For the past three days, the beautiful wavy-haired girl of the Gomez family acted like someone possessed by a ghost as she obsessed with her investigation. No one could budge her out of it. And actually, n.o.body bothered snapping her out of her current state because the previous years of repeated incidents already proved that trying so would not give any result.

So they just left her alone.

And of course, this became like a cue to start bothering others for her so-called unpaid private investigation.

Apparently, none of the maids from the Dimatrionez mansion or Mr. Dimatrionez' workplace escaped her clutches. It even extended to the company where Felicity's mother was part of as a member of a board. To how she did so? It was like usual. Spying. Blackmailing. Reverse Psychology. For the sake of evidence acquisition, Wendy could go resort to practically anything and so the list of ways she had employed goes on. The three days she spent on collecting information through legal, normal or forceful, way somehow bore fruit, which was supposed to be a relief for her. But these only made her quite angry.

Her anger came from the part where she uncovered so many inconsistencies with Felicity's family, in which the least d.a.m.nable would probably be Felicity's mother's sudden confinement to a mental hospital. But even so, for Wendy who could still remember her conversation with the madam more than a month ago, it was quite a shock to hear such a gentle and competent mother suddenly turning mentally ill. They said it was severe schizophrenia, as this mother apparently had lost touch with reality and even attempted to kill herself and her own husband.

Of course, she had considered that Felicity's scandal and suicide impacted the madam big time to end up like this. After all, the day she was forcefully sent to the hospital was two days after the death of the daughter.

But then, as she was a person who never settled for one angle, she continued listing all the odd events that involved Felicity's family and somehow stumbled upon a dreadful chain of facts.

First, Mr. Dimatrionez was an adulterer...

This was only something she learned from the maid and some of the father's workmates through careful interrogation and blackmailing, but the fact it was confirmed by many almost cemented it as a truth. And honestly, with reference to how he watched her with l.u.s.t-filled eyes even when they were at the chapel where his daughter's ashes were, she had no difficulty believing it.

Factoring how he also did that, she meant the chapel part, when his wife had just been admitted to a mental facility, the only thing that could probably rise within her was her feeling of aversion to that man.

Well, his adultery was the first matter.

What just unnerved her big time was discovering that one of his adultery partners was actually his own daughter, Felicity...

And that the night before the day she was declared dead, the mother finally found out about this. When the mother went to the room to check on her grieving daughter, what she saw was her daughter in the middle of a disgusting incestuous mating with her husband as the partner.

Wendy could already guess that some major confrontation took place after that. It was also easy to imagine that was how the mother and the eavesdropping maids came to know that the father had had adulterous affairs inside and outside the house. The worst is his years of incestuous relations.h.i.+p with his own daughter.

To be honest, she could even guess that this was the real reason why that seemingly gentle madam ended up insane and that there was even a chance the madam had attempted to murder her daughter...

After knowing all of these farce, Wendy was left with so many mixed feelings that she could no longer stop herself from hating herself... because she could also no longer stop the welling of contempt and repugnance towards Felicity, even though she was already a dead person. She just could not help it because her lack of information only enabled her to see how this girl s.e.xually involved herself with several men, to which her own father was included.

Fortunately, Wendy could still keep a sane head. She was guessing there were still more to this story, so to help herself against Mr. Dimatrionez, and also see if there's still another reason altogether to retain a good or at least neutral impression of her dead friend, she decided to go to the last person she could consult about the whole matter - the one who had been oblivious to all this farce for so many years. The one whom when finally enlightened about the whole fiasco was forced by her own husband and daughter to become mentally ill. The greatest victim of Mr. Dimatrionez and Felicity's forbidden s.e.xual relations, the mother.

....

Monday. 5 pm. Cental Alina City, to where many high-rise buildings, malls, and popular establishments could be found.

Outside of a fairly popular family restaurant in front of BlueInk Publis.h.i.+ng's fifteen storied building, two figures could be seen facing off as they sat at one of the wood-patterned round tables which still belong to the restaurant. Not far from the rows of tables was the cobble-stoned pavement where many people come and go. A busy street crowded with cars and other types of vehicles lie in between their side and that BlueInk Publis.h.i.+ng's tall building.

The two, that time, were having a tense discussion. A minute later, however, the man wearing a neat black suit and red patterned necktie sitting in front of the enchantingly beautiful girl in blue and white school uniform suddenly froze in place. He stared dumbly at her as she opened her cherry red lips. The girl didn't break eye contact while speaking with the older gentleman who kept on having that silly expression on his face. Even after the girl finished saying what she wanted to say, that didn't change, and even persisted when he stood up and walked away, joining the crowd of people crossing the busy street.

