Could this all be a dream? or better yet, just a nightmare?
Why do they have to know what happened in the past? Whose idea is it to bring everything into light? How did they even have this kind of conversation?
Sherry, who was staring at the men in front of her couldn't even paint their facial expressions. It's more of an abstract portrait where you can't tell what's on their minds. One can't even figure out what kind of emotion do they have right now.
Sherry staggered backwards. Did she do the right thing? Telling them all the things that had happened in the past? Letting them know the truth behind their love one's death? That it wasn't just a simple car accident? That everything was all planned out? that the person behind their misfortune was someone else's plan? It was not a coincidental accident nor sickness but poisoned.
Now Sherry was in deep thought. guess it was not a good idea after all. her upper lip twitched to form a sardonic but painful smile. Then she closed her eyes in remorse.

"He killed them".
Master Omni, Ethan and Rio creased their brow all at once. they didn't understand her. who? Who killed who? It was a question that was running in their minds.
Sherry looked at Ethan then to Master Omni intently.
"They didn't die accidentally. They were killed." Then she faced Rio.
"She didn't die out of sickness, she was poisoned."
Rio must have understood who she was talking about. His mother. Rio's mother suddenly pa.s.sed away a week after he went back to his mission. He was told that she's been suffering for an unknown disease silently. Yeah, his dad told him that and he believed it.
"I didn't know it at first, but Cole found out about how Silver silently poisoned your mom. As you know, Cole was working for your dad before and your father told him everything about what really happened." Sherry saw the astonishment in Rio's face. He is pretty shocked at all the things that he was hearing right now but he chose to keep silent and let Sherry finished.
"Yes, your father knew it but he chose to keep it from you since he doesn't want to see any bloodshed among his sons. Your father didn't believe the cause of your mom's sudden death. It was so sudden so he conducted a private investigation until he found out that it was all Silver's fault. He confronted him about it and to his surprise, Silver didn't deny any of the allegations."
"But why? why did he kill her?!" Rio almost yelled. "She was so good to him. she became a good stepmom for that guy! but why?!"
Sherry lowered her head. "I'm not sure… I don't know either… maybe…" Sherry thought of something but she was too ashamed to say it. "I'm not sure. but according to Cole, Silver said he hated how she rebukes him. he hates it when your mom meddles on his personal matters." Sherry couldn't look at his eyes. seems like she was hiding something that she doesn't want Rio to know, that's for sure.
"Just because of that?" Rio couldn't believe it. was that the only reason why he killed her?
"I'm s-sorry…" she sincerely apologized.
"So you are saying that my father didn't do anything to punish that man?" Rio continued asking.
"He was supposed to, but he chose not to."
"What do you mean?"
"He wanted your brother to pay for the price and he was ready to do put him in prison. But then…Silver threatened him… with you…" she muttered.
Rio chuckled annoyingly. "What? my father? Hha! That's so funny. You want me to believe that my father feared that man? are you kidding me?!" he bellowed helplessly. "Was my dad that stupid?"
"I know that he is a strong and fearless man. but he chose to let him go because of you. Silver had his men watched over you. and with just one word from that man, they could have shoot you dead. So your dad pleaded for your life."
Rio suddenly leaned his back on the couch. He was caressing his temple, simply because the revelation was too much to take. A few minutes of silence engulfed the room.
"Your father couldn't take Silver's demands anymore and decided to go against him after a few months. You must have not known it but there had been a constant silent war between them. your dad ensured your safety first before he went up against him. however, he couldn't kill his own son so he tried to exiled him out from the country. Everyone thought that he banished but someone hide him temporary until Cole found out about him." she paused for a while.
"Cole was about to tell your father about him but they threatened him by killing his one and only family member. They wanted to kill him… us, specifically."
Rio suddenly creased a brow. "Us? You? why were you included? What did you do?"
"Because I learnt about his existence too. They refuse to believe that I was innocent. But more importantly, aside from knowing about their illegal job, I was also considered a witness of some of his contract killings."
Rio was about to go nuts but he was trying to maintain his composure. How will he put it? Well, he was mad because he couldn't accept the fact that a lot of things happened in the past without his knowledge.
How could this people hide such important matters to him? what were they thinking when they decided to keep it a secret to him? was he that stupid and powerless before? bloodshed? Brothers? h.e.l.l with that half-blood relations.h.i.+p! If he could go back in the past, then he could have killed that man! bloodshed could have happened right before his father's eyes!
He was so angry within him that he wanted to shout and kill someone right now.
"You knew all those things but why didn't you tell me before? why now?!" he stood up upsettingly. "Why did you keep it from me? of all people, why didn't you come to me?!"
"Because my life was also on the line too!" she shrieked.
"Was I too weak in your eyes?" Rio's voice hints pain and disappointments. "You thought I couldn't protect you?"
"I never had that single thought, ever. But it's not because I couldn't tell you. a lot of things happened in the past that was beyond control. And all I want is to protect my children from him." She sadly uttered.
Rio stared at him. he somewhat understood something behind her words. There's more to that story, he knew. He can feel it; he can sense it. The story she just spoke of was not the entire story. She was definitely hiding something. probably the main reason of everything? Maybe it was the root of all of Silver's wickedness.
He was looking at her suspiciously and Sherry could sense that base on his gaze but she chose to ignore it.
"I'm really sorry, Rio…" she whispered inside her head.
