"I don't doubt you would be unable to take care of your problems if you put your mind to it. You take care of everyone and everything around you. I was surprised that you after the marriage even took care of me."
"Don't expect anything from me, Ellie. I can't have that from you."
The line cut and Ellie looked at the dead phone in her hands. She put it back on the stand and put her hands around her knees as she curled up into a ball.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
There was a knock on the door. Ellie made a low sound to indicate the person could come in and was surprised to see that it was Michael who was holding the door open for a young woman. Ellie straighened herself with surprise as Michael bowed. "I apologize profusely madam, but this lady has been here before and as you did not give me permission to disinvite her, I have given her a liberty this once, if you please."
Olga smiled with her beige handbag strung between tightly held fingers as she smiled thinly in her office dress. Ellie nodded at Michael who closed the door behind him. Olga put her bag on a table while she took a seat on the armchair closest to where Ellie was seated on the bed.
Ellie stood up and began to pace. She had a hand on her chin as she walked back and forth. She turned to Olga with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry that I have a lot on my mind. Henry called me from work after talking to the Wong family lawyer. I'm trying to remember what I can from my pre-law cla.s.ses and piece it together with the little google searches I've done throughout these last couple days. It is complicated." Ellie tripped and caught herself on the edge of the voluminous bed. Her hands dipped down into the generous foam. It forced her into a strange position so she grunted. Then Ellie moved back to the bed and curled up into a ball of anxious nervous. "I'll have to take my physical therapist a bit more seriously when he says I shouldn't move around. I wish I could regain my strength more quickly, but it takes time."
Olga took one of the underarm crutches on the back of her seat and tested it in her hands. She smiled as she waved it around. When she seemed satisfied with it's st.u.r.diness she offered it to Ellie. "These seem really nice. You should make you of these, I'm sure Michael would see this an an excellent reason to throw me out if you fall loudly while I'm sitting here. I don't think he likes me very much."