The schoolgirl seemed to not have minded being left like that and only watched this office gentleman reached the other side, disappearing into the BlackInk's lobby entrance. She stayed at her seat after ordering some juice and pasta dish from a pa.s.sing lady waitress. When her order came, she quietly ate and drank. One time, a talent scout tried to strike a conversation with her to ask her to come to the s...o...b..z world, but she only politely said that it was unbecoming of a gentleman to interrupt someone's meal, thus making the other person awkwardly left once done leaving a business card.

She was alone to savor her food again. And then in the middle of bringing the gla.s.s of mango juice to her mouth, her eyes finally caught sight of what she had been waiting for. The man she was speaking with a while ago finally came out of that building, in tow was another middle-aged man. She didn't know what those two were currently talking about, but she could see mirth from the eyes of that middle-aged man who was dressed in white formal attire. She could see it even though the distance between them was a little more than ten meters because her unusually sharp vision wouldn't let the other details in the surroundings escape her eyes.

This was the reason why she saw that the man in black suit and red tie still had that strange gla.s.siness in his eyes. He was oddly walking a few steps behind the middle-aged guy.

They stopped just right before the crosswalk, seemingly waiting for the smaller red lights above to turn green.

They and the other pedestrians with them were the only ones that stopped though. All around them, the cars and buses were still busily traversing the streets. The girl even saw a few daring motorbikers bravely speeding through the narrow gaps between the large buses or trucks. She couldn't tell for sure if it's because they were just too excited to go home. But it seemed the world was always moving in a very fast paced. It was also very rowdy since people's voices were mixing with the vehicles' noises.

As she watched this boring scene, she sipped from her gla.s.s of mango juice. Then her eyes somehow blinked when she saw a huge delivery truck nearing the crosswalk. Actually, there should be no problem because the light above was still red, however, the girl's hand holding the gla.s.s just couldn't stop shaking.

She perfectly noticed how the man's action suddenly became weird, all without changing his expression.

A soundless gasp just couldn't help but leak out from her mouth as she watched that man's two hands extend in front without warning. She held her breath. Her eyes seemed to have been nailed to that middle-aged guy in a white long-sleeved suit. She unconsciously put down the gla.s.s in her trembling hand and focused on the emotions that crossed his face after realizing that his colleagues suddenly pushed him strongly to the street just when that delivery truck was two meters away.

He had been shocked and angered. Realizing the truck would soon run over him, he tried to change the direction his body was falling to, only to end up failing miserably. What he only managed to do was turn his head to his colleague's direction and see those still stretched out limbs. Fury and disbelief crossed all over his face and thoughts of violence and revenge got into his mind, but they all turned into fear and desperation... which later became despair and regret when he ultimately fell on the hard ground.

At this sight, the girl sitting at the table next to the opposite sidewalk almost couldn't help but stand up. Her guilty conscience wanted her to run away and not witness the scene that she knew would follow as to at least not capture this in her memories. Unfortunately, something in her mind forced her to stay and watch without missing any detail. Because of this, she could only tremble at the violent and b.l.o.o.d.y collision that took place next. She was not allowed to look away for at least one minute. She even had to note of the commotion and chaos that happened.

With no choice but witness everything herself, her conscience naturally acted up and her stomach started to churn. However, after brainwas.h.i.+ng herself that it was all for a cause and that the man deserved this kind of death, she finally managed to stop the trembling and only her breathing remained ragged. She remembered every information she had gathered about this man and finally managed to convince herself that even though she had indirectly caused all of this to happen, it was still okay. That man was only a dreg of society. She said to herself, no one grieves over a heap of wastes. n.o.body would feel sad over garbage bags that they threw away.

In reality, even when she finished saying those words to herself over and over again, she was still scared and uneasy. The dark and heavy feeling pooling in her heart was a silent proof of this. She knew she would still be affected by this negatively in the long run. Still, due to knowing the nature of the man she had schemed to death with, she ended up less repulsive at this planned incident than expected.

Maybe this was just immorality slowly seeping into her bones without her knowing.

Right now, the girl really couldn't tell for sure as her mind was preoccupied with her wish to leave the place.

More than a minute already pa.s.sed and it was already fine to leave. Everything she had to do and see here had been so she stood up and began walking away. She did not even bother picking up that business card left by the scout.

Before disappearing completely from the place, she glanced one last time to the chaotic crowd of people in the distance. She didn't know what happened to that poor man or that sinful middle-aged sc.u.m. The hubbub in front didn't allow her to see clearly what was really happening there. Nevertheless, witnessing the chaos was already enough. She stood there earnestly watching. Then she turned her back and started walking away again, all while slowly saying,

'Safe trip to the afterlife, Mr. Dimatrionez.'

'May you go to h.e.l.l.'
