Ellie was weak so it took her time to remember exactly where all of her things were. Nolan was patient and made sure to double check everything as Ellie sifted through her things. It was melancoly as they found her old tattered racing uniform and the helmet that had been tucked away into a cabinet. These things were useless now as the contract Ellie had signed for racing was lost to her and the fans had moved on. However, Nolan could see the pain in her eyes as she spent half an hour cleaning the items before tucking them into a duffel bag. She missed it still.
After everything was packed, Ellie looked about with a relaxed air. "I'll miss the nurses, but I won't miss this room. I will miss Mr. Go. He's such a sweetheart."
Nolan nodded. He was like a parent now. "I'll give him your phone number so he can call you whenever he likes. I'm sure it'll be pretty non-stop as he's an older fellow. He's been walking more and more every time I see him. I'm sure he'll come visit you before he goes back to Asia."
Ellie nodded. "I'd like that a lot. Tell him that when you see him again so he doesn't forget."
Dr Amrati knocked on the door and the two turned when he came in after drawing their attention. He explained the need for sedatives during the transport and plunged a syringe into the IV bag. Nolan watched the amount and saw it turned the bag completely blue.
"Is that more than is safe?" Nolan asked curiously.
Dr. Amrati shook his head. "I think it's better she have no awareness of what's going on."
Ellie nodded. "I don't want to be in pain when I get jostled around." Ellie rarely spoke of her medical issues to Nolan. He knew she was really in constant need of painkillers, but she was always stoic and her silent strength was always steadfast. Nolan always envied this in his elder sister. He was hopeful that the journey wouldn't upset her body in anyway that would return them to the place she so wanted to leave. He just want to make her life a little better.
