The World We Live In 5 Chapter 5: My Parents Are Not My Parents

"welcome cla.s.s to magic cla.s.s, this cla.s.s is going to teach you the right way to use your magic, it will also teach you what you are capable of doing, and with some lessons I will be deciding whether you're a Knight or you're a witch", Hank was talking to us about magic and what we are going to be studying for the next year and so on. But all I wanted was to impress him so he can choose me as a knight, to fight against darkness and to protect the one who is weak.

"so who wants to show me some magic?", hank asked the entire cla.s.s. Everyone raised their hands wanting to show what their capable of, but of course, hank choose me, I stood up and went up to him, my friends cheered for me but it just made me more nervous.

"so what spell will you show us today Alex?" asked Hank.

"I'll show you something my mom used to do for me", I said.

I hold my hands together and close my eyes," INFARMO"—A spell used to make fire out of nothing and can also make you control it—I open my eyes open my hands and start blowing out fire from nothing, I made it change shape controlling it with my hands, I made it jump like a horse and move everywhere. Looking at the teacher it looked like he was more than impressed, every one like it. I then stop and look at everyone, hank then said that it was the most gorgeous thing he has ever seen in his life but he then looked into my eyes and says " you might be able to do tricks and shows but can you do real magic?" I look at him and was confused about what he said, not only me but also the others with me in cla.s.s. Because we all knew using real dark magic was not allowed and would be too dangerous to risk." I'm just kidding cla.s.s, of course, we won't be studying that spell, it's not legal to use it, anyways just forget about it and don't do anything, just be you and see you tomorrow in cla.s.s and don't forget to do your a.s.signment" said hank.

I go to the library with John and Lux to study, as we were studying we hear a scream but no one really bothered as we thought it was just a screaming spell. After a while Emily comes running looking at every direction from everywhere in the library we looked at her and asked if everything is alright. She then says she can't seem to find Jake and that he isn't answering her calls. She told us she felt like something was wrong. But no one really cared and everyone minded their business, from their looks it gave me a vibe that they always prank other students, John then told me they do this all the time so he told me not to worry about any of this drama, and so I didn't but Emily was still acting nervous and kind of freaked me out. I then tell her that I would help he look for him, I stand up and so does John.

" Well if you're going I'm going to with you", said John.

"okay let's go then," I said.

We start looking everywhere for Jake but we found nothing, even after using "FARKO " a locating spell nothing was found, it almost felt like he is not in school. After hours and hours of looking, we found just nothing at all. We were then convinced that it was just a stupid game, even though we didn't see Jake and Emily still did look scared and worried we just went back to our dorm room and told Emily that one way or another he will come back, we all head to our dorms and immediately go sleep.

The next morning we go to our magic cla.s.s and sit down after the teacher started taking attendance we realized that Jake still didn't come back and so did Emily. After cla.s.s, I headed towards the dorm rooms looking for both of them but just couldn't find anything at all.

" lets split and start looking for them, there has to be a problem, these two don't usually disappear just like that," said John.

I take the left building while Lux takes the right and John takes the middle building, I go on my way looking for both of them, but still, nothing was seen or found. It almost felt like these two never made it to their rooms. I use a couple of locating spells and smelling spells but just nothing was found. After hours of looking and finding nothing I sit down on the side chair and took a deep breath trying to think of something or a way to find these two.

Out of nowhere, I start hearing whispers, I look around me thinking it might be someone in the hallway, but no one was there. The whispers got louder and louder, but it was hard to understand what it said, it then suddenly stops.

"well that's weird", I said.

My phone starts ringing, it was John, "Hey I think you need to come to the stadium real quickly".

I close the phone and run towards the exit to go to the stadium, I enter and see Lux and John standing next to a body. I go towards them and I see something that can't be forgotten, the dead body was Emily's body, bites on her hand and neck scratches on her legs and a lot of blood everywhere. The worst part was seeing her hung in the middle of the stadium 100 meters of the ground.

The magic police come to check how all this happened, they asked us a lot of questions, even though we found Emily, we still couldn't find Jake. All three of us were worried about him, we thought he was also dead just like Emily. But the most thing that triggered me was my parents were also killed the same way, just like Emily. I took John back to the dorm to tell him about this.

"John I think the killer is in this academy", I said.

"what? Are you serious? How do you know?", said, John.

"My parents were killed the same way, they were hung on to the middle of the house, and looking at Emily's body, it had the same bites and scratches my parents had, and that can't be a coincidence John, it almost feels like someone in this academy is just killing everyone I sit or talk to"

John looked at me worried, I then bring Lux and tell him everything, he started getting worried, but neither of them was scared to be with me, I was scared for their life is in danger because of me.

I then get an idea of using dark magic to talk to Emily " maybe if I go to the underground I might be able to ask her to tell me everything that happened", but both lux and John didn't agree with me using it because of how dangerous it is but it didn't really stop me. John did the protection spell toward the entire room so no one can enter or exit it, and Lux did the anti-demon spell where no demon will be able to stop me from asking the questions.

I lie down on the ground and close my eyes" SILVO"

"anyone here ?", I look around but find nothing,

"I'm calling Emily to come and have a talk with me"

Everything went from darkness to a room filled with toys for girls, the door opens and it comes out to be Emily

"don't you think your kind of late to come to Alex?" said Emily.

" Emily, you're okay?" I didn't really know what to say, I was nervous as it was my first time that it would work.

Emily then tells me to sit down on the chair and that she will tell me everything I need to know, but what she said after that was something I never wanted to hear or know about.

"Alex, first thing is that those two people who were killed at your house are not your real parents but in fact people who acted as your parents, they were given order by someone to not tell about all this and were killed by a walking wolf, and a walking wolf is a demon who is known to be the strongest, he is very dark and would kill anyone to get what he wants, be careful, he is somewhere in the academy lurking around trying to kill everyone for you" said Emily."

"why would someone want to kill for me, and what do you mean about my parents, am I adopted?", I asked, but she answered with a no, she told me that I was given by my mom to the family. She then said "even though you think you will find who this person is, just be safe. And if your trying to find Jake, he's locked somewhere in the school bas.e.m.e.nt when he was being attacked by the walking wolf".

I stand up and thank her, I told her that I would bring her killer to pain. I leave and open my eyes to the real world I look and see John and lux if I saw something. I seat them down and tell them everything they needed to know, except the part where she talked about my parents not being my real parents and just being there as a replacement.
