In the next few days Xing went to the library at nights and the rumours about the Ghost of Empress Shu got more wide spread and made Xing pouty.

How dare they call me a ghost!

But Xing went and tried to find out more about the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor but everything she found was about his achievements in war or the economic reforms he did after he stopped being a Warlord. The nation was in a pitiful state after his war campaign for ten years and these economic reforms brought the country back on it's feet.

It's all good and informative but Who writes his journals about how to save a nation from economic crisis? Xing sighed.

Xing knew the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor was a Warlord who repented his ways after falling in love with Empress Shu and later saved the nation from the crisis he brought on them by his wars.

But before all that it is a well known fact that the fourteen year old him ma.s.sacred everyone in the inner palace, male, female and eunuchs and some officials too. Xing never could understand why he did that two years after his mother died, suddenly.

Xing tried to find more journals about the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor to find why he did what he did or the romantic details about his love with his wife but she could not find them.

Xing was disheartened,but her mood got better when she suddenly remembered that this guy liked to hide stuff in the rafters like her and she then started searching the rafters and as expected there was a journal hidden there.

Xing sat and read about it and it was what she wanted, the childhood life of the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor.

His mother was an ordinary orphan from the Fanzhou Village - The village Xing lived before. His mother was a stunning beauty and the then Emperor, that is the father of Tians.h.i.+ Emperor found her one day and took her to the inner palace of the Imperial Palace which was in Caijing back then. She was a heaven defying beauty but was later called 'the beauty who caused the fall of a nation'.

That Emperor loved her so much and pampered her too much inciting the jealousy of other women in the harem. That Emperor even neglected his duty as the Emperor and stayed with his beloved Consort the whole time. His love didn't decrease even after the birth of Tians.h.i.+ Emperor and the court was not pleased with his behaviour.

Tians.h.i.+ Emperor even as a child, knew and mingled with many G.o.ds in the mountains and was the favourite of the G.o.d of Wind who pampered him silly. His father didn't have eyes for anyone else or anything else but his mother. He even neglected all his children except the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor because he looked exactly like his mother. His entire childhood was perfect with everyone pampering him.

Time pa.s.sed by and the uncaring Emperor lost most of his territories to his enemies and the people were suffering and he didn't even know what was happening in his court.

When the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor was twelve he sneaked in to see his mother one night who was nine months pregnant and his mother sensed danger somehow and asked him to hide and he hid in the rafters as he usually did.

That was a terrible night that changed the life of the young Tians.h.i.+ Emperor. As he was watching, he saw a bunch of dark clothed people holding weapons standing in front of his mother. He wanted to get down to help his mother but his mother had made him promise to not get down no matter what happened.

That twelve war old boy witnessed the cruel way his mother was killed and those a.s.sa.s.sins seeing her big belly that moved a bit even after she was dead, pulled out the twin siblings out from her belly and killed those siblings.

Before he could register what was happening to his mother and his siblings, he was spotted by them but he was saved by the G.o.d of Wind on time and he was brought to the Wind G.o.d's Palace.

Xing who was reading upto this point felt a chill run down through her spine. Watching your mother die is an excruciatingly painful thing, Xing knew it as she had first hand experience in this. But watching your mother getting killed and then your siblings to be mutilated in front of you, must be terrible beyond words for a twelve year old who till then hadn't known of any sufferings.

No wonder he became a blood thirsty monster later!

Xing took some time to compose herself and then continued. After that incident, the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor got taken to the palace of the G.o.d of Wind and only then he learned to use a sword.

He learned that the Duan family had collaborated with the Tengu race of demons to kill his mother who is distracting the Emperor and everyone else in the inner palace had received a charm to keep themselves safe when the demons attacked but no one informed their mother of their plans.

The Emperor died soon after he learned of the death of his favourite woman and one of the princes were made the Emperor.

So after two years of training, in his attempt of revenge , the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor used the sword techniques he had learned, to kill everyone in the inner palace who had watched his mother die terribly. He then killed everyone in the Duan family and made himself the Emperor when he was fourteen. Since they condemned his mother for ruining the nation, he made a war expedition and captured every land his father lost and some more.

This journal contained details only up till then and Xing could not find anymore journals too.

So Xing could understand why the Tians.h.i.+ Emperor had become a Warlord and also the reason for his change of the capital city from Caijing to here.

The demons tried to influence the court by trying to help the Duan family but lost. So to stop the further interference of the demons in the human court, he changed the capital.

But it seemed like the entire power he attained was because of the G.o.ds. So why did he try to keep the G.o.ds away from the palace? Did they try to take control of him ?

But why did he put the spell to keep only the G.o.ds away and not the demons?

Xing had more questions than answers regarding this issue.

But one thing she was sure of was that this Tians.h.i.+ Emperor has some connections to her and may be that's why the G.o.ds need her!
