out, you're safe here." She murmured causing the flood gates to open. "I still feel his hands on me! His lips touched my skin! He hurt me! He hurt me so much so I would scream but I didn't given in.... I hate it so much! If Cayden didn't try to erase the feeling I would have taken my own life then live always feeling like his hands were on me!" She cried. "It's my fault! If I didn't wear my hair up or wore something under my robe or just looked ugly maybe I would have been left alone!"
Breeze instantly deflated. He looked and felt so guilty that he couldn't even stand anymore. He slumped down and sat on one of the steps with his hands covering his face. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He said pitifully. "I didn't know... I can't take back what I did or said. Ariana I'm sorry."
"Sweetie can you tell me who did it?" Mrs. Dabney asked softly but Ariana shook her head. "It won't matter, he's untouchable." She sniffed. "Cayden beat him senseless and it landed him in detention.... I'm also pretty sure the Headmaster knows but he won't do anything. Instead he wants me to be his wife." Breeze shot up from the floor and ran out the room. "I... think you might be right but that doesn't mean you have to live in fear because of him. That just mean he's won if you do. We are living in an era where the males don't necessarily see females as their equals. It's slowly changing but it'll be a hundred years before it is considered normal that women are stronger then them." Mrs. Dabney said with a heavy sigh.
"Look, I know this will be hard and you will need to overcome this with a lot of determination but you can't shut down like this. If you don't change, if you don't become stronger then your fear, you will be given no choice but to accept the proposal to that jerk and then what? Believe me, dying because of what a man did is not an option. It is a stupid option. You don't see the hurt left behind. Your friends, family and people who admire you will all be devastated. They will be just as lost as you are and maybe some will want to follow you." Ariana looked up at Mrs. Dabney and nodded her head. "Okay.... what should I do?" Then suddenly Cayden came running into the room. His face dripping with sweat as he scanned the room.
When he saw her he cautiously walked down the step towards her. Stopping only a foot away, he squatted down and stretched out his hand. "You okay?" Ariana looked up at Cayden's hand then moved her gaze to his face. Her heart started to thump rapidly as she looked at his worried face. "I think I'm starting to feel okay." She said softly. Cayden pulled back his hand and sat down with a sigh of relief. "What happened to Breeze?" Rain asked and Cayden gave Rain a dark look. "I beat him senseless."
"...."
"...."
".... pfft." Ariana tried to m.u.f.fle her laugh. "Of course you would." She said as a small smile spread across her face. "No one touches you or else." Cayden said with serious face. Ariana laughed harder. Mrs. Dabney slowly released Ariana from her embrace and with Rain's help got up. She then looked at Rain and put her index finger over her lips before they continued to watch. "Are you not worried about being punished?" Ariana said as she put her hand into her blazer's pocket and pulled out a cherry blossom pattern handkerchief.
Cayden flashed a smile and scooted down a step and sat beside Ariana. "No." He answered truthfully. "Well I am." She said as she started to gently blot his face with her handkerchief. "I will be careful." He whispered as he carefully watched her facial expressions. Ariana met his gaze and started to blush. "I don't think you fighting my battles is going to help me get over my fear... I need to get stronger." She said as she pulled back her hand but Cayden caught it mid air. "I want to protect you even if you become strong enough."
"Cayden I... I... really... love... you." She said and Cayden started to lean in closer. "Mmmh." He whispered as he gently grabbed her chin. "Master! I was completely beaten senseless!" Breeze shouted as he stomped into the room. Cayden and Ariana were brought back to reality and started to blush as they turned their heads away.
Cayden stood up and realized that Rain and Mrs. Dabney were still in the room, watching them. Mrs. Dabney looked positively giddy while Rain seemed to be making mental notes. "What's going on?" Breeze asked as he eyed the two. "Professor Rain, I am willing to take any punishment for beating your familiar." Cayden said as he bowed to Rain.
"It's fine. Please do not worry about it." Rain said as he waved a dismissive hand in the air. "Thank you sir!" Cayden shouted then raised his head. A murderous flash went through his eyes as he stared at Rain. "I will not be so easy on him or anyone else if this were ever to happen again." Cayden said in a low, threatening voice.
Rain could feel gooseb.u.mps run down his whole body while Mrs. Dabney tried to stifle a giggle. "That's enough now. I'm pretty sure Rain and Breeze learned a very valuable lesson. Now Cayden could you please escort Ariana to her next cla.s.s?" She said sweetly. Cayden nodded his head and stretched out his hand to Ariana. "Let's go."
"Wait... Ariana talk to my husband. I think he can help you overcome your fears. Honestly the more you talk about it, the more you face the situation and know the fact that it was not your fault the braver you feel but only if you talk about it. If it's spread by others it could have the opposite affect and I don't want you to ever think that we would ever say anything to anyone without your permission." Mrs. Dabney said. Ariana gave her a soft smile and nodded her head. "I think I will... I mean I have to see the b.a.s.t.a.r.d when the representative are called and I... I don't want him to have any power over me. Never again." She said as she squeezed Cayden's hand. "Good. Now go on before you're late."
Ariana was ready to go but Cayden held her back. "Cayden?" She said but he looked positively determined that he would not budge. "Mrs. Dabney, Professor Rain... Breeze. What you saw and heard between me and Ariana... could you please stay silent." Mrs. Dabney looked confused as did Rain. "Why? Don't you think hiding you relations.h.i.+p will hurt Ariana more?" She asked but Cayden shook his head.
"If you can't man up and claim Ariana, then I would be more then willing to step in." Breeze said as he took a step forward. "Don't you dare touch her!" Cayden shouted as he stepped in front of Ariana. "I need some time to sort some things out before I can publically... I... want to... Look I can't put her in a worse position! I need to make things right before anything else can happen! I can't be so selfish, I know I shouldn't be anymore selfish than I already am but I can't leave her alone... I am also still engaged to Ms. Brenton and I don't want anyone to label her something she is not. So I need to act like I have always been acting..."
"Cayden, you've already broken character... were their people around when you beat up Breeze?" Mrs. Dabney asked. "I-I-I..." Cayden stuttered but Breeze shook his head. "I pulled him aside and made sure no one was around." Breeze answered. "So are you supposed to ignore Ariana when ever you see her? Try not come to her rescue? Hurt her more then what I'm a.s.suming your brother did?" Rain said and Cayden snapped. "That's b.a.s.t.a.r.d is not my brother!" Ariana tugged at Cayden's sleeve, calling his attention. "It's okay. Whatever you do I will always believe in you." Cayden couldn't restrain himself and pulled Ariana close and kissed her. "I'm sorry... I need to break off the engagement first. So please wait, I won't ignore you."
