Some time after, Central Alina, the Albarez' main mansion. 8:23 pm.

Dinnertime had already past therefore the people of the residence were surprised to see a familiar young man marching into the place. As if he just came out of his office, he was still wearing a white dress s.h.i.+rt, black pants which fitted nicely to his thighs but hang loosely on the legs except on the calves, and black dress shoes slightly pointed at the tip. The illumination behind him was a bit dim, dampened by the night scenery at the back. Despite this though, when he entered the brightly lit mansion, he still looked as imposing as ever due to his terrifying momentum.

It was Gio whose face and aura was openly broadcasting to the world how bad his current mood was as he took big strides in.

"Where's the head?" His steps loudly reverberating in the hall, he swept his icy orbs around. The maids and housekeepers who unluckily met his stares flinched, their bodies feeling the sudden chill colder than the later days of December. Not wanting the fortune of receiving even the slightest of their young master's wrath, they hurriedly averted their gaze by looking down to their feet.

"He's inside the library, young master. He said once you arrived, just go directly there."

When everyone else was acting like frozen statues at the sidelines, it was his uncle's closest confidant, the driver slash housekeeper Old Joe, who answered his question. Old Joe had a wry smile on his face as he bowed respectfully to the heir of the house.

Gio did not even bother nodding to the man. With hurried steps and a black halo both of gloom and anger seemingly surrounding him, he barged into the library located south of the mansion. Sparing himself the trouble of masking his aura and the fury mixed with it, he was like a lion in silent rage as he stared coldly at the man sitting comfortably at the leftmost spot of the table located five or six meters away from him.

It was quite funny for him that the man chose to sit on the chair situated at the back instead of taking the nearest seat to the door. This was just not his uncle's usual style.

"Now what, Conrad Albarez?" he asked with no hint of emotion in his voice, not moving his body away from the doorway. He did not bother greeting the other as he was not in the mood to do anything remotely courteous to his uncle tonight.

"Go in and take a seat. After that, we can have a proper conversation. I don't want my dear guest to chat with me standing." The voice sounded extremely kind, the type which could make people think that the speaker was a very good person. However, to Gio, it was anything but that.

In fact, it only made him defy the person all the more, planting his feet to where he currently stood.

"Your best friend had his minion transformed my shopping mall and factories into unrecognizable junkyards. Once this day ends too, since I don't know what more instructions are said to that kid, I can only predict that he'll either leave me with 10% of my wealth or worse, nothing, my properties and companies completely wrecked together with the people in there." He quietly said, with no change in his expression. His deep-set eyes s.h.i.+ning like a black pearl suggested the opposite though, seemingly telling Conrad that Gio was already on the verge of declaring war with him.

"He's h.e.l.l-bent on forcing me to separate from my woman."

Conrad kept his silence. Following which, the older magnate sighed and then replied, "Since you're being like this, I won't pretend anymore that I don't know what you're talking about."

"From the very start, you know what's happening to my life." Gio accusingly interjected, marching towards the end of the table nearest to him and throwing sharp glances at the man seated at the far opposite. "I'm even guessing it's you who started this. Was it because you're thinking her life is way dangerous for someone like me, or us?"

"You're previously from the military so you must have thought that everything you witnessed from there is already the worst humans can become."

Gio shook his head, increasingly growing disappointed at the only other person he thought would always be at his side. However, he was not an idiot to not get where his uncle was coming from.

He was a normal person while Sofony was someone who could potentially evolve into a country destroyer.

If something goes haywire between them, it would definitely be him getting the short end of the stick. Yet actually, that would be already describing the situation euphemistically, considering that he could possibly die.

This must be what was in his uncle's mind when he schemed everything behind Gio's back, contemplating that no matter what kind of demon he had become today, it was still nothing but fakery before a true messenger of chaos and immorality, a forged art being compared to real masterpieces.

In Gio's honest opinion though, all this misunderstanding just boiled down to a single thing - Conrad lacked knowledge about what he truly had! Which made sense since he had yet to tell about him to anybody, not even Sofony.

"I don't want anymore bulls.h.i.+tting with you, my dearest uncle."

Gio stared at the bookshelf to his uncle's left piercingly and said, "Fred Mendez, come out. I want to show you something that will change that insane mind of yours."

Conrad couldn't help but laugh, "What are you saying? He's not here."

One moment later, the magnanimous looking middle-aged man frowned and asked, "Wait, Gio. It seems you haven't explained to me how you know my relations.h.i.+p with him."

"I'll do so once he comes out." his impatient reply.

"Sir, I'm waiting."

Seconds pa.s.sed that nothing made sounds in the room.

However, when something did, Gio just felt a presence appearing in front of him, materializing as that freak of a doctor, grinning at him ominously and contemptuously. Warning bells just suddenly rang within his mind, his nerves tensing greatly at the danger screaming at him. He realized it was due to the smile plastered above the man's beard. When Gio realized the reason for that smirk, it was already too late.

"You are indeed very perceptive for a non-host. Quite commendable."

"But so what?" A taunting voice resounded inside the room. At the back, Conrad Albarez touched his aching forehead, glaring at the lunatic who came out easily but in a crazy way.

At the doorway, a huge blue ice bloke encasing Gio appeared, emitting faint smoke or fog which showed just much low the temperature around it was.

Things happened way too fast. The man called out, even in the midst of materializing after his short teleportation, had actually activated his signature ability. It didn't matter whether Gio was caught unprepared or not. By the time the ice turned visible to the naked eyes, it was already firmly wrapped around the targeted man, showcasing the surprised expression adorning Gio's face frozen in there when he somehow sensed the impending danger.

Fred casually strode over, tapping over the glittering icy surface. He laughed, "Gotcha! Bad lad! See! This is how you become dead to me!"

Conrad shook his head and bitterly thought, 'In the end, no monstrous human could go against real monsters, like how no ants could go against the huge waves of the sea. I'm sorry, my nephew. But you'd probably have to spend your next three to five years inside that mini-iceberg, frozen and barely awake.'

Gio's uncle then heard Fred say after a click of his tongue, "How stupid. He knows there's a chance you can contact me. But how come he didn't think that I can just directly be with you and then ambush him when he's unguarded? What? Thinking I'd be lenient just because my daughter fancies him. Stupid!"

"Hmm. But wait. Why didn't I just do this earlier? Why did I think of reducing everything he has into nothingness first before beating him half-dead senselessly. d.a.m.n, I suffered a headache for no reason! Should have just trapped him in this ice forever from the get-go!"

Not liking what the crazy bearded man in white lab coat said, Conrad glared at him.

He was about to remind Fred of the deal when something unbelievable took place before them.

A sudden and loud cracking noise prompted the two older men to the direction of the doorway, just in time to see the huge ice bloke suddenly being pulverized into something similar to ice particles shaved for a summer dessert, glowing beautifully, piling almost knee-high by Gio's feet. The young man encased inside it less than a minute ago reappeared, unharmed, not even his clothes seemingly wet or wrinkled.

An indifferent and emotionless voice then rang, making Fred's expression as grim as a person forced to swallow a mouthful of flies.

"I'm sorry for the sudden interruption. But it's not my intention since I never even plan this. With due respect to this nasty sneak attack of yours, Sir," The voice paused midway dramatically, its owner's eyes coldly resting on Fred's darkening face,

"This is what I want to show you."
