Off to the sides, were seating areas with tables and chairs placed in cl.u.s.ters and many men could be seen enjoying food and wine while talking to each other. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
In the centre of the hall was a raised platform akin to a stage on which a few musicians we're playing instruments while some other ladies danced to the tune.
Their dance moves were akin to b.u.t.terflies fluttering from one flower to another - the movements so light and being able to whet and arouse the appet.i.tes of all the customers in the room.
A bit further away was a staircase that led to a row of rooms that were visible from the entrance of the establishment itself.
It could be inferred that they were the private rooms and they seemed to be divided into two types - the ones on the right had their doors tightly shut with sentry guards or servants staying outside the doors as if trying to guard their masters. It was clear that these rooms were rented for pleasure.
The other rooms had occupants and servants going in and out with food and wine. These rooms must be used to conduct business.
Before they could do more than take a few steps inside, the proprietress of the 'Drunken Flower' noticed the fresh mean that had entered her establishment.
Her face lit up in smiles as she walked towards them. Her lips stretched to the maximum, her eyes squinted into slits and the corner of her eyes wrinkled.
The smile looked exactly like a big bad wolf trying to lure an unsuspecting girl into his lair.
When she saw how beautiful the four of them looked and that only one of them had a guarded look on his face while looking around the place.
Their supple skin and glowing eyes added an allure which was even absent in the best girls she could provide for the gentlemen who frequented her place.
These were pampered young masters who were new to the Imperial Capital because otherwise, she would have some gossip about such beauties.
She couldn't help but think, how wonderful it would have been if the dynasty's rules allowed for male catamites openly.
In such a situation, she could have simply used fair or foul means to make sure the quartet wouldn't leave her building once they had stepped a foot inside.
While her mind was whirring with ideas, her face was wreathed in smiles, "Aiya! Welcome, welcome, Young Masters. It is an honour to have you grave my humble establishment with your presence."
When she looked at the lily white skin of the youngest two members of the group and the muscled arms of the other two, she couldn't help but want to get a feel of that tender skin which looked like it had been taken care of diligently since birth.
She wanted to see if the middle one who shone like a beacon of light in his white-coloured robes had the softest of skins that could squeeze water at a mere touch.
She slyly raised her hands to have a feel of that skin but before her hands could reach their intended target, they were held in a bruising, vice-like grip by the dour-faced fourth man who had been looking around at the windows and exits of her place as the quartet had entered.
She realised that the man didn't seem to be a soft kitty who could be death easily.
So, she changed her intended target and smiled at him, while asking, "Aiya! This young master. What is the hurry? You can have more beautiful women than me to enjoy. Don't touch me w.i.l.l.y-nilly and that too without payment."
The Head Commander couldn't stop his brows for furrowing when he heard the casual remarks by the lady. He wanted to scold her for daring to touch the Son of Heaven but before he could open his mouth, his waist was pinched by Zhou Sheng.
When he looked at him, the other person minutely shook his head to stop him from spewing the words bubbling in his heart and stepped forward.
He lightly stepped between the Head Commander and the proprietress and softly remarked, "We are new in the Capital and heard that we could find the best food and wine in your place. So, we came to visit the place."
Even though everyone knew that it was a bald-faced lie, n.o.body pointed it out and the lady in question also felt happy to hear the praises of her lifelong work.
She gave her well-practised smile and demurred, "This, Young Master is simply raising too much, I don't dare to accept it. But I can a.s.sure you that if I call myself second, n.o.body in the business would dare call themselves first in this city."
Zhou Sheng then expertly led the topic in the direction he wanted, "We would like to enjoy ourselves tonight. What would you suggest?"
The lady laughed coquettishly and replied, "Enjoy. Well, you can find all kinds of enjoyment in my place."
With a lilting tone to her words, she asked further, "What kind of enjoyment is the Young Masters looking for?"
"The first would be good food and wine and then we can think about the rest later."
"Shall I send some of the girls?"
Zhou Sheng wanted to refuse on principle alone but Su Li piped up, "Yes, yes, send the girls but only the best ones. We won't accept anything less than the best."
The smile on the proprietress's face became even more apparent as she readily agreed.
However, before she could lead them to the rooms upstairs, the four of them declined the invitation citing the reason that since they were new to the Imperial Capital, they wanted to watch the hub-hub and enjoy the atmosphere that was so different from their native place.
So, she led them to a table that was off to the side but then the one dressed in a red robe piped up, "I think we should better sit in the corner. That way we can see everything and enjoy ourselves to the fullest."
At his words, she stopped in her tracks thinking that things might not be what they seem and these people might have some ulterior motives for coming to her place.
But then she noticed the gaze of t4h middle one that roamed about the room and it's occupants in fascination and chided herself for disgusting everyone on principle alone.
Moreover, if they dared to cause troubles at her place, she herself wasn't without backing from powerful people.
By then, their families wouldn't even be able to find their bones.
